This event is a joy for your senses and quite a celebration for our community!! There's so much to see, taste, smell, hear, and the experience itself is wonderfully fun! Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) hosted their second annual fundraiser event in 2016. What's OVAC you ask? Great question! They are an arts council of sorts which is a non-profit organization that raises funds to promote the arts and artists in Oklahoma. They also provide a network of support for artists and art lovers alike. They bring art to the forefront of the conversation because they recognize the important role the arts play in our community. TO SEE: Their annual fundraising event is dubbed "12x12" and has been hosted the past two years at the Science Museum Oklahoma. The idea is for local artists to create artwork that is 12 inches by 12 inches in size. At the event, all pieces are showcased; there's a silent auction (bids start at $175) and all proceeds benefit OVAC. Also, there's LOTS of folks that come out supporting OVAC and local artists. It's an event to see and be seen!TO TASTE & SMELL:Though our local artists are the real stars at this event, our local chefs had quite a good showing, too! Local restaurants bring some of their best appetizer samples to share with the crowd. Some of my favorites from the evening were creations from Café 7, The Metro Wine Bar & Bistro, Picasso Café, Pizzeria Gusto, Prairie Gypsies, Vast, and VZD's Restaurant & Bar. TO HEAR:There's local muscians playing at this event throughout the evening. They did a great job helping to create a lovely atmosphere.A CELEBRATION!This event represents some of the best of what our community has to offer: celebrating creativity, the arts, and each other's talents. What a fun way to spend an evening! I am looking forward to seeing all the great programs, projects, grants and art-centric conversations that OVAC is able to share with our community as a result of this event.Congratulations at such a great event, OVAC!

12x12 was such a great event! Beautiful and fascinating art, plenty of delicious food, drink and people... what's not to love? Our local artists are very talented and there was something for everyone to enjoy! The food was equally as fantastic as the art! So many local restaurants with all types of delicious savory and sweet food and desserts. It was heavenly! All around a fantastic night thanks to OVAC (the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition)!

A great fundraiser for the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition. The Science Museum was a fun venue for hosting this event. They let us roam around the museum if we wanted to.Walking in; I was greeted by friendly ambassadors of the Coalition who assisted me with determining if I was a spectator, sponsor, artist, or if I was lost. After a friendly concession I was on my way. I attempted to get a drink , but I was just starving so I made my way to the food. They had live music, and some interesting acrobatic/aerobatic performers. The music alternated a few times, and each musician had their own style of music. It was a great event. There was a ton of food there from restaurants I was familiar with, and some I've never heard of. It was all great, and I was surprised at the quality of the food considering it was catered in.

This was a spectacular event! You walk up the escalator and it's magical. You first see an artist dancing in a display window as you check in and go through security. This part was a little confusing as many people were going to the wrong table and having to ask what to do. From there though, the event went smooth and ready the night got away quite quickly. Art Every artist entered a 12x12 piece of art. There was a silent auction or you could "buy now" for a designated priced. It was eclectic and interesting on all sides of the media spectrum. Some you couldn't help but gaze at and others just made you smile.Food The amount of food served at this event was above and beyond any other event, I have ever attended. A variety of restaurants, new and senior, created their best culinary treats to delight some very strong critics. My favorites included the Italian sandwiches and fried risotto, the array of cheeses and stuffed dates, bacon wrapped jalapeños and cucumber and avocado chilled soups(Please reference pictures for each restaurant representative). Also, there was a cash bar. Overall, I will absolutely attend this event again next year and I will be bringing friends. You can't beat a great night, good food and intriguing art displays, while raising money for your local artists.

Fun night at 50 Penn Place, and a great turnout! Delicious treats-my favorites were Big Truck Tacos (that shredded Nacho ) and the s'mores pops from Elemental Coffee. They even had dancers inside glass boxes performing for us-a first for me!The art was so unique and several different styles were represented.

What an incredible event! 12x12 is the fundraiser for Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC).With many local restaurants contributing to the evening's hors d'ouevres, OVAC's annual fundraiser showcases local emerging artists. There were many amazing pieces and the place was packed!!I was honored to be able to share this event with 4 friends who were unfamiliar with OVAC. Everyone had a great time, bid on some art, ate some delicious food, and meet some incredible people.Perpetual Motion entertained the patrons throughout the space and live vocal entertainment was provided by Lincka & Harumph. It was unfortunate that another art related event was happening the same time across town, but it was great to still see so much support.

OVAC 12x12 was definitely the place to be on a Saturday evening! OVAC 12x12 is a fundraiser for the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, featuring a great deal of art to be auctioned off. There were many art displays from canvases to 3D structures to performers, more than enough to keep one intrigued and entertained. Taste of OKC was there catering, featuring 25 different OKC restaurants. All the food to be had! This was a great opportunity for guests to explore the different restaurants and get a feel of the large variety of food OKC has to offer. Overall if you want to enjoy great food and beautiful art, you are in good company to be going to OVAC 12x12.

This is such a fun event! I love the variety in the artwork and that it all has to be a 12x12 square. There is truly a lot of creativity that encompasses this fundraiser. There was also lots of yummy food and even some restaurants represented that you usually don't see at other tasting events. The layout worked pretty well overall. It started getting really crowded though, so plan to get there early to make sure you can try all of what's offered and better your chances of getting your favorite work of art. The art could be bid on but also bough outright, which many pieces seemed to be. I'd love to keep attending in the future. OVAC sure knows how to throw a party!

Ummm...Great time as usual. I have a blast at this event every time that I visit. The local artists and local tastes of Oklahoma blow me away every time. Not to mention that this is event is a melting pot of all sides of the metro and all kinds of different people with different points of views. I strike up at least three random conversations whenever in attendance at the great art show. I am definitely looking forward to attending this show again next year and hopefully I can treat someone who have never been. Kudos OVAC......
