The Auge family have been established in our little town for decades, serving up delicious barbecue in a warm, unchanged-by-time corner of Weatherford's main shopping centre. Not antiquated by any means, but preserved, from the decor on the walls, to the relish bar full of tasty bits to add to your meal. The little pickle spears are my favorite and a must-have every time I'm there. When I eat at other barbecue restaurants, all get measured up to The Barbecue Shed, and not many meet or pass the bar. This isn't Texas barbecue, where you get cold, picnic style sides. This is Oklahoma barbecue, with plenty of delicious fried options like fries, Okra, and corn nuggets. They have a tasty peach cobbler for the desert lovers as well to compliment their hot sides.Their menu hasn't changed much over the course of time, but why fix what isn't broken? Their ribs are some of the best I've ever had, their brisket is flavorful and lean. I prefer a fattier cut of brisket, but most everyone I know loves leaner brisket, and theirs does not disappoint at all. They serve Kitty's chicken as well, and are always rotating new and interesting specials for their patrons to try out.I go for the ribs. Hands down. Every single time for the better part of the last 25 years. Partnered with Fried okra and their seasoned fries, it's a perfect match and the finest example of local barbecue fare. The Barbecue Shed is a time machine in a way. It harkens back lots of nostalgia for not only locals, but travelers who appreciate a classic eatery while also serving up great meals. I would highly recommend giving them a shot if you never have. It may not be for everyone, but dont let the Negative Nancy's dissuade you. It is my favorite restaurant in town, and there's a high chance you'll be impressed as well.

Fairly decent offings. Fairly slim pickings in this town. Enjoyed the brisket, ribs. Tater salad ain't bad either. Cheers!

This place is great! We were staying next door at the Comfort Inn. We weren't hungry enough for complete meals so they offered suggestions to put together a smaller meal. The pulled pork was tender and tasty. The potato salad was great! Such nice folks. Yummy supper.

I love BBQ. I especially love BBQ where the meat has been smoked perfectly and doesn't need to be hidden by gobs of sauce. And that's what the BBQ Shack is all about. Seriously, it is the best smoked chicken in Oklahoma. In fact, I went in there last Tuesday for lunch, and when they said they had already sold out of chicken, I almost wept.Their lunch portions of chicken, turkey, and ribs are all fantastic. The sides are very fresh, and the cobbler for dessert makes the meal feel like your momma did the cookin' for you. There's a nice relish bar if you want some peppers (and occasionally I've seen pickled okra in there), but the real treat here is the meat. If you're driving through town and want some delicious BBQ, go to the Shack.

First off, the name of this place is 'The bar-b-que Shed'. While the atmosphere is definitely not upscale, it is very comfortable. The food is VERY good. I had a 3 meat combo: Jalapeño Brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. The Brisket was really excellent, and made the meal. Not real hot at first, but kinda creeps up on you after a few minutes. We'll worth stopping here!

This was the worst food we have eaten. It was nothing more than boiled meat and bottled BBQ sauce. We left most of our food on the plate when we left. And the people pie hind the counter were very nonchalant about the whole experience. No comments were given about what was good to eat when we told them we had never been there before. Like they didn't care. Save your money don't eat here. I only give this one star because the site forces to put one star there.

We just left this place and I wanted to let everyone know about our experience. I ordered spinach strawberry salad and was terribly disappointed. First it wasn't a spinach salad, it was mixed greens but that was the least of my disappointment. The chicken that was supposed to be 'grilled' was thinly disguised canned chicken that might have been dumped on the grill and seasoned beyond all reason. I really should have sent it back and I regret that I didn't. I picked around the awful chicken as best I could and left the rest. I told my server that it was horrible and thought she might produce a manager but no. Of course I should have asked to speak to the manager but I doubt that would have been productive. Just wanted to get this off my chest and let people know that the food at this establishment is almost inedible. We don't live here but are here often on business. There are few good restaurants in Weatherford and we were hoping for a better outcome. Needless to say, we won't be back. As a post script I will add that it appears the 'better' reviews are before it changed hands.

Sad excuse for a bbq place. Brisket was like precooked and mixed and not good. The bread wasn't even buttered or toasted, like they just threw stale bread on your plate. Very overpriced for the horrible food.

A friend and I are here for the week (work) and there are not a lot of options. We figured we would stop by and give this place a shot. This place is not good. I guess other people might enjoy boiled meat, but I do not. I tried the ribs, brisket and sausage. Nothing I tried had ever seen a smoker. The people are nice enough but I would never eat her again. For them to call themselves a BBQ restaurant is false advertisement.
