This is such an amazing museum! My family and I stumbled upon this through a recommendation when we were visiting the Oklahoma Firefighters Museum. The team member at the Firefighter's museum had mentioned that the 45th Infantry Division Museum was just down the road, and it is free! We decided to go check it out!I am so glad that we did! The museum has so much history, revolving around the 45th Infantry Division, also known as the Thunderbirds. My family and I learned a lot by going to the 45th Infantry Division Museum. The division had significant contributions during a variety of conflicts such as World War II and the Korean War.You'll be able to explore their comprehensive collection of artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that described the military journey. You will also see detailed information on training, battles, and sacrifices made by the soldiers of the 45th Infantry Division. Two of the most notable features is the Hall of Flags, where visitors can see the divisions distinctive flags and banners, as well as the outside area which has several tanks, helicopters, planes, and military vehicles. The Hall of Flags has symbols that represent the units and all the campaigns that the 45th Division was actively involved in. You will also see a variety of military equipment throughout all of the different conflicts, weaponry, and personal items. This is a phenomenal museum. We spent a few hours going through all the artifacts and reading the descriptions. Highly recommend visiting if you are local or visiting OKC.

What can I say? Tanks. Airplanes. Helicopters. Artillery. Guns. Knives. All this with a respectful telling of oklahoma participation in our country's military history. Go and see history in person.

This is an outstanding collection of military equipment and artifacts! I really wish we had more time to spend there. Outside there are static displays of equipment and aircraft previously used by the Oklahoma Army National Guard and Air National Guard, including a nice selection of tanks and rare transport vehicles. Don't skip going inside because it's a treasure trove of artifacts and weapons from militaries around the world! Late next summer they will be moving to a brand new location, but please visit this location before it closes.

Some good military history to be found here. I've been to The Eagles Nest, and to see some of the stuff that was grabbed in the liberation was amazing. I could only imagine trying to sneak Hitlers mirror out of the Army. Kudos to the retired veterans manning the museum. Only suggestion is some additional 45th ID gear for purchase at the gift store. A must visit for history buff and for the kids to be shown what pure hatred looked like in the 30-40's. Keep up the good work at the museum.(The A-7 needs a new paint job! - might be a good project for some Airmen at Tinker to take on)

First of all, there is no admission fee here so there's no excuse not to go! I went with a group of parents and kids. I had absolutely no interest in going so I was surprised at how great it was after all! My oldest daughter is a history and war buff so she thoroughly enjoyed it. My two grandkids were just more interested in running around in circles lol there's a wealth of information about every imaginable war. The battles that were fought here in our own state were very intriguing. Pictures, memorabilia, photographs, uniforms... So much interesting stuff! This was a great history lesson!

Several old tanks, planes, helicopters and military vehicles outside and museum on the inside. The inside is mostly old military rifles, but they also have a tank and old Jeeps. For free admission, this place is an awesome place to take the family. My 5 year old loved it! Make plans to go ASAP.

My husband and I enjoyed visiting this free museum. It's bigger than we thought it would be and spent a good hour and a half here, but we did spend a generous amount of time on each exhibit. They have some neat objects in display, including the largest public collection of Hitler's objects. You'll be surprised with how important the history of the 45th is: they helped to liberate Dachau and pillaged Hitler's Munich bunker shortly after he died.

You will seeing things in this museum you would've never expected to see in the state of Oklahoma! I've been to various military/history museums from the West Coast to the East Coast as well as museums in France and in Germany. This museum definitely surpasses some of the most esteemed museums with certain displays and rare one of a kind pieces. The primary scope of the museum is following the story of the 45th Infantry Division and the military history of the state of Oklahoma. Yet it branches out into other fields as well. It has a strong emphasis on firearms that outcompetes many of the museums I've been to. Museum feels very complete. 10/10Must for:-Must see for Bill Mauldin fans -Historical Firearms collectors of any era (especially US civil war, WWI/WW2)- Vehicle Enthusiasts -Oklahomans Weaknesses: -Uniforms

Absolutely amazing museum. We have been to many others but IMO, it is one of the BEST. The building appears small from the outside but is packed with information and exhibits. Outside, there are many vehicles and flying aircraft to look at. We were told that construction on a new museum nearby will begin in May 2024 with expected completion in two years. It will house even more items to discover. We hope to return again then.
