My plan was this: give a Mexican restaurant near my house a second chance. It was closed; Monday. Went to Google and asked for nearby Mexican restaurants, and the Oaxaca Restaurant at 2316 W. Bethany Home showed. Never been there, cute little place, bright and clean. The waiter was a pleasure. He was smart, helpful, and nice. He explained the food to me and helped me choose. (Little old lady from Wisconsin here.) I ordered the cheese enchiladas with green sauce, but declined the steak that came with the order. The food was great! The prices are almost too reasonable. Four enchiladas and a side order of steak for $8.99! $8.99 was the highest price on the menu. But - because of Covid their business is very slow. I was there at 1130 and only three tables were filled. Let's help them out. Please! It's an excellent restaurant with great service and food. I highly recommend the Oaxaca Restaurant.

I had a craving for Caldo de Res and my usual place closed early for some reason, so I thought I'd give this place a try.Post Covid, I guess I'm getting accustom too crappy service. This place managed to achieve that. The soup was okay. The broth was not as deep and rich as my usual place. My date's enchiladas were in a watery sauce which was unusual. It tasted okay but not very satisfying.I probably won't come back here, there are too many good Mexican restaurants in Phoenix.

Went to this restaurant a couple of days ago with some friends. A small hole in the way with a bit of charm. Photos of Mexican -American history on one wall, Nick nacks and snack items on the other side of this small location.Sparse items on the menu, but does give a good selection keeping in mind location size.Great service, one waitress one new cook.Chips and what was supposed to pass for dip brought to table. Good chips, dip had very little flavor, neither the red or green sauce had any real flavor, very bland.Meals arrive in good time. First bite on each item gives the same taste as the dip. A bit of flavor, barely. Over all each of us were disappointed in the meals, yet each of us knew that there was no need to have each meal redone as the new cook would not change the way he cooked the meals and waitress could not do anything either.Overall we have each decided that we will not visit this Mexican restaurant again. If you want a somewhat favorable but bland meal then this is the place for you. If you like your Mexican/American food with zest, spicy and good flavor then you will want to look elsewhere.

This is the sister (perhaps a better term would be "offspring") restaurant of the Oaxaca Restaurant on 27th Avenue near Northern Avenue. This one is spacious and brightly-lit, and although its interior doesn't have the bright colors of its parent restaurant two miles northwest of it, its tidy standard restaurant seating and tables do give it nice casual atmosphere. Framed historic photographs of Francisco Villa and others fill the western wall of the establishment. The menu is identical to that of its parent restaurant. Because I came on a Tuesday (taco day of course), I ordered the cecina and tasajo tacos - both very tasty, i know I'll be ordering more on future visits. I also ordered a cecina gordita - my first gordita ever and now I know I've been missing something really good all these years I've been indulging in Mexican food in the Valley. I also need to mention that they have very good in-house fresh tortillas. Prices are good, parking is no problem, and location is very convenient: the restaurant in the commercial plaza on the northeast corner of Bethany Home Road (which it faces) and Frontage Rd. / I-17.

The entire family is AMPED that this is walking distance from the house. I went in for my standard of a bean and cheese burrito and a sample of each sauce and I'm so happy that nothing has changed. If you're around and considering the new Chipotle, let me save you the traffic and food frustration and suggest you find your way here for something authentic that's created and served with love. Easy traffic in and out, so you can grab lunch / dinner and get back on the freeway or home with no real issues. Another bonus is that if you're eating with a wierdo, there's a few other options in the area for them, but you can eat here and be happy. so be happy.

I hate leaving bad reviews but this place does not have any flavor AT ALL. So disappointed w the food, pls THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD! Ordered 'chilaquiles' w two eggs on the side. The green sauce was watery & didn't taste like NOTHING. The cheese wasn't even shredded & was not melted on top. The eggs had absolutely no flavor & were hard. My boyfriend left this place w a stomach ache. Will for sure never be back & do not recommend. Save your money.
