3 years since we visited. My girls have become adults in that period. At least according to admission cost. Still best deal in town.

This place is sweet to me. I love how they have the gravel ground and ole timely speaker box stands on each side of parking. The guy at the entrance was nice and explained about what to do to get better sound quality. I saw a building with bathroom signs but not sure if there were concessions there because I did not see any signs. (I would assume that they would have concessions though.) we had a fun family night spending some outdoor time under the stars.

I took my family of five along with my daughters family of three to the drive-in during her most recent visit. We went to see toy story four. It is not extremely expensive, seemed like a safe area and it's not in a crowded part of town. We arrived fairly early in order to secure a good position. People were already there, probably because they know that it is difficult to get a center slot. The reason for that difficulty is probably due to the snack center being located so close to the screen. It's in between the second and third row. However we found a little spot on the end and we set up shop. The spots are close together so you're pretty tightly packed in there if it's a full house. We didn't purchase anything from the snack bar but the kids did get out and play in the open field in front of the screen before the movie started. I felt like all of the patrons were respectful of the movie viewing experience. I have to say I'm not a huge fan that the overall drive-in is so small or the location of the snack bar but, it was still a fun evening and we would consider returning again for the right movie.

This theater is a local gem! If you're in the metro and have never been to a drive-in or have been looking for one to reexperience the joy of car cinema, this is your place!! Handed down through generations of a local family, Beacon provides the comfort of a movie theater through its excellent projection and -very affordable! - excellent theatre faire (popcorn, candy, pickles, soda fountain drinks, etc,) delivered with the kindness and genuine attention to detail you'd expect from close friends. We got there just as they were opening and a car line had not yet formed, so we got front row. Although a storm the night before had knocked out the relay for the car mikes, the owners have an excellent sound system at the concession/projection building and the local FM radio transmission for the film was perfect. All the families there were friendly and collegial, sharing the experience from back ends of SUVs and lawn chairs they brought themselves. We will be back here for every feature we can. Go soon because they close up for fall and winter at the end of September and don't reopen until Spring 2020!

This drive in is such a gem! I am so grateful it has been well maintained over the years. It takes me back to my childhood and the speakers are such a perfect detail that was kept over the years. They are very good speakers too. Reminiscent of the 70's, but with the quality of today's audio. We arrived early, earlier than any of the staff, and witnessed the owner spraying for any weeds trying to peek through the gravel lot. It just provides more evidence of how well maintained this property is. The family running the drive in are very kind and seem to enjoy taking care of this property. It is very family friendly and safe! I have been to one local drive in I didn't feel safe at, but The Beacon has clean restrooms and a nice little concession hut with reasonable prices. The movie quality was good. And I look forward to visiting for my anniversary next weekend!

Everything you want the experience to be. It does not disappoint. Been coming here since we can remember and hope to bring my grandchildren back soon. People are friendly and helpful. Kids will love the snack bar.

Awesome! We laid down the backseats in our car and opened the tailgate but you can also bring a picnic blanket to sit on in the field in front of the screen. Be sure to bring bug spray, and you might even want to bring a soccer ball or a jump rope if you have kids because if you get there early then the kids can play on the field! Cheap and definitely worth it!! The concessions are ok but we have only bought popcorn though. I am glad that the screen is not grainy like I thought it would be. I really recommend that you see a movie here! Oh and sometimes they hold flea markets here during the day!

This place is an institution. It should never go away. Beacon makes me nostaglic for all those nights spent at my hometown's movie theater (no longer around, RIP). Though you have to drive all the way out to Guthrie, it gives that great small town vibe with all the families, their lawn chairs and dogs all lined up when you drive in. They have speakers set up next to each car spot, though you can move them around a bit. The common courtesy is to turn off your lights driving in or out. There is a small snack bar with cheaper theater treats (like $3 popcorn instead of $9). The restroom is very small and not very nice, but hey... you're watching a movie outside, beats nothing!

Its is so much fun to be able to still enjoy a drive in. It is clean, and the snacks are reasonably priced. Bring your own battery powered radio so you can hear the audio well.

This is everything a drive in ever was. Bad picture, bad sound, plenty of mosquitos and plenty of fun. I haven't been to a drive in with the boys ever so we went to see Indiana Jones this past summer. I haven't had so much fun since I was a kid. We're definitely repeat customers.
