Zhangfei Hot Pot is located in the Pacific Commons Shopping Center. Parking is a bit difficult on weeknights and weekends - may have to park far and walk over. Not much people dining on a weekend, but service was still pretty slow. Ordering is all through scanning the code to order from your phone. Maybe it is more worth it to do their AYCE during lunchtime because dinnertime was not worth the price - not many food choices. My mom and I did the Two Flavored Soup Base - some type pork based soup and the tomato one. The pork one was decent, but the tomato was not worth it - a bit too on the acidic side and messy. Some of the seafood options did not taste as fresh, but we enjoyed the beef and meat.

Found a Hot Pot spot at Fremont. It's perfect food for winter season. They charge $35 for a Hot Pot Buffet per adult for 1.5 hours. You scan their QR code on the table and order the items through your phone. You get to choose soup broth, meat, additional protein, side. And veggies. There are also an area for sauces and extra items. Tried the Pork Based Broth and the Mushroom Broth. The pork broth is tasty, but not as rich as I hope it would be. The mushroom is also tasty. For the meats, was able to try 2 Beef and 1 pork. They are all good portions. They also have lamb alternative, but was not able to try. For additional protein, got the mussels, lobster balls, and cuttlefish balls. Also added mushrooms and tofu bean curds. Their menu is pretty decent and carries all the essentials for a decent hot pot. The place has authentic vibes. It's not intimidating. It's not that big, but they can seat a good number of people. The cooking controls are easy to use. The food items also come out fast. This is a good hot pot place of you want something more affordable compared to other bigger chains.

Their AYCE option is very mid compared to most places. The broth is way too spicy and oily for the mild option. The meat quality felt very cheap. They don't have a whole of options for vegetables and beef. I remember really liking their beef belly from ages ago, but came to find out it's not apart of their AYCE menu and wasn't even available the day I came. They have very limited protein options and have an extra menu where you could pay for additional plates of more higher quality meat but was sold out of everything the Friday my boyfriend and I came for dinner. I've never seen a restaurant charge extra for quail eggs either. On the bright side, the service is extremely fast and I do like how you can order everything on your phone. The workers work quick to his table as soon as parties are done so you'll be seated quite quickly. The sauce bar also has plenty of options and is well kept. Overall, I'd probably passed until they decide to add their beef belly to the AYCE menu as the other meat are average and taste quite tough.

We stopped by on a random Tuesday night. There were only 2 tables when we arrived, so it was pretty quiet. They have AYCE for $34.99 a person for dinner. We ordered their tomato and chicken broth, that were both tasty! The toppings were honestly quite limited for the price that you pay, some of the items that they have are for extra charges, which is a bummer. We only saw one server, but the service was pretty quick.

Saw a video about this place and decided to try it out. Love they are doing AYCE every day now.GF and I came here on a Thursday for lunch. We were like the 4th table so no wait. The ordering is easy via QR code and the waitress gave us a bottle of water which is always great. Though I wish it was cold and had ice, but it's ok.There are two self-serve stations. The sauce bar and a snack/meat area. The sauce bar has all of the essentials of a Chinese hot pot. The area is a bit snug so if it's busy, be ready to wait. I think they should move it but the restaurant isn't huge either. The other bar had fruit, beef belly (that was interesting), and napa cabbage. I don't know why they give out beef belly and napa cabbage like that but I am not complaining.Once our broth came, it didn't take long for the pot to boil. We got pork bone and sukiyaki. The broth was great, the sukiyaki was a tad too sweet but still great. I just added a bit of soy to it and it was fine. For food, we ordered...3x plates of beef1x plate of lambTong ohTofu skin2x you tiaoFresh tofuFishEverything was great. The meat was generous, especially the lamb, and the meat seemed pretty fresh. The other dishes were great. Veggies and fish seemed pretty fresh too. Not fishy at all.Overall, I think my GF and I found our new go-to hotpot place. We want to come back for dinner to see the expanded menu

I'm typically not too big on super authentic Chinese hotpot but Zhangfei Hot Pot really changed that. What really stood out about this particular restaurant is it's extremely friendly staff. With the lunch's full house rush and only 2 younger gentleman running the entire show, it was clear how much they were hustling. Our party's requests were met with smiles and the vibes were so very chill. Seriously, this was some of the BEST customer service I've experienced at an Asian restaurant- which says a whole lot bc staff for the most part gives 2 shizzzzz about customer service. Lunch involved Zhangfei's AYCE. For $25/person, that was an absolute steal. Ordering occurs via QR code and the meal is cut off at a limit of 1.5 hours. There are a long list of items available but pay close attention to things that contain a charge next to it- these items are not included into the AYCE meal and will result in additional charges. Food:While there is a self serve condiments station for you to create your own dipping sauces and a station filled with snacks, sweets, and a few veggies, everything else is ordered via phone. As some Yelpers mentioned, getting your items can take quite a bit of time and you may not even receive parts of your order [which happened to us]. We let a few items slide but the staff is very helpful if you bring the missing items to their attention. We opted for the half/half broth combo and decided on Japanese Sukiyaki & Japanese Pork Bone. Sukiyaki was super sweet [too sweet for my tastebuds] but the pork bone balanced things out by mixing the two. The cuts of meat are decent quality and the servings are plentiful. 4 stars overall because the meal is really good but the time you are left waiting on items can seem unnecessary. +1 because the staff is so diligent and kind. This goes without mentioning but I am most definitely a fan.

I usually come here for the AYCE deal they have on weekdays. The food quality is good, and there's a large variety of things you can order. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a good AYCE hot pot place.
