What a gem of a park! We had a delightful stay here the other night followed by a morning swim. I really liked the cooking table in addition to the picnic table. I woke up early and walked my dog by the lake and it was so peaceful and quiet with lots of birds, even a heron wading in the water. The only thing we didn't love was all of the litter. It was truly appalling, even though there were plenty of well maintained trash cans around. It was all along the waters edge as well as all around our campsite. The bathroom ms were pretty gross as well...come on people- have some respect! Anyway, we stayed at a pristine campground last night where we were handed a garbage bag at check in, so I wanted to pass along the idea!

This a large lake fronting park just outside of edmond which has a lot to offer recreation wise. This is a for fee facility that has massive diverse parking scattered around various locations within the park. truck parking close by the boat ramps, car parking by the picnic beach and playground areas and on peak days- fourth of july, labor day etc., they make a particular effort to monitor them. Generally speaking there will always be parking somewhere in the park. This is a man made lake-like most lakes in oklahoma- that offers excellent scenic vistas-if you are camping that sunrise/sunset will be amazing-great fishing and decent boating. There is something for nearly everyone - low risk beaches for swimming, excellent walking paths, new picnic areas and children's playgrounds, functional restrooms, superior boat ramps, and lots of wildlife especially deer and waterfowl. Typically there will be bald eagles in the winter. Campers need to beware raccoons, picnickers need to look out for maniacal squirrels. It's all very well maintained. Well for the most part-every once in a while you'll come by on the heels of a party weekend and some sites will be trashed. All in all this is a real gem of a park right next door to the edmond, and is well worth a visit.

Today we came to Pick up our three young children who were with theirGrandparents camping. The lady at the ticket office said we needed to pay$12 fee. We explained that we would just be passing through to grab our kids and immediately leaving to go home. She gave us 15 minutes to get our refund. We came through 3 minutes late andWe were denied because we were over the limit. We were loading car seats and babies. I can't believe the terrible customer service IN A STATE PARK IN OKLAHOMA!! As avid campers, we will NEVER spend another dollar at Lake Arcadia/Central State Park.

Driving on the old route 66 was a great experience, hoping to reach Texas but the sun set quickly and I needed a place to sleep, too close to Oklahoma City I was afraid I'd only encounter hotels.Drove by this state park right on old route 66(a few miles before Pops on the left), looked perfect. Ranger booked the campsite for $19, right on the lake. Yeah, that means some bugs, but if you're good none will be in your tent(light OFF while setting up!) Not much between you and your neighbor so will hear their noise/partying/moans of pleasure. I may have had moans of pleasure on my own as well, the sky was full of stars - AMAZING. And if you pick a spot close enough to the lake you'll hear Frogs as you drift off to sleep. nature sounds.Shower was a short drive away and quite meager, but it worked. Bathroom was much closer, lots of woods/trees

I had no issues with the gate attendant as many others seem to, however the poor maintenance of the fishing dock drove me away from here in a heartbeat. Nobody I saw that day caught one fish, spiders and bugs here were just insane. They are everywhere. At first I felt embarrassed cause they freaked me out big time, but when grown men and commenting and running for cover, something has to be done. I've been to other areas which have bugs, but Lake Arcadia takes the win for the worst maintained fishing spots I've been to. For me, the above issues offered zero incentive to ever return here. My boyfriend had no real complaints but after hours of being bit, having two inch spiders jumping on me and NO fish at all...I was done. Bathrooms were clean and no issues with the staff there so two stars.Come to Norman and check out Lake Thunderbird, it is 10x better. Caught fish in less than a hour with over 100 bites and it was peaceful, no spiders crawling on me, no being bit my mosquito swarms and the boating and camping spots there look decent as well.

The view is nice and you can get in the water. We made the mistake of going in the first entrance (Edmond Park) and the guy failed to mention the restrooms were out of order. Central State Park is further east (1/2 mile) and has showers, I recommend going there. It's a little bug busy since you're near the water but not too bad.

I got a season pass so me and my 3 kids can enjoy the lake this summer. We came to the late today around 4pm on 6/15 and this is what we saw. Dog sh!t everywhere. It's disgusting, there shouldn't be dogs out here. My 2 year old daughter couldn't even play in the sand because of it. I was so disappointed and disgusted we only stayed an hour and then left. People shouldn't bring their dogs here, IT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED!

I was cussed out by the ticket attendant because I apparently frustrated him by asking questions. Wish I had recorded the interaction.... will record from now on.

I liked the lake BUT there was trash left in the beach area. Since we have to pay to get in for the day I feel they should keep it clean. What's worse... the playground area was taken over by BEES!!! It was terrifying especially since we had no warning and had walked our 2 year old up there. IF WE HAVE TO PAY---KEEP IT CLEAN AND SAFE!!!
