Off The 8 Cafe

Cute little cafe with only booths and no extra chairs! 1 out of the 2 high chairs for the babies had a broken seat belt.. and we had 3 babies in our party. That was probably the only downside of this place. Food was good! Pancakes were delicious. I ordered the country fried steak (yummy) which came with hashbrowns and 3 eggs! I recommend it. The rest of my party ordered omelets and they were satisfied!Girls who were working were very nice and accommodating. Food came out at a reasonable time and the prices were affordable. Hope to be back here when I come to alpine!! I want to bring the husband

First off, dog friendly patio. I have come to really like this little place. It has a family owned vibe, the servers are friendly, attentive and fast. The service here is top shelf. The food is simple and good. The ABC burger is solid and the salads are fresh tasty and good. The food overall is fresh with a pared down simple style. The plates, silverware and napkins are excellent quality which is a detail that is overlooked in lots of places. This is a good meal when you're hungry and well worth supporting.Is this a 5 star review, well no. The food is fresh and not pretentious so it may disappoint some, but I support good effort and I always leave satisfied.

Came to Viejas Casino and resort and we were looking for a breakfast spot nearby. I found this spot on Yelp and it was only 8 minutes away. They were pretty busy when we got there but we got a table outside right away. The staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions. We had the Off The 8 skillet and it was good and filling. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you're visiting the area.

What a great find! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here after hiking in Descanso early in the morning. I got the eggs, Benedict with chorizo, and it was delicious. My husband got the skillet, lots of great flavors! We ordered the Red Velvet crêpes to go, and I took a bite while they were hot. Yum! We will definitely be back. Great service, no wait, plenty parking, and easy to get to.

Servers were busy and not too interested in my disappointment, however they were courteous. I ordered a pastrami no mustard no pickles and I had about 2 slices of Pastrami meat. Definitely not the "HAT" it was not enjoyable at all. Do not order the pastrami.Even though this was my first time here won't be back.

Amazing every time, both food and service!I had the Country Benedict (again!) and hubby had the ABC omelette. Good coffee. Generous portions, friendly accommodating service, clean gender-neutral restrooms. Some outdoor seating if that's your thing. It's in a retail center with other restaurants, a liquor store, a Chase bank. Literally just a few yards off Interstate 8. Plentiful parking.

MY GO TO SPOT when I'm at alpine!!! A must stop restaurant before you head to alpine or the casino. The proteins are worth the price! They are huge!! Service is great, staff is friendly and love the place. Ambience is very home feeling.

We stopped for lunch and split the Blue burger. Medium rare. It came on a brioche bun with avocado. Melt in your mouth!!! Service was on point and the place had inside and outside dining. It was also full inside and outside so there might be a little wait. This was Sunday at noon so we expected it. We spoke with the server and she said it changed name and owner a little over a year ago. A previous server bought it from the previous owner. We like to support the local mom and pops so we will be happy to come back.

Thank you.I had a Spinach omelet with country fries, a pancake and a slice of sour dough toast. I tried all of it, took home most of it! and order a short stack of pancakes for the grandbabies! I will definitely go back for more!Ambiance was pleasant inside was quiet while I was there (early a.m.) there is also outdoor seating.

A True Hidden Treasure! One of the only places in the East County area that has CREPES! Beyond Delicious as well! A hometown feeling as soon as you walk in the door! The staff is amazing and sweet as the Crepes! The eggs were literally PERFECT and the Burger was delicious too!I can't wait to come back with the kids and try the Oreo Crepes or the Chocolate Chip ones for them!! 10 Stars
