Kristi S. "I have been attending the arts festival since I was a kid and it's something my family looks forward to every year. There's A lot of really great art ranging from painting to photography to pottery, jewelry and then some. The artist have to apply for a contract and if they are excepted then you will see them at the show for the next three years so if you find an artisan that you really like and one year they are no longer at the show then they didn't make the cut for that rotation. Much of the art is out of the price range for ordinary people but you can find prince of that art very affordably if you find something that you love. There are a lot of food booze and some have some very unique items. They're usually pretty costly so that can't be expensive if you have a larger family to feed. The great thing is you can pack your own lunch and drinks if that's what you choose to do and save some money that way. You are also welcome to bring your dogs from what I can tell. Although admission to the festival is free I wish the parking wasn't so expensive!"

Jahaziel H. "The owners of this studio have been investing in the dance community for almost two decades. The building they are in now used to be a school so it's a cool repurposed space. They have two different rooms upstairs where the classes take place. Sometimes they have events in a bigger space downstairs. I've mostly taken Salsa classes there but they offer all sorts of styles: Casino Rueda, Bachata, Merengue, Belly Dancing, Tribal Belly Dancing, Kizomba, Zouk, Aerial Silks, Clogging, Line Dancing, Country Dancing, and more. They have classes for kids and adults. The environment is super friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at home right away. The drop in rate is $12 or $40 a month. In addition to group classes, they also offer private lesson, wedding and quinceañera dances, event venue and floor space rental. Being centrally located, they have students from Norman, Newcastle, Moore, Oklahoma City, Edmond and surrounding areas."

Now that I'm an adult and have had a chance to see multiple ballets, I can appreciate the art form in a more complex way. OKC Ballet is truly world-class as we have dancers from all over the country and beyond, along with world premieres of ballets. We are lucky to have such a talented group in our city. From the sets and costumes to the beautiful choreography, they are putting on truly masterful productions. If you have a chance to see one of their shows, you won't be disappointed! You can also get a discount on tickets with your Allied Arts OK City Card!"

Seth A. "I absolutely loved the Rodeo Opry here in Stockyards City, just outside Oklahoma City. This is a real feel, old fashioned, mom and pop movie theater! Who doesn't love "indie movie theaters"??? Even though I'm from South Florida, everyone out there needs to support their local independent movie theaters!!! Especially a cozy and charming little place like this Rodeo Opry!!Alright so yes, you may be wondering how a kid from Florida discovered this Rodeo Opry and how I'm writing about this little film theater located in the heart of Stockyards City, OKC.Well...I was visiting Oklahoma for the very first time this past summer of 2021. I was exploring Oklahoma City and just doing all the casual/touristy stuff like strolling around the Brickyard Historic District and touring the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum. And according to the Oklahoma Welcome Center, another worthwhile area to check out was to come here to Stockyards City and walk the cobblestone streets window shopping all the cool vintage cowboy themed stores. And for myself, I love being transported back in time to simpler eras like old fashioned western towns where you feel like you're far far away from reality. So, I showed up to Stockyards City District in late afternoon on a random Sunday back in September and I walked across this... - The Rodeo Opry - which is host to not just live musical performances but also a real film movie theater! And what do you know, it just happened to be 6:30 pm when I was standing outside the theater and there just happened to be a 7pm film showing! And...the movie was called Wild Indian...and it just happened to be featuring two of my favorite actors...Kate Bosworth and Jesse Eisenberg and that was it! Sign me up! Get me inside! And especially during these past 2 years with the whole pandemic...I'm not even sure if I had been inside a movie theater in years and yet here I was on a random summer evening with absolutely nothing to do but walk the streets of Stockyards City and then to stumble upon this Rodeo Opry showing a very interesting film featuring two fantastic actors....I thought to myself in my head..."I couldn't have lucked out any better"!!!I went inside and the setting and ambiance oozed classic, simple, vintage. This Rodeo Opry was PERFECT FOR ME!I bought my ticket and was able to choose my seat inside the theater which is a new addition for all films in conveniently reserving your seat ahead of time. But funny...I was the only movie goer that night. But fine by me. I like to be alone and had the theater all to myself. The gentleman assisting me behind the counter was friendly. And of course me being a movie buff...I happily bought some fresh popped popcorn and a large fountain soda. And the prices were crazy cheap as well. I believe my ticket, popcorn and soda all came to $20. In this day and age...an absolute bargain for a night out enjoying an Indie Film! And this movie, Wild Indian was terrific. A real suspense thriller which I had never heard of, or had zero expectations of. But, it kept my interest and had me at the edge of my seat. And yes, the seat was comfortable with enough space. The popcorn was delicious as well.Just, overall, I couldn't have asked for a better evening randomly stumbling upon this Rodeo Opry Theater in the middle of Stockyards City.Honestly, I was ready for a double header film and would have gladly stayed for another movie showing had they offered another film.Instead I left Stockyards City on such a high note! This Rodeo Opry was just what I needed during my travels in Oklahoma, simply a chance to take a step back and enjoy an independent film in such a charming little theater.Anyhow, lastly, I'll just say that I'm very surprised no one has written a review about this theater. It deserves recognition and needs to be supported! If I were an OKC resident, every time this Rodeo Opry featured a new film, I'd absolutely 100% come to watch it and I'd 100% sign up to be a club member here which they said you receive great discounts and benefits.Rodeo Opry was such a wonderfully pleasant surprise. I just want to thank this place for still offering opportunities to be transported back in time and keeping the movie going experience classic, the way it ought to be!!"

