Oi Shiba

Some of the tastiest ramen I have had in the San Diego area. The red ramen was creamy and flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Noodles and pork were cooked spot on. Wife had black ramen that was equally delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Glad to have this joint in the neighborhood.

Our server was Jacky and he was very knowledgeable about the whole menu, telling us about each menu item and what was popular. He was also very attentive while we were dining.My husband got their white shiba (classic tonkotsu broth), I got their green shiba (pesto broth!), and also the chicken karaage. All the food was delicious as you can see by the empty bowls. Give them a try!

A welcome addition to the area. Excellent ramen. Definitely the best in PB and some of the best I've had in San Diego. Menu is fairly simple but each ramen is flavorful and nicely composed. Thinly sliced chashu and perfectly cooked eggs. The broth is flavorful and just the right amount of fattiness. Noodles are perfectly cooked. Prefer this to Nishiki which is another favorite SD ramen.

As someone who owns a shiba I knew I had to come here the moment I saw it. I was not disappointed!Broth was amazing and I really liked the noodle texture, nice and bouncy. My family got some of the other flavors and their noodled felt overcooked, but that could be my personal taste. Ambiance felt really fun and the server was super nice, though I think he forgot about my ramen and had to put in another order for it (he had given it to someone else). Food came out quick though so it wasn't a problem.The ramen has a great, rich broth, that is perfectly seasoned to not be overly salty. I also loved the amount of green onion that comes with these! I would say the eggs are a great texture, just needs to be marinated longer/lacked a bit of flavor. Chashu was good but I would have preferred a thicker cut as the thin slice came a bit chewy and dry. The portion was a bit small for the price, but the rich broth is nice and filling so I left feeling super satisfied. The waiter came and spoke to us about his process creating the menu items and I really appreciated it! He said something about only putting things he thought were really delicious in the menu, and it made me realize how much they value the quality of their dishes here. I am glad to say these efforts are visible with the results. Overall, good spot for some tonkotsu style ramen. May not be the most traditional but it doesn't take away from the great flavors; this ramen is original and tasty by the waiter himself.

Oi Shiba is a new ramen shop that has debuted this weekend at a suite in the Clock Tower Plaza of PB. The ownership is the same as that of the restaurant empire featuring Steamy Piggy in the Convoy District. The suite was not particularly large with sufficient seating for about two dozen customers. The parking situation was ideal with lots of shared spaces with the neighboring businesses that don't have heavy patronage.The one-page menu was simple with six Shiba (ramen) bowls featured, all named after a color plus one veggie variety. The remaining offerings were three deep fried sides, four drinks, and a dessert. I chose the Takoyaki and the White Shiba for my meal. The deep fried battered octopus balls topped with bonito flakes were served as eight pieces. I would say that the presentation of this side dish was one of the better versions I have seen. The crispiness of the fritters was just fine.The bowl contents were chashu pork, tonkotsu broth, wood ear mushrooms, scallion, egg, and noodles. The pork was sliced thin while an entire soft boiled egg was included. The broth was heavier than I preferred. The diameter of the noodles was mid-range, not too thin or thick. The service from the waitress was fine. The prices on the menu sheet may differ slightly from that on the website so note the possible variation(s).

One of the best ramen spots in San Diego, potentially the best I've had here!! Seriously excellent quality, flavor, noodles perfectly cooked, the egg was amazing Service is solid. Our boy Kyle was super fast and polite. Awesome little spot with great vibes too.

This ramen was DELICIOUS.I got the White Shiba. Broth was creamy and flavorful! The egg was cooked perfectly. Noodles has right amount of chew. Staff was super friendly

The ramen was Delicious!! I tried the black Shiba option, and my goodness it was delectable. It has strong flavors but nothing too overpowering. Very balanced, most times black oil ramens tend to end up being too oily due to tonkutsu being on the fattier side.Not here! The noodles were thick enough and chewy and the added ingredients were a great addition to the dish. The smallest of gripes is maybe the chasu was a little thin, but it made it up in flavor and texture.The aesthetics were really chill. I loved the art they have on the walls. Plus the neon signs on the ceiling were a unique touchThe service also was great right as we walked in greeted and seated. Gio, our server, was very attentive and offered to explain the menu to us, as it was our first time. Refilled waters and happily answered any questions we had about the place.Definitely coming back!

Fantastic food, excellent service, and fun decorations. I would absolutely recommend it. I got the Yellow Shiba, and got to taste the White and Black Shibas, and they were all delicious
