Okama

My wife and I visited Okama Japanese restaurant today and were pleasantly surprised. The service was prompt and very polite, and the food arrived within minutes, tasting delicious. The restaurant was also clean and well-maintained. Will be back.

Yummy food! I've been looking for a more than decent place to have sushi in Chula Vista and this place fits the bill.Good service, good food. Room for improvement on the cleanliness.Nonetheless, I'm so glad we found this place! Will be coming back!

5 stars for overall ramen experience in Chula Vista. I love how this place has sushi, hibachi AND ramen options. There's a dish for everyone! I ordered the spicy miso with no bean sprouts and replaced the pork with shrimp tempura. I'm personally not a big fan of pork. I love how the spicy miso has a nice kick too it and it's not too spicy! My husband got the spicy chicken ramen. He pretty much inhaled it lol. The broth is flavorful and the toppings added texture. We share the Las Vegas roll too. It was super tasty and spicy. Our daughter enjoyed the chicken kids hibachi plate! It came with sauce and soup. We were most impressed with the service here. We were seated immediately on a cold Saturday evening. The restaurant was quite packed because of the cold weather. Once our order was taken, our food came out in less than 10 minutes! We were pleasantly surprised and loved this since we have a toddler. The employees were very attentive throughout our dinner; making sure we always had drinks and everything was going smoothly. We're excited to come back and support this restaurant! I'm looking forward to trying the steak ramen next time.

I barely leave an unfavorable review, but I had to leave one for this restaurant. I came here before my friend because we decided on sushi. I walked in, and there was no one at the hostess stand. I stood near the hostess stand, confused if I should stay where I was at. I stayed in the front for several minutes, and I walked up to one of the workers to ask where I should wait. He said I needed to wait by the door. I went back, and the rest of staff ignored me while I waited by the door. There was no acknowledgment of my presence in the 10 minutes or so of waiting, so I decided to leave. All I needed was a simple acknowledgement. Unfortunately, my friend and I left and took our business elsewhere.

We've been coming here for awhile now, always forget to take pics (we dive right in). Husband always gets the combo hibachi. Huge portion, always enough to take home. The spicy miss tonkatsu, is my usual. We usually change it up on the appetizers between the gyoza, karage, edamame, or jalapeno. The rolls, are not their specialty at least the ones we've tried. But the kids enjoy the las Vegas roll, I think its a bit small for the price. All that being said, the owners are the cutest and sweetest which makes coming here a plus. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do :)

Parking: It's located within a shopping plaza with a good amount of food restaurants but parking was easy and I was close to the store,Service: Having llved in Japan for almost 3 years the customer service is A-1, Being here reminded me of that. The server spoke to us soon as we sat down inform us of the different drinks that they had avallable which I liked. I've no issue at all with how my family and myself was servicedFood: I ordered the Grilled shrimp ramen which was very delicious! I finished every single thing that was within the bowl and I slurped from time to time to compliment the chef for a job well done. I also had the vegetable gyoza and fried jalapeno tempura which were both amazing as well! I've no complaints when it came to the food which is always great, Lastly, I ordered the fried cheesecake for dessert that I shared with my daughter and she enjoyed it as much as 1 did. The cheesecake was roughly 5% still frozen, but not enough for me to complain about it.Ambiance: the store itself is very welcoming with plenty of seating. They had a radio station playing through their overhead which had a great diversity of music from hiphop, inb, and to classical rock. Wifi is available which is great due to there's not a strong cell phone signal within the building. They were very receptive in me asking for the password, as it's at the front to where the register is located.Overall: I enjoyed myself here. It's not far from where I reside so l'll be making more trips here. 1'lI probably be trying out the sushi or the hibachi next since it looks delicious in their photos.Looking forward to the next time!5/5

This was a cute small restaurant. It served ramen and side of sushi. It is reasonably priced. Lots of seating and the service was pretty good. Our drinks were refilled and the server kept checking on us. We ordered two ramen. One ramen was your regular tonkatsu. And the other had lobster in it. To have a lobster in your ramen is special. The sushi were good. We got regular roles of yellowtail, ahi, and salmon. And we got the crunch roll too. Takoyaki was another one that we ordered. Fresh and hot. Anyway, I would go here again.

It was our first time in this resto, the portions were generous. I decided to get the pork tonkutso, the pork was fried/seared it was a bit dry. I prefer the traditional steamed/boiled pieces of pork. My son was satisfied with his tempura ramen, it came with 2pieces of tempura, 3 would have been better considering the generous amount of noodles. We also got katsu ramen, the fried chicken was on the side, it was a bit dry as well but my son was okay with it. The eggs on all the ramen was perfectly cooked. The broth was too salty for us. The eel roll was good however, the roll was not too tight, the rice and ingredients are falling off.The service was fast and the staff were friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant was clean and bright.

The best ramen in Eastlake hands down! Definitely will return again. Service was fast and friendly. I'm definitely a fan of Okama.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I almost don't want to leave a review, because we like keeping it to ourselves. But, they absolutely deserve this review. If you like hibachi - this is the place! They cook it in the back, but it is delicious! You can't beat their lunch menu and the price. Meat, rice, veggies, soup and salad for anywhere from $14-$20. The owners wait on the tables and they are super kind and attentive. They already know exactly how we like things when we go in. The food is ready almost too quick! Our adult children also love their ramen. I promise, you will not ever regret visiting Okama. You can thank me later
