Sylvia J. "Stayed here a night in a cross-country move. The Good:-Spacious rooms, I had to check my reservation after getting in as I was quite certain I had only booked a King and not a King Suite. It was a King. Well laid-out as well.-Pet friendly-Warm welcome and farewell-Updated, modern rooms. They're pretty sexy.-The water pressure will pummel the dirt off you.-The AC unit was quiet and efficient. The quasi-bad:-Modern rooms with modern flooring echo like crazy. I always knew how things were going when my husband was in the bathroom. There is carpeting under most of the room, but wood/wood laminate at the entrance and in the bathroom.-Thin walls. I know my neighbor got laid last night and I know that the woman likely wasn't satisfied. The man was scarily exuberant. Nothing like waking up to a Big-O that isn't yours at 2 AM.-The bed could have been a bit comfier. I was exhausted from a 10+ hour drive and even I thought the sheets were scratchy.-Parking is fine if you're in a normal vehicle. I was in a moving truck and towing a car. I was able to park across several spaces and no one minded...but there's a pandemic going on, and had the hotel been more full, I may not have had anywhere to go.-It's a bit off the freeway if you're looking for a quick hop on/hop off.Still would 100% stay again."

"Well, we traveled to Oklahoma to look at an RV that was for sale in the marketplace, and then we didn't feel like driving all the way home the same day so we found this place!I really love love love this place!Remind you guys that I can only upload 30 seconds of video but hopefully, it's enough. This place speaks for itself! and because I can only upload 30 seconds of video in my videos that are longer than that I don't find this out until later, let me tell you all about it.There's only one thing that I do want to say, that I did not like, only one, that was the white chairs on the pool deck! Please do not sit on them because it looks like you'll catch something, like a venereal disease.overall the place I love so let's start and go through everything!First, make sure you bring quarters because you can't use your credit card on any of the vending machines, laundry, or laundry machines so bring lots of quarters.Second, don't worry about breakfast because you will get a very large breakfast and it was very good there is plenty for everyone.Third, you get a choice of poolside or not. We chose poolside and it was awesome!Guys I'm letting you know again my videos were longer than 30 seconds so I only uploaded 30 seconds of my videos.I do recommend staying here with your family because it has everything and remember to bring your quarters! Also, you're around lots of restaurants right next door there's a Little Caesars pizza, McDonald's, Aldi's, Walmart, Starbucks, Braun's, and MANY MORE!If you get out this way don't look for another place to stay you will feel safe here and choose poolside, you will feel even safer! My husband had a broken foot so we stayed in one of the handicapped rooms and it was super convenient with a roll in shower and easy access to the exit ramp. They had cable tv so a good selection of channels and fast internet. I love the verbena brand of shampoo and soap they care in the shower too. Overall the experience was awesome and we'll most likely be coming back every time we're visiting family in Enid. Shoutout to Cassandra for being such a gracious host/front desk staff :)"

The guy at the desk was a pleasure to talk to.But the bathroom smelled like poop. And I checked and couldn't find any in there. And there were several flies in the room, attracted I assume, by the smell. And the tap water had a reddish, yellowish tint.So If you closed the bathroom door, killed the flies and didn't drink the water all was fine. But if you didn't bring some water with you, things got interesting."

The staff were super attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming. Our room was super clean with high quality sheets and towels. It had tv, microwave and fridge. Bathroom was huge and had everything you could possibly need. We had a drink at the bar (excellent service) and spent some time in the casino (very clean and a great variety of slots) We didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but several family members eat there regularly and love it!! Upon arrival I was informed that they do not participate in the Marriott rewards program, the rooms are a tad out dated and small. BUT the amenities like the pool, basketball court and such are very modern and up to date. I had a problem with my rooms A/C unit, they came and fixed it, that night I woke up sweating cause it was still warm in my room. then the next day I found out that I had to pay for wifi service at the conference center at 30$ a day( outrageous price) overall I paid 90$ for wifi because I had to conduct work while attending the conference. For my inconvenience due to my A/C I was given a coffee voucher to Starbucks in the lobby.. on my 3rd at the hotel, I returned to my room late night and my room temp was set to roughly 75 and it was 59 in my room... not an overall great experience with this hotel. The food is rather pricy as well, for the same price or less you can drive a few miles down the road and get something of better quality. I can't say that I would return here"

"Cheap hotel close by the hospital was just what I needed when a family member was in the acute care unit for a few days and I had to come up from Austin.A/c barely worked but I figured it was fine, I wasn't going to be in the room all that much, and if the ceiling fan worked, it'd keep things warm and not hot.Upon check in, they said they charge a $100 deposit "for incidentals" but I was like, okay, I'll get that back, no big deal.A few days after checking out, I noticed the $100 fee being charged to my card. I emailed them and asked them when they'd credit me back the $100, but they replied, saying: "We're sorry to inform you that after you checked out from the room, we found that the TV screen was broken. We charged you $100 for the damage to the TV."Thing is, I never turned on the tv. I never looked at the tv. I went from hospital to hotel solely to shower and to sleep. So a 4 day stay at Samir wound up being $100 more than expected thanks to them stealing the $100 deposit.Next time, I'm going with Best Western down the street."

