This place is no longer 69 diner. Trying to be a more upscale steakhouse in rural Oklahoma is a bit of a stretch.

My coworker and I were on our way back from Muskogee and we're in search of something new but old style at the same time. We thought we were doomed to eating fast food or gas station when I found this place on Yelp. Once we stepped I side we both knew this is the place we were looking for. The food was very reasonably priced and the people were friendly. We both ordered the Hamburger steaks and they came with 3 sides. I ordered french fries for the fat kid inside of me and mashed potatoes and corn because why not. The corn I think was canned but still good, the mashed potatoes I believe we're instant but enjoyable, the gravy was perfect. The hamburger steak was also perfect and I'm a wierdo so I said no to the onions and I stead took shredded cheese and bacon. I couldn't have made a better meal if I was in back cooking. Great job! Also my coworker ordered a baked potato, okra, side salad as his side and said the butter tasted great and it's been a long time since he had a baked potato that was so fresh it actually melted the butter. We both plan on bringing our wives in the near future. Well worth the stop!!

middle of the road, nothing fancy. Just a small simple hometown diner with average food and good service. It's a little bit of a stare fest going on in there and don't try to act like a local they can pick out in a second. I had the chicken fry with veggies. The veggies were well seasoned too. The prices are very reasonable too. I will stop again.

This was recommended to us and it was very good. We had hamburgers. Onion rings didn't seem to be homemade but were still tasty. We will return when we visit the lake again.

If your looking for home style, delicious food with friendly service this is the place! We had a very enjoyable lunch at a good price. My husband had the grilled chicken breast which come with 3 sides & I had a patty melt, both were delicious. This is definitely a place we will come back to.

We eat here every chance we get when in Checotah. The food is excellent, reasonably price, and the service is wonderful.

I'm going to have to give 69 diners four stars due to the fact that it's a hit-or-miss whether or not they're even open I do like the owner I do like the people who work there they are friendly but you just don't know if they're even going to be open when you go by for a bite to eat

My family ate breakfast here the other day, and what started as an unpleasant experience has turned horrible. Initially, we thought we had found a little gem in Checotah, the food smelled good when we walked in but I suppose I should just attribute that to that fact we were all hungry. It took 45 minutes for our meal to be brought to our table, and when it was my wife and son's meals had been mixed up. Rather than take the meals back to the kitchen to get them sorted out we had to do it ourselves at the table. The omelette I ordered was mediocre at best and was something that I'd expect to find in a cafeteria, not a restaurant. My son, who is 18 and devours anything edible (teenage boys. Heh Parents know what I'm talking about.) didn't eat even half of his pancake, and pancakes are his favorite breakfast food. The gravy that came with my biscuit was so thick that I could have used it to repair drywall. I tried to thin it a little, but it was no good still. To make this experience worse all three of us have ended up sick. I'll spare the reader the details, but think something along the lines of food poisoning. One last thing, this place has changed its name. It's The Chophouse not 69 Diner.

Great food, great staff. This is the hometown of Carrie Underwood. That was some good fun conversation with a customer that I believe was a regular. That lady kept me entertained with conversation while waiting on my food.
