Full disclosure...Zarri's is special to me. I had my first sandwich there, shoot...almost 4 decades ago? I was a little dude. I fondly remember Mr. Zarri's bright smile, and always cheerful demeanor with customers.Although sentimentality can sway a person's opinion, I really do think this deli is worth commending. The sandwiches are simple. Good bread. Fresh deli meats and cheeses. Toppings to order. A true deli equation that is old school, and I happen to love it.There is no "specialty gourmet" angle that will cost you $25 for a sammich...get over it. Although I did have their porchetta sandwich with provolone today, it was really good. I used to get roast beef and Swiss as a youngster.I was helped by a woman with a very nice smile, and an appreciation for my appreciation. There was a cordial younger dude who was friendly and rang me up. But the real sunshine that brightened my day? Seeing Miss Zarri there. As soon as I saw her bright eyes and her always perfectly done hair, all the nostalgia was solidified, and justified. We spoke for a moment and exchanged some positive energy, and it made my already delicious sandwich that much more enjoyable. Stop by sometime, and take a moment to check out the fun stuff they offer.Thank you, folks...you are appreciated.

Driving up Solano Ave and saw Zarri's. Stopped, looked up on Yelp and decided to get a sandwich. Fun Deli, lots of Italian food items for sale. I chose a Caprace sandwich on Chibatta and add prosciutto. Flavors were excellent. Acme bread was good. Service was fast and friendly. For today's inflationary work prices were okay. I'd come back if ever in the area again.

I have absolutely no idea how this place stays in business. The sandwiches are below average from anywhere and anything you could make at home with a loaf of bread and cold cuts. I have suggested many times that they consider duplicating a famous Italian sandwich in New Orleans called "The Muffaletta'. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MuffulettaHowever, considering the way they run the business now, they would not have, nor would they keep the quality control needed to make such a sandwich successful.

I came to this deli looking for a good sandwich to eat. The place is small, cozy and has a selection of other food products like chips, novelties and the like. I had my eye on the reuben, I was craving something a little on the sour side. The person behind the counter offered me a few other add ons on top of the sandwich I ordered which was nice. I got it toasted with a bag of chips. The sandwich tasted good, but I wanted it with more sauerkraut and sauce. But, overall I had a good lunch. I plan to come back here if I'm craving another deli sandwich.

I hate to give a local place a subpar review, but if there is any tuna on the sandwich I just got I certainly can't find it.The liverwurst sandwich I got for my mom also made her unhappy. And my friend's poor boy was, indeed, that.We weren't going to go back, but since we got a nice response from the deli, we will give it another try very soon and then update the review.Maybe the person making the sandwiches was having an off day.

2.5 stars Ordered via Doordash. This review is for the Poor Boy Deluxe. Very subpar for an italian sandwich from a sandwich place. You get maybe 1 or 2 slices of each meat listed in the description with 1 slice of swiss cheese and 2 slices of cheddar wedged between two different slices of meat. The sliced "sour" bread tastes closer to buttermilk than sourdough. The overall effect reminds me of a mom's packed sandwich for school with ham and cheese.

The reuben meat wasn't hot and the sauerkraut didn't taste of high quality. People were friendly but store is older. They have 1 2-person table inside and no other seating. I would consider it below average.

I attended an event they catered. I had to ask who provided the food it was soooo delicious! From the hors d'oeuvres to the main course the food was incredible! I highly recommend and will be sure to go Zarri's when I'm in the Albany area.

The best deli in town. John the owner is always there making sure everything is going well. This a family owned business and they make you feel like family. My favorite sandwiches, the roast beef sandwich with extra meat and everything on it on a sweet roll with Swiss cheese. My son orders of Ruben or poor boy deluxe.. lately he's been boarding the tri-tip sandwich is also delicious. They make their potato salad from scratch, which is awesome. My daughter has salami and Swiss sandwich on sliced sourdough. They are always busy so better get in there when you can.