Gloria R. "A great production was performed by an all children cast. Costumes and make up were great. There were girls playing boy roles and kids playing all roles (various age groups). If you have a small child (5-9), they will truly be mesmerized. If you have a creative soul on your hands, your best bet is to sign them up to perform. If they are not ready to perform, there are various other options for summer camp. My son has done robotics, theater fighting, game coding, and small productions. Make sure that you checkout their website for details on the camps. If you decide to do the camps make sure that you have some patience during the pick up, it's a little slow. The cost for the larger production tickets is about $10 for adults and $8 for kids. For the shows make sure that you print the receipt because on multiple occasions we bought tickets the day of the performance and the box office did not have our names down. The sound system could use a little updating, but the AC is pumping strong so, make sure that you bring your sweater."

I really only chose this place because the name stuck in my mind from seeing them at different events around Yukon. Every parent always probably wonders what kind of place am I sending my kid to, are these people good influences, do they care, are they passionate, is this a positive environment? I can tell you from personal experience this place is all of those things and more. We recently attended our first Recital for them and everything ran smoothly and everyone was professional. The main thing that blew me away was the director praying before every Act. Prayers for the families attending, the production crew, and the dancers. WOW. It was the most touching experience and definitely something I've never witnessed at a dance recital. WAY TO GO! Keep up the great work."

Taught me to lead some basic patterns to it. Then he proceeded to choreograph a simple yet elegant routine to the song. We opted for 6 lessons but he gave us the option to take one lesson at a time or purchase a group of 4 or 6 lessons and he never once pushed for more. In fact , he told us to start with the 4 because we were short on time, since I like to plan things the last minute. Susan S. "Yesterday saw The Sweet Delilah Swim Club. Denise Hughes, Christine Lanning, Kathy Hayes, Tawny Hacker and Allyson rose were each excellent in their roles. The dialog was clever and well delivered. So real, resulted in tears in several scenes. I wanted to know more about the set designer/builder. Shawn Hancock's bio was so short so I Googled him to see more about his art because I was so impressed with the JBT sets he creates. The Mousetrap set was the best ever and this for the Swim Club was entirely different yet worked perfectly. Hope JBT can keep the professional team effort going. From the Play's selection to the ending bows the team didn't miss a beat. Takes dedication from all involved. Hope more people become season ticket holders. I still hear from lots of people that they don't know you moved. Maybe a sign on the corner of 36th Street would remind people to return to live theatre with Jewel Box and where you are located. Still a few more days thru July 14, 2024, to see the Swim Club."