Right on the other side of the highway from Bricktown, and the hotel even offers a shuttle to take you there. We never had to drive any longer than 20 minutes to get to where we needed to go. I have stayed in a Candlewood Suites a couple times, and as far as the room goes, this one is the most updated one I've experienced. The beds and kitchen area were very nice, as well as the bathroom. We did have one issue with having a loud whistling sound, but I'm still unsure if that was just from the crazy wind at the time of our visit or if it was an issue with the hotel. Either way it wasn't too terrible. The hotel has nice amenities as well - gym, convenient store, and a 'lending locker' where you can borrow appliances, board games and DVDs. Phil Y. "The Ellison is a nice brand new hotel in the the Nichols Hill area of OKC. It is in great location with a Whole Foods Market next door and the Claussen Curve a block away. The hotel pays homage to the Ralph Ellison an Oklahoman and author. We weren't supposed to stay here. But, when a hotel in Bricktown couldn't deliver what we reserved, I immediately called the Ellison and made reservations. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Robert, the valet, who radioed the front desk to let them know that we arrived. Check in was quick because of the hotels procedures. They gave us a 2 queen room on an upper floor that gave us a good nights sleep. The room was a little small for us, but was comfortable. It had everything we wanted including a walk in shower in the bathroom. The hotel had a rooftop pool with lots of patio furniture. The only thing missing was a firepit for cold days. It looked like they are planning on putting a bar out there in the future. They had a nice gym on the second floor that had lots of treadmills and weights for lifting. Lots of art adorned the property. The books in the bookcase on the ground floor with the face of a woman looking down was neat. Next to the bookcase was bar and the Milo restaurant where Top Chef finalist Josh Valentine is the chef. As much as this is a nice hotel, there were some hiccups. We did have issues with one of their employees. When I discussed the issues with Jennifer, the assistant general manager, she expressed her concern and immediately took care of us. Simon the morning front desk clerk was also nice and helpful. He was able to help with ideas of where to visit, and was very responsive to my request for more towels and other supplies. Because of Jennifer and staff, I enjoyed my stay here and learned all about Oklahoma hospitality. If in OKC again, I definitely would stay here again."

Maggie D. "My mom and I stayed here for our impromptu trip to Sulphur/ Chickasaw National Recreation Park, and it was awesome! We were so surprised, not because we expected it to be bad, but just because it was better than expected and we were practically the only ones there (to be fair, we were there in the middle of the week rather than a busy weekend). So definitely a hidden gem. There's a much more popular hotel in town, but I'm so glad we chose this one instead. It's not technically a hotel I guess, but it works like one... and has more interesting things than a typical hotel. It really is set up to be like a retreat and conference center, so the name isn't just for show - you can tell that they've really thought about how to make spaces that work for those types of events/ situations. For example, there are plenty of different meeting and conference rooms, and they have a FULL gym, not just a treadmill and some weights like many other places. See the pics for what I mean! They also have a cool lounge area, complete with an open fireplace in the center of the room. Both my mom and I thought how cool it would be to be sitting around there in the fall. They also have a pool and hot tub, like many other hotels. There's a sauna in the locker rooms, which I thought was pretty cool, and it looked nice but we didn't decide to go in. Speaking of the locker rooms: they're also very nice! Definitely well-kept.The views from the hotel rooms are also STUNNING (and I do believe all the rooms are on the same side of the building, so all have the same view). The pictures unfortunately don't do this part justice. Because it's truly out in the middle of nowhere (only about 15mins from the main part of town though), there's just pretty land for as far as you can see. The rooms are pretty standard: two queen beds, a fridge, keurig with a few options, bathroom with shower, and closet. No microwave in the rooms, but there was one downstairs where they had the ice and coffee. I appreciated that they had more than one type of flavored creamer (powdered). I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but I got some because they had amaretto flavor, and it was good!!!At first because the drive there was so quiet and empty, we were a little unsure about what we'd gotten into, but as you can see it ended up being a great place to stay! I almost wish we were there longer. Would definitely go there again!"

