Really good Chinese food and free parking! Came here early evening on a Sunday and the place was practically empty. Has a nice old school Chinese restaurant vibe. All of the food was really good. We went back for seconds on the bbq pork chow mein and the wings. Peking duck with the pinch buns was really good too. They also have a full bar which we appreciated. I'd say the only downside was the service wasn't great. Had to flag down our server for more rounds of drinks and water. She seemed distracted and didn't check on us much, even though we were literally 1 of 3 seated tables in the place. Overall, our group really enjoyed the meal. I'd like to come back for dim sum soon!

I haven't eaten here since pre Covid and so glad they were able to survive the pandemic with take out only. This place reminds me of the great old Cantonese restaurants when growing up. The food is quite good and could rate equally with fancy high scale Chinese places I eat at in LA. The wonton noodles was superb with noodles with the right texture and not over cooked. The wonton was prepared perfectly without overcooking. The pea sprouts were a solid grade of A without making it too oily. I need to come back on my next trip to Seattle to try more dishes.Very nice and pleasant folks here too.

The honey walnut prawns and Mongolian beef were great! The tea at the table was good and a nice touch on a cold day. We got the almond fried chicken and it was half tender and half tough, we ate half so the good pieces were good. The chicken chow mein was the most odd flavor, it also didn't have bamboo shoots or celery like most common places. Just stringy noodles and green onion. Wish we got fried rice instead! Will try next time

Canceled all orders on Christmas Day. Instead of canceling the dinner order and lunch order together, they decided to cancel the lunch order right before lunch and dinner order right before dinner. Great Christmas!

Food was horrible. The Congee was so salty it was inedible. There were shrimp claws in my beef rice rolls. The Chinese donut was dripping with oil. overall a poor experience. I was hungry so I ate the rice roll. it was a little crunchy but I had to get back to work.

There are no dim sum restaurants in Spokane. Since I was visiting Seattle, I went straight to Chinatown looking for a dim sum feast. I was attracted by Ocean Star's sign, reading: "Dim Sum for Lunch". I went inside to sample the bill o' fare. I ordered from a menu that included photos of the varied offerings. No dim sum carts here. Since I brought a couple plastic containers to cart a lot home, I ordered enough for four. The server looked askance at the size of the order, but soon dim sum was piling up on the table. My scheme was to eat one of everything I ordered and pack the rest up for the flight home. The dim sum was tasty and very generously sized. I ate my fill and packed the rest in my backpack. My wife and I enjoyed the dim sum for a couple days after. I am originally from Los Angeles and had enjoyed dim sum in Chinatown and across the San Gabriel Valley. It was nice to experience the "flavors of home" in Seattle. I was very glad I came.

If your are an experienced Dim Sum customer. There is a couple of things that become very apparent. For a Dim Sum restaurant to be successful, The Dim Sum absolutely needs to be fresh. In order to keep fresh ingredients, you need to have a volume of customers. If you don't have that volume, you attempt to cut costs. Once you cut costs, the customer traffic dies. It's a horrible balancing act. If you can't keep that high volume traffic. You are done.Like many of the other Dim Sum offerings in the area. They have a menu and no carts. I dislike this for the fact that a very good Dim Sum restaurant will have a much larger variety with the carts. Some items are not as common. Often a few special items are reserved for weekends only. That is missing when you resort to a fixed menu for Dim Sum.I was here months ago. And at that time the food was pretty good. Some of the items were not as good, but passable. The advantage this restaurant has is parking. So I decided not to fight parking today. Unfortunately, this time around the food was not good. Ha gow or the beef wrapped noodles it felt old. It's the type of behavior when something has been under the steamer too long. The wrap just disintegrates. The shrimp noodle wrap, the shrimp were few and tiny. The beef meatball flavoring was off. My daughter only ate half of one and that is her favorite dish. Garlic string beans was watery. Sesame balls exterior texture was ok. The interior was not as filled with red bean paste. Insult to injury, I had stomach problems a few hours later.Lunch crowd time on the weekend. Any good Dim Sum restaurant should be packed. We were the 5th table in the restaurant. In general, this feels like an establishment on the decline. Ocean Star was formerly Sun Ya, which was a long time staple in the area. As is there are much better options nearby. I would recommend Jade Garden or Honey Court. Jade Garden I'm not sure if they have carts. Honey Court has also resorted to menu item order, but the food is still fresh and you'll often find the restaurant packed.

The absolute worst. Steamed DimSum was cold, doughy and tasted odd. Pastry (baked) dishes (bbq pork buns) had practically no filling. Fried items (dumplings, egg rolls etc.) were fried in a strange oil and egg rolls were undercooked. Everything other than the green beans was inedible. We left a table full of uneaten items, and brought nothing home. A pretty awful (and expensive) experience. Parking is great, but you are better off staying in the car.
