Artisan's Pride

We have not lived in Norman very long. We were wanting a good steak and I found Artisan's Pride online and decided to try them. Their Filet was so tender and tasty -- we were blown away by the quality. I will be going back tomorrow and will now buy all my meat there -- you just can't imagine the difference between their quality meat and what you get in the grocery store. So happy to have found them. Can't wait to try their chicken!

So happy to have a high quality butcher here in Norman! They have my packer cut brisket, chili grind beef, flank steak, and all my fancy cuts! They have the best merch too like locally made pasta from Terraverde, the best dang hamburger buns I've ever had and even the chicken breasts are so much tastier than the Tyson flavorless breasts at the grocery stores. The butchers are always polite and knowledgeable when I come with questions.

Service poor; product marginally better than a grocery butcher for substantially higher cost. I'd recommend going elsewhere.

Great cuts of fresh meat. For the most part the quality of the meat is great. Your go to butcher shop in Norman.Would give 5 stars if men who run this place had better social skills. For instance, don't need smart ass responses, don't need three guys staring at me when I ask a question. I DO needed to be greeted by only one friendly person who is happy to have my business and money.Whether or not I purchase steak to feed my family or my dog shouldn't matter so don't sell me old stuff off the back freezer and tell me it's fresh cut!Just know I'd rather drive 100 miles to but from another butcher than treated like YOU'RE not interested in greeting me like a valued customer.Can't stress the importance of good customer service thing enough which this place lacks in the past 6 months.

We are a California family here in Norman visiting our daughter and her husband who are stationed at Tinker Airforce Base. Our daughter who is expecting was craving Santa Maria style Tri-Tip(which we eat all the time where we are from) Right away we started searching for a butcher shop and came across this place. I was hesitant and did not expect for them to have this type of cut of meat. The gentleman who answered knew right away what I was talking about and knew we were California people because we were asking for Tri Tip lol. I headed out there and picked up two medium sized Tri-Tips. They even were nice enough to give me a sample of their special seasoning. Let me tell you folks, my daughter was more than pleased. The meat was delicious and the quality was excellent. We now have a place to get our bbq meat when we are here visiting. Thank you Artisan Pride Staff who helped me out, you guys made this visit great for my family with a little taste of home.

I was being helped at the counter when another customer came in and asked about calf liver and leaf fat, this was to follow her grandmothers recipe. she was unsure just what leaf fat was.The Artisan's Pride counter help told her they did not sell "offal"I offered that she could get calf liver from walmart, and suggested she could perhaps use a rendered bacon lard.The Artisan's counter help was pretty condescending and even snooty.By the way, they sell sausages and baloney, so much for "offal".

We went to but found the prices high. We are still looking for reasonable place to buy a better quality of meat than what is at a grocery store.

My wife picked up a 4.5 lb rack of beef ribs for me to smoke. The entire upper part of the ribs was a fat cap, it looked like more like a pork belly. I paid 35 bucks for 4.5 lbs of meat and after an hour of trimming the fat cap and membrane I ended up with about 3 lbs of meat!I have had good luck at this shop before with steaks however I feel cheated with the beef ribs. I would expect a perfect cut of meat from a custom shop such as this. This was probably the worse cut of meat I've ever seen, don't know that I will back. Be sure to look your meat over before walking out of the door. Attached is a pic in case you think I'm exaggerating!

I've been a customer ever since they opened. The quality of their meats is far better than you will find in any grocery store. No more water, gristle and bone chips in ground beef for me! I don't know what makes their chicken breasts so tender and flavorful, but I'll never buy them OR ground beef in a grocery store again. Does it cost more? Yes. Is it worth every penny? Yes! Try it and you'll see why.Also... the reviews complaining about the service, many from out of state (!), sound suspiciously coordinated. For all these years I have found the staff to be consistently very knowledgeable and courteous, and even friendly.

Expensive and delicious. Go for the sirloin and ask for a two inch slice! The ground beef is great texture and flavor.