Also a continental breakfast is included that is not listed on the website. Room has a fridge and microwave. I like that it is off a side road that really leads to nothing but this hotel and the hotel next door. Cuts down on the ability to have people come through blended in to other traffic and to be able to try to break into your vehicle overnight. Only complaint is there were 3 people booked in our room; me and my two 15 year old girls. They only allowed 2 towels without having to go through a little exchange with the front desk to get more. Now I'm not one for gambling, but my mom does like to go to the casino, so this was perfect for her. All I cared about was getting away from the house and getting some rest in a hotel. It was a pleasant drive here with no traffic, which was nice. The hotel and casino is not in a busy place even though it intersects 35. Upon pulling onto the street where the hotel and casino is off of I saw that it has nice landscaping. It is very pretty and has a water feature. As soon as we walked into the hotel I noticed a very pleasant smell so they must pump an air freshener through. Its a very refreshing scent. Check in was a breeze as they were not busy being it was on a Monday, so we were finished within a few minutes. We got settled into our rooms and then went to the casino area. About maybe 10 feet before you get to the door of the casino area, you could smell the cigarette smoke. But honestly it was not overpowering and I didn't think it would deter anyone from enjoying themselves. The rooms themselves are really small. To be honest, it's the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in, but I Would absolutely stay here again as it was quite comfortable and clean.I guess the only potentially negative thing I would say in case others might want the information, would be that there are no refrigerators in the room. I personally do like to bring waters to keep cold, but they literally have ice machines on each floor so it still worked for me. I liked that there was a desk area so I can play on my iPad or laptop or whatever. I prefer to sit in a seat rather than on the bed.I would definitely stay here again and I'm glad we made the choice to come here!"

Laura C. "Five years ago, we were driving back from a relative's 90th Birthday party in Dodge City, when we came upon the most beautiful little Oklahoma State Park outside of Watonga called Roman Nose. We said we would be back someday to stay and it's taken us this long to return.Roman Nose State Park, named after Cheyenne Chief Henry, is one of the original seven Oklahoma State Parks. A former Cheyenne winter camp, the park is set in a beautiful canyon, surrounded by gypsum rock cliffs. Roman Nose boasts a stunning golf course, stables for horseback riding, hiking trails, WPA buildings, an enormous spring fed swimming pool and two spring fed trout stocked lakes. The Lodge, originally constructed in 1956, was renovated in 2010 to reflect the natural landscape of the surrounding area and it is gorgeous. It has a Frank Lloyd Wright feel to it. There are 22 rooms and it has its own swimming pool. There's a gift shop inside and a wall full of Oklahoma travel brochures in the lobby. There are a few snacks and beverages at the desk. The park also has Cabins, Tee Pees and other camping areas as well as a General Store that handles horse, canoe, kayak, and paddleboat rentals in addition to feeding people with a wonderful restaurant! It's a long walk from the drop off point of the parking lot to the actual doors, across the wide lobby, and down the hall to any of the rooms. After checking in, which was seamless, we chose one of hotel style luggage carts and took it all the way outside. From there, it was simply no problem; but there is no one to help you with your luggage. You are on own as far as I could tell.We had secured our Lakeside King room online using a Senior discount. If you stay on a Friday or a Saturday, you have to stay both nights; but we were staying a Sunday. The Lodge is simply stunning. So much interior wood and rock and historic photos. We found everything to be very clean which was wonderful.I would say the pool was the highlight really. We were out there for an hour or so and had this great big beautiful pool all to ourselves. Sundays are slow apparently. It was a lovely setting with towels thoughtfully provided at poolside. Perfect. We were prepared for no microwave and found a community microwave out in a hallway alcove. With only a few people staying there on Sunday, I was okay with it; but really would have preferred one in our room.We slept well. There's a ceiling fan and room darkening blinds. We were very comfortable. We did discover the next morning that the coffee maker didn't work. It wasn't a big deal as there was fresh coffee on a utility cart out in the hallway. We had missed a continental breakfast from 6 - 9. Probably our loss. The description from the desk had sounded pretty yummy; but we slept in.There is a closed restaurant where the communal living room with fireplace and deck entrance used to be. Honestly, that was disappointing to see; but we were allowed deck access through a large meeting room. The view from the deck is terrific. A sweet place for coffee, unfortunately the umbrellas aren't up. Still, the tables and chairs are in use.We checked out and drove up canyon to the General Store for lunch. I've reviewed that, too.
