We had a fabulous time tasting on this admittedly forest fire smokey Saturday at Obelisco. Although Armageddon appears to be approaching from the east, both from nature and the White House, a perfect way to deal with disaster is getting buzzed. Noon seems to be a the optimum time to start imbibing. The man and woman serving us were absolutely delightful, I didn't get their names unfortunately. They put any "Seattle freeze" away and allowed us to forget about life for a while. The wines were great, although surprisingly I liked the Sauvignon Blanc and the Rose the best. Obelisco is known for its reds, but they do not aim for the barnyard funk I enjoy. Yet, my family liked the wines, as they find my palate "gross." I purchased some Sauvignon Blanc, and our day began with an uplifting buzzareeno. What smoke? My eyes are tearing from laughter.

We walked in and tried the flight and this quickly became one of our all-time favorite wineries. Their wines make an instant impression. The Woodinville Warehouse District has a lot of tasting rooms. Some are minimalist, some are packed with bright-eyed noisy people bobbing their heads to live music. Most have their own personality somewhere between those two extremes. Obelisco felt the most like being invited into someone's home to relax together over a glass of good wine. You walk in to see big dark furniture, pretty old rugs, and oil paintings for sale on the walls. The first thing you see is the bar, but there are tasting spaces past that, tucked in between racks of barrels. It's all decorated like a friendly, welcoming home. One of the friendliest bartenders in the history of bartending greeted us, sat us, opened our tab, and had glasses of wine in front of us in a couple of minutes. They start you here with sauv blanc, which is lovely and shows a nice note of melon-y fruit and a bit of mineral. Lots of places get good results with sauv blanc these days, which is wonderful when the weather warms up.We tried 7 different reds, which showed wonderful variety. Great cab, great merlot. Remarkable cab rose, which was surprisingly unsweet for a rose. Great sangiovese that stands up beautifully against the bigger wines but still offers your palate a respite from the heavier bodies and flavors. An all-cab dessert wine that was shockingly easy to drink. They had an extended flight option that included a very complex and somewhat higher-priced cab as well, and that was without a doubt the wine of the entire day for us, if not the best wine we've had this year. We had such fun chatting with our bartender and learning bits of info about everything we tried, along with general banter about food and wine from all over around here. The wines and service here are incredible, and the space is really lovely. This is easily worth many repeat visits, and it's the wine club we're likeliest to join. Their Hollywood Hills tasting room features 5-year cabernet verticals on a regular basis. We can't wait to check that out.

Obelisco makes some damn good wines. The cabs, in particular, are beautiful and are great to drink now or lay down for a while and dazzle your friends in a year or two.

A couple in our group was raving about this place as they're members and have hosted many events here. The property is so cute and makes you feel like you're sitting outside of your own home with a wrap around porch. Really cool ambiance. This location specializes in reds, which I can't have too many of due to my chronic migraines ( red wine is a major trigger). But I could tell from the Rosè that there was red influence there as well. Which is probably why I wasn't a fan of the flavor. Everyone else did sampling's and they loved the Merlot. Their light snacks are totally worth it! $12 for a huge cheese plate. It was a real hit at the table and I personally am going to come back just for the cheese plate! I am looking to sample more wines, but this was the last stop of the day and my taste buds were not welcoming to new flavors by the time we made it here.

This is a review for the warehouse district location-if you are looking for a review on the tasting room, you'll need to check out the other location they have in Woodinville.Fun area to explore and stop in for wine tasting and also become members (that's what we did). Love all the wines they offer and especially the reds. Quality, quality, and quality! Friendly staff with a nice tasting space (2 areas) and they also have a private dining area that you can rent and see through a window.I love the crackers they make available.

Yum! We are fans for sure. Can't wait to get into their wine club (wait list). Obelisco has a small tasting room in the warehouse district. We love all the red wines, they are great! It can get crowed on the weekends.Tasting room gal is very sweet and knowledgable. We purchased a bottle of the 2012 Cab Electrum. Looking forward to drinking it!

Great wines! We tasted six different wines, one white and five reds. Everything was super delicious and I wished I would have been able to get a bottle of everything. I especially loved the Syrah and the 2014 Cab Sav.We also got to taste the 2015 III Nefer (additional tasting) which was amazing! They only sell this bottle in packs of three so we couldn't justify $375 on three bottles so instead opted for bottles of the Syrah and Cab which was great at the $50 price point each. The staff there was also really great. The tasting room was pretty quiet so they let us go in their banquet room and watch the Seahawks game that was on! Overall great wines and company at this tasting room!

I don't know why this place wasn't packed when we stopped in. They make beautiful wine. I recently had the Electrum. It was a 2010 and stunning. (Potpourri, marzipan, iron dust, dried cherries, Kalamata olives, after 13 years, she has held up well with a beautiful bouquet of dried, dusty fruits and flowers, a hint of earthiness, and luscious velvety tannins. This is a treat). I stopped in to get another bottle to lay down, so in 2033 I can relive the magic.
