Black Magic Tattoo

My husband got this awesome tattoo tonight by Ben at Black Magic Tattoo!! It's beautiful and exactly what my husband was looking for! We decided to go there because we had gone to a few shops in town and this was the first place that we walked in and felt welcomed... and the best deal! As soon as we walked in, Ben welcomed us even though he was working with someone else. Some other of people at other places acted like we were bothering them, but not this place. Then during the tattoo, he was super cool, professional, and the time flew by. So, if you are looking for a friendly and talented place to get a tattoo at a reasonable price, this is the place to go and Ben is the man for the job!

I literally just left this establishment with such a disgusted feeling. My husband and I came here so that I could get a SMALL tattoo on my ring finger. Something that would maybe take five to ten minutes. We had JUST got out of the car, walking up to the door and was met outside by an employee who ASKED what I wanted and then proceeded to tell me they were closing in a few minutes. The website AND ON THE DOOR clearly says eight pm WHICH was two hours from the time that we made it there. If you haven't guessed already we are a young black couple and the individual was white. So I would suggest that ANY black individuals looking to get serviced here, just pass them by. Clearly their customer base is not of our nature. Just check out the Instagram page. This is a new shop for my regular artist. Shmitty Dequiase, has been doing my work since 2012. I have followed him as he moves up and this shop fits him perfectly. Located right on the corner of NE 9th street downtown, the shop is clean and very open. Each artist has their own area and each area is unique to the artist. This shop is also home to Frank Ready III, currently being featured on Paramount Network's Ink Master. I will be going here as long as Shmitty calls it home. Don't hesitate to check out the shops page as well as Shmitty's social media for his work, it speaks for itself...

Had an appointment with Chris for a very special tattoo. Got there and he told us he was tattooing someone else. No call no text no nothing. No apology. We went somewhere else with our business where they treat customers respectfully.

Matt does some of the best line work you'll ever see. Very professional and respectful. I know little about tattoos and he was extremely patient and accommodating with the requests or questions I had regarding my tattoo. I have Filipino/Hawaiian/Polynesian blood and wanted a Polynesian piece and he brought it to life better than I could have imagined. The first one (outer arm) I basically designed and he put it on my body perfectly. The second (inner arm) we talked through a little more and he went ahead and took the design lead on it. I love my first tattoo but part of me wishes I'd let him design the first more. That's how well the second turned out. He's an excellent artist with a very light hand. I have no plans to get any more tattoos but if I do he's the first person I'll contact.

The absolute best tattoo shop!!! Matt is amazing! Very clean and professional. I would never go anywhere else!
