Big tacos. Cheap tacos. Delicious tacos. Big cheap delicious tacos? Yes. That's enough to at least give this place a shot. All tacos include guacamole. That's wild. I love it. Planning on coming on again in the next week or two to try something other than tacos, but...Tried all 4 tacos in one go (split each one down the middle so we could both try all four). They're hearty, they don't skimp on the meat or fixins. Sauces were bomb. Service was friendly. Prices are crazy low. Did I mention the tacos? You gotta try this place.

Picked up an online order today and they didn't give us two water bottles and a side of hot carrots that we paid for ($5 lost). The Mini Torta Chilaquiles that we ordered had ZERO chilaquiles despite the description saying that it has chilaquiles verdes. It only had egg, sauce, and cheese.Bean and cheese burrito and salsas were good. This place looks promising but beware of online ordering.

Best mini torta chilaqiuiles ever. They know flavor.I also got an adobada mini burrito, but the chilaquile took the spotlight, hands down!Their mini menu is actually more than just mini. These are huge!My sisters weren't able to finish their breakfast burritos in 1 sitting, I inhaled mines but did offer before chowing down if they wanted to try.Cute set up to grub, but you will be standing up. Nice and friendly staff. They're generous with giving out their sauce lolWould mos def come back here if I'm in the area, but let me tell you I was thinking about how good their chilaquiles were the rest of the day.

Ocho Mexican Food & Cafe is a service window operating out of a residential structure in the Bankers Hill neighborhood. The name was misleading as the business didn't represent a traditional "cafe" in any sense. The official grand opening was about 10 days ago. There was no on-site seating, just a few high-top tables out front if you wanted to stand and consume your order. Curbside parking in this area was a mix of metered spots and two hour free spaces. The posted menu was a bit difficult to read because of the window glare. The food categories were breakfast burritos and plates, mini and regular burritos, nachos/fries, elote, mini tortas, tacos, bowls, and quesadillas. Beverages included coffee, sodas, agua frescas, juices and water. It was a wide selection for a small kitchen operation. I chose a Breakfast Cali Burrito for my takeout order.Steak, egg, cheese, sour cream, and french fries were stuffed inside a flour tortilla. For $11.99, you were getting a standard California burrito with eggs added but no guacamole or pico de gallo. The burrito was fresh off the grill and very warm when I received my wrapped package. I enjoyed the protein and carbs without needing to apply the green and red salsa that was provided.I do wish that an umbrella or some type of canopy cover was added to each of the high top tables. Now that we are in the middle of summer, eating Mexican food while standing in an unshaded spot can become very uncomfortable in the middle of the day. Other than that, I did not have any other criticism of my visit to Ocho Mexican Food & Cafe.

Ocho is Spanish means eight.OCHO is a mexican food stand which is actually a converted garage behind the listed address, 1870 4th St stands a Spanish style multi unit house. But walk behind it on Fir Street and you'll see this mexican food stand. The address should be corrected to Fir Street since this food stand is across the street from 300 Fir St., Sharp Rees- Stealy Medical Buildint. Only outdoor seating, no umbrella for shade, 4 tall tables, no seatings. Order and pick up from the window. Order taker was efficient and nice enough to explain some of the contents of the food I ordered. Because I would feel more comfortable to actually sit, I ordered everything TOGO. As soon as I picked up my order from the window, I took some obligatory photos for posting. From the menu, the OCHO signature burrito and an elote a Mexican corn on the cob looked appealing and were recommended by the lady behind the window. It had been years, since I've eaten a burrito or eaten from a food stand, so I had some trepidation. I chose carne asada beef meat for the burrito, which was sizable as burritos are, so I cross cut it to see the contents, it was loaded with sliced beef, beans, bacon. After a few pics, one bite, I was NOT impressed, especially since it was their signature burrito. The tortilla was NOT freshly hand made, not soft and wasn't thoroughly heated up, the beef meat was too chewy tough and blend of flavors was lacking fresh veggies of ingredients: diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeños are what I would have like to see and taste. I suggest you have these added to your burrito to enhance the lack of taste. The elote mexican corn on the cob had a coating of crushed flaming hot Cheetos which gave it an intimidating look, but beware there was no crunch and absolutely zero spicy heat, a bit of a let down. It was my first time eating this version of elote, my curiosity is satisfied and now I know NOT to order it again, sadly recommended by the window staffer. I prefer the OG version of elote with butter and cotija mexican cheese and chile, which is offered on the menu. The stand out items were the salsas both the red and green were both flavorful and fresh tasting. Added the salsas to the corn to give it mas savor.Because the food stand opens early 7am, my guess is they cater to a breakfast crowd and mostly from workers at the SHARP Rees-Stealy medical building on 300 Fir Street, which is across the street, from this stand, so their breakfast items like breakfast burritos are popular and probably has higher turnover of the ingredients, thus fresher. The outdoor area looked clean, the tabletop need to be cleaned after diners who sometimes don't clean up and trash debris is left.Staff was patient, nice and helpful. Perhaps you don't mind standing while eating and maybe your food order will taste better, to your liking.

Stumbled upon this place while walking in bankers hill and decided to try some tacos. They were all excellent. Our two favorites were the adobada with pineapple and the carnitas. They tacos are good sized and packed with meat and guac! Staff was lovely. You order at the counter so this is more of a to-go place although they do have some tables you can stand at and eat.

This little new place is pushing out some good eats. I had the build you own breakfast burrito for $10.95 plus tax with scrambled eggs, bacon, regular potatoes, cheese, and avocado. First of all, I loved the buttery flour tortillas they used for their burritos. They are certainly keepers. As for the rest of the burrito, well, it was delicious. The eggs were well scrambled and seasoned, the bacon on point, the potatoes were good, and the avocado was perfect in this burrito. The burrito was delicious and filling.I tried both hot sauces, red and green. They were both tasty and offered mild heat. The service was very nice at the window. The ladies had a good sense of humor. They only offer outside standing tables.

Located downtown across the street from the Sharp Rees-Stealy downtown location. Parking is metered on the street, so be aware. There are a few standing tables, so not really set up for a large sit down party. More of a take and go type a spot. The staff is friendly and the menu has enough options without being overwhelming. I decided on the surf and turf burrito but subbed out rice for beans. The tortilla seemed liked it was made to order and all the ingredients were fresh and well seasoned. Very good burrito. I'll definitely be back to sample more on the menu when I'm back downtown.

Great Mexican food at reasonable price. 3 taquitos were yummy and the elote (corn) was to die for. Outdoor, standing up eating or takeaway. Great neighborhood gem.

Breakfast burritos were amazing!! They had a variety of options to choose from, as well as coffee and other food and beverages. Cute walk up restaurant with some shaded tables in front to stand and eat.
