Rooms were in short supply here and the clerk at Days Inn suggested we consider this place since it she said it was better than it looks. They've apparently upgraded the rooms since the review in '09. The place does in fact look better on the inside than the outside. We asked to see the rooms before getting them. I was surprised they looked as good as they did. Everything looked and smelled clean. Extra towels were delivered less than 5 minutes from our asking (good thing I like scratchy towels). The plumbing works (it didn't at Days Inn last night in Amarillo). Water pressure was great. Internet worked right away with their password with a download speed of 1.7 Mb/s. AC works with little noise. NO DISCOUNTS for anything (AAA, military, etc. ). The exterior and lobby suggest cheap but it's not. The beds are queen size and comfortable. The room was quiet. All 7 of us felt like it was the best night sleep we'd had in a while. When we checked in it was obvious that the family running the hotel is Hindu. That left me wondering why they had Gideon bibles and nothing about their religion. I also noticed they had the footprints of someone I assumed is important to Hindus framed on the wall of the office. So before leaving, I had to ask. The very nice man in the office (who really didn't speak English) kept saying,"he's in the book!" I asked which book? He went to another guest room and handed me a copy of Bhagavad Gita and told me to keep it, which I did. Apparently they keep both the Gideon bible and the Bhagavad Gita in rooms for their guests. My room just happened to be missing one. I considered it a bonus point for them offering something that no one else does.

It is the least expensive hotel in Shawnee, OK that I could find. $55+tax for 2 adults 2 beds one night. For the quality and the cleanliness, this is more of a $27 a night establishment. From the first step into the lobby, my skin started to crawl. Maybe it was from the sight of the giant fly paper trap hanging over the desk filled with giant insects, or maybe it was just from all the insects that didn't get trapped because it was so full. The first room that we were given, upon entering, the light switch didn't work and the beds weren't made, blankets thrown all over the room. At this point I remembered seeing the sign at the front desk counter, "NO REFUNDS". The second room was at least turned down. Had a musky smokey smell to it. Very dusty. Cob webs on the ceiling. Stains all over the bathroom and shower. "Clean" towels in the room had yellowish stains. Slept in my clothes on top of the made bed so to not disturb any creatures that lay bellow the sheets. Spend an extra 20 bucks and go to one of the many hotels down the street or take the $63 you were going to spend here for one night, set it on fire and sleep in the dumpster in the parking lot. It's probably cleaner.

Good luck sleeping here. The bed was like sleeping on bricks . Not able to shower ,it was stained ,dirty and shower liner was moldy. Chairs in the room were stained and dirty. Seen evidence of bed bugs will attach photos. Then to top it all off the owner was looking thru our window an hour before checkout while my husband was changing. It's worth paying extra to stay somewhere else . We had to find something last minute.

For $68 I should have been able to expect more than I got here. There was no Kleenex, hair dryer, or coffee machine in the room. I was dying to soak in a hot bath tub, but there was no plug in the tub. The beds seemed pretty clean, but the carpet could definitely have used a shampooing. Smelled kind of funky.

I wound not recommend staying at this hotel because they will walk into your room while your sleeping and don't knock.

I'm here visiting family from a considerable distance away... Needed one room one bed for my wife and I... Theroom was clean and the TV worked... Everything is ok except for the intolerable woman that they have managing the hotel... I'm new to the area and as such I don't know my way around.. So my family is periodically arriving at the hotel to show my wife and I around. The woman reminded us to not smoke in the room which we had not done as we hadn't booked a smoking room... However she reminded us no less than a dozen times in 15seconds that it was indeed a non-smoking room. And questioned us about the smoke in our mouths... Then reminded us that there are no visitors allowed to which I politely responded we have none... They are family there to show us around.... As so later on in the day we came back to shower and shave and relax for an hour or two before heading out again... Yes the family arrived to show us around a bit more and wouldn't you know it... I received a call in the room reminding me that visitors we're not allowed... Of course I saw no less than three "visitors" arrive and leave the room 2doors down.. presumably after purchasing a fine baggie of meth.

Clerk was very courteous. Room smelled as if it was an ashtray (it was a smoking room, but the odor was so strong, it's apparent that they don't use any type of odor neutralizer). Only 1 bar of soap for both the sink and tub, no Kleenex, no blanket, only a bedspread that had burn holes. Paper thin pillows, torn upholstery on the chairs, heater had a burning rubber odor. No coffee pot or blow dryer. They even charge for ice! Spend the extra money and stay at one of the others that are close by. We will not be returning to this Inn.