"We try to make it to the holiday performances each year, and (in our defense) we USUALLY succeed. The cast of each show I've seen there (and I've seen MANY) always seems eager to please the audience, and to laugh right along with it as needed. My favorite show at The Pollard lo the past three decades? Hmmmmm -- that would have to be either one particular version of "A Territorial Christmas," else -- still laughing my butt off over this one -- "Reefer Madness" a few years back.Unfortunately, our favorite restaurant in Guthrie ("Granny Had One") is long gone, thus leaving us with very few palatable options in the area. (Trust me when I say that Guthrie is NOT known for its wide array of foodie options.)Is that the Pollard's fault? Oh, of course not! But me? Courtney p. "Teachers are wonderful. Other working staff not so much. Unorganized, poor communication since new ownership, I have never been so disrespected by staff and it was done in front of a crowd full of people in the wide open. Sarah felt like having a little power trip and would not listen to anything I had discussed with other staff members. Long story short, their notes on my child's account were never updated and they did not get back to us to reschedule pre scheduled missed classes, along with teacher cancellations. So Sarah thought it would be the professional thing to do and discuss everything in front of a room full of people. In the past before all of this happened- I spent 45 min plus on the phone with one staff member, I was told they would get to the bottom of it and nothing happened. Got a call to say sorry and was never asked if there was anything that they could do to make it right. That right there showed me all that I needed to know. Peace out. Your staff (as in the instructors-who MAKE your business special) think terribly about management."

Julie S. "We love Lyric so much, and although there are two places to catch Lyric in OKC, this review is for Lyric at the Plaza, my favorite and by far the most intimate venue to see a show of this caliber. I think the thing I love most about Lyric is that we have Lyric moving in and anchoring Plaza to thank for the Plaza District we know and love today. Beyond that, it is such an important part of the fabric of our community and city. Finally, for many people, it one of their first experiences with live theatrical performance, or any kind of cultural experience. We brought our four year old here for the first time a few weeks ago to see The Cat in the Hat. She loved it, we loved it, and it was just so fun to share that experience with her. The theatre, though historic and charming on the outside, is modern on the inside, with an indoor box office, a bar, nice restrooms. Once inside the actual theatre, you'll find comfortable seats, good lighting, a nice black box stage, and an overall great setup. When you leave, you'll find yourself energized, and deposited just steps from some of the best food, drinks and desserts in the city, and definitely the best people watching. If you haven't been yet, their 2020 season has just been announced and it is going to be a great group of shows."

Jenny O. "One unassuming Saturday, my three-year-old daughter looked at me and said I want to tap dance. As someone who can barely two-step, I was intrigued and horrified at the same time by my child's a sudden interest in something other than cartoons and swimming. I thought this was a flight of fancy. It was not she was very insistent. However I knew she needed to learn how to dance before taking on tap shoes. But as any parent, I was thrilled that my child was interested in an activity. I took to the Internet and gathered a handful of dance studios. VDC was the first and last stop on our list. They offer A sample class. After that breakfast class I knew my daughter was very interested. The school runs parallel to the school year. It begins in August and runs until June with a grand finale. They have a wide variety of classesFrom beginner to expert, from ballet to hip-hop and tap.The staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and has a very good way with the little dancers. I was not sure how a teacher would handle a room full of three-year-olds. There is a waiting area in the front where you watch you're a little dancer on a TV. This allows you to commiserate and socialize with the other parents. And it allows your child to pay attention, as much as they can, without the distraction of their parent.Classes can be billed monthly or by monthly. It includes the costume for the final recital, our recital book T-shirt and classes. The June recital was a lot of fun. And a great way to see how are you a little dancer can progress into other classes.VDC is a great community. My daughter really enjoys it. And I feel that she is having a good time and learning a variety of skills in class. I can't wait to see where VDC takes her."

It was not my child's party, but I was made to feel uncomfortable as a guest when one of the staff/owner burst in the middle of the party to exclaim that "two extra kids arrived and they need $5. for each kid". The location is great - within walking distance of so many wonderful restaurants and bars you can always find something to do before and after. The venue itself is also excellent. For this event, the large foyer served as a ticketing area, bar area and general gathering area before people went down to the show. An art show was also up, lending another cool facet to the venue.Downstairs, a large room served as a theatre. It worked perfectly fine for improv, and I assume it works well for any number of performances. It could also work well as a yoga room or other class. A set of French doors allowed access from the street level, and the staircase and catwalk also served as another vantage point from which to watch the show.
