It looks awful, a very primate paint style overlaid on the original with thick strokes, especially in the windows, and the sky.

Absolutely loved the job Greg did to clean and restore my priceless, hundred year old family heirloom painting and it's unique frame. I admit I was scared to leave the painting with a stranger, but it had been degraded by exposure to smoke from a house fire and years of smoking in the home followed by neglect in a storage facility so a cleaning and restoration was a necessity. On top of the stellar job he did in repairing cracks and missing pieces of paint while refinishing the wooden frame, Greg made it look like what I think it looked like the day my parents received it as a wedding present from Earl Halliburton in 1949. Even better, he completed the work in time for us to enjoy it again in its rightful place in our home for Christmas. So glad I had it done locally instead of sending it to an entity in Denver. Thank You Greg!!!

This Oklahoma-owned gallery offers a wide range of fine art in all different media, as well as top rate fine art appraisal and restoration services. Its proprietor is both knowledgeable and friendly.Avondale Galleries provides a very good selection of high quality frames AND superb professional framing services.Furthermore, Avondale is very conveniently located. (It's directly across the street from Penn Square Mall.)There is usually ample but sometimes tight parking available out front to the east (along Penn).

I would run as fast as I could away from the gallery. My understanding is this is not the first painting they have ruined.

Greg us a master at what he does, not sure if he is human? Took a 30 year old painting to him that had a 4 inch tear all the way through the canvas. I almost fell from my chair when he quoted a price to fix it but also fell from my chair when I saw his work! Oh my lord the painting is better than new absolutely stunning, impossible to tell where the tear was. I am not easy to please, I was pleased that day! Thanks Greg for everything.

Definitely Recommend.. I have a painting of my daughter in an antique frame. After 30 years, the frame had seen better days and was in need of attention. Damaged corners, missing pieces, chipped paint, etc. Contacting several museums and galleries, I was advised to buy a new frame (like they do) or spend a lot of money to ship the painting to conservators in faraway places for repair. Some flatly refused to accept the project. Imagine my surprise to find Avondale Galleries of OKC. From the moment I walked in, to the moment I picked up my painting, collaborating with the owner was a pleasant experience. Greg examined the piece, described his recommendations in detail, and gave me a quote. A few days later I received an update (with photo) of the work in progress. At that point, Greg advised of several options on how to proceed (e.g. how to handle the gold leaf, missing minute detail, and adding depth to the plaster's new paint work.) Once I considered and approved his recommendations, the work recommenced. I am very pleased with the care given to the frame and my family and I are enjoying the finished portrait.

Recently took in a painting that is Dong Kingmans original water color of the shipyard for an appraisal. Greg at Avondale Art Gallery damaged my painting and denied it. He claims they always take a picture when you drop off a painting and he failed to do so, but good thing I did. There was a corner piece damaged by Greg and when I returned to pick up the painting I noticed the damage and Greg said the damage was already there. I pulled up the picture I took and there was ZERO damage on the painting prior to taking it in! He took zero ownership and lied and denied about doing the damage. Ensure you take quality pictures of your items before taking it to him! This painting is worth a lot of money and now thanks to Greg it is damaged. After he viewed my picture I took prior to taking it in, he offered to fix it but why would I want him to fix it after he damaged it already?? Never going back and would not recommend!

I went to have a print touched up and the owner ripped the original backing off and proceeded to push me to getting it reframed. Two hours later I called and changed my mind and left a voicemail to let him know I wanted it back in the original frame. No call back... when I went into the gallery and picked up my print I asked him about the original frame..."I destroyed it..." was his response. Never in the 40 years of having things framed has a business ever destroyed the original frame. His mouth never stopped the moment I walked in...

Serious attitude problem. For someone who is an appraiser needs training in customer communication or how to search the internet. Must not worry about having paying customers.
