Ever since our favorite Chinese restaurant shut down, we've trying out local alternatives to find a new, regular replacement. Despite constantly driving past Yunnan Style Rice Noodle every time we drive down San Pablo, we never tried this place out until recently. We ordered to-go through Grubhub, and the order was ready and waiting for us timely when I arrived. Although I didn't dine in, the inside was very spacious with a lot of available tables to sit at. Ordered a Sliced Beef Fried Flat Noodle in Premier Soy Sauce and a Braised Eggplant with Grounded Pork. Both dishes came with a generous portion size, and were reasonably priced. The Braised Eggplant had a pleasantly surprising large amount of pork, rather than mostly eggplant as I would have guessed would be the case. The flat noodles, while good, weren't clumped together and could have been better prepared so they did not stick together in large globs. There is limited street parking directly in front of the restaurant, but plenty of street parking if you turn into the residential areas.

This place has changed hands - again. The wontons in chili oil had an odd unpleasant taste in the filling, the twice cooked pork was flavorless, the sesame chicken had an orange gloppy sauce coating it. All in all we barely ate what we ordered and tossed the rest, Chinese food always gets a second life in our house , not this time.3 or 4 owners ago this was our go to place, not any more, we'll see what the next incarnation brings.

stopped by here for a comfort meal after coming from tahoe on the way back into SF. i read reviews about this spot being a hidden gem, so ofc i had to check it out! however, i feel that the food falls a bit flat to my expectations, as i pride in the south bay having superior chinese cuisine. the service was really lovely though, and the location is definitely considered hole in the wall.comments about the dishes ordered:- rice noodle in spicy soup w/beef: i liked the noodles, but the broth was too salty and oily.- chinese beef burrito: generous ratio of beef to scallion roll, great flavor. definitely the star of the spread- eggplant with galic sauce: yes spelled galic lolol was tasty but feels americanized bc it was a tad too sweet.- pig ear in chili oil: pretty authentic. spice has a kick to it and the ears are crunchy, as cartilage should be.

No pictures this time. The Asian beef burrito was OK. The dumplings were OK. The pork bone, which I usually order was totally disgusting. I've never had it so bad. The pork seemed old and burnt. It's like they dumped the bottom of the pan scapes in it.I'm not sure if they deserve my business anymore.

Alas, the last time we ordered here, the sesame chicken was not what it once was. Suspiciously neon red mushy sauce of indeterminate flavor -- would not recommend! Green beans tasted of rancid oil. Bummed out, loved this place before.

This is my go to schezwan restaurant. I've been back multiple times and have some dishes on rotation. All of my orders have been togo or delivery so no comment on the restaurant dining.Favorites are fried tofu, orange peel tofu, and the fried rice. Everything is cooked fresh and always hot.

Hidden gem in El Cerrito :)! It's on a less busy area of El Cerrito which makes parking doable and getting in for a small to medium party easy. Such a good portion size for the price too! Usually the noodle soups are good for about 2 servings. The food was flavorful and came out fast. Great place for a quick sit down meal with loved ones!

Delicious hole in the wall serving piping hot bowls of Yunnan rice noodles and at reasonable prices. Ordered the pickled vegetable fish broth noodle and the tomato beef brisket noodles and both were very savory and satisfying. The sour vegetable fish broth is slightly numbing and just slightly sour which made it very appetizing to eat and there was also a good amount of fish fillets. The tomato beef brisket was another delicious broth full of tomato flavor and chunks of beef. The beef is a little tough but not bad. The rice noodles themselves are slippery and nicely chewy. Love the noodles! They have other Sichuan/Yunan entree dishes here too and they are all done well. I love their mapo tofu since it is one of the more authentic ones I've had, great taste of doubanjiang and numbing fragrance. Tried a few of their other stir fried dishes too and they are all great!

Poor experience overall. The Rice Noodle dishes taste decent but are overly greasy. Also, the preparation of the Rice Noodle dishes isn't consistent too--sometimes they put A LOT of Sichuan pepper oil (numbing spice). So your mouth and throat end up coated with oil and feel numb upon eating them. Surprisingly, the non-rice noodle dishes that we have gotten were actually bland. Also, the restaurant's heating doesn't work and as such it feels like a fridge. Will not come back

For how many stars this place has I did not expect such an awful experience.Cons:-Harsh Florescent lighting-no music to drown out loud noise -manager screaming at the cooks-random people coming in to sell stuff -nobody checks on you or the food since you order through the phone-a cook came out and took a plate of ours randomly and didn't return with another one- food is overcooked -our green beans never came out of the kitchen 50 minutes later, and we were not compensated- it took 30 minutes for them to serve us freezer burnt and literally burnt scallion pancakes- front of house speaks no english wasn't able to understand most requests or complaints and LAUGHED IN MY FACE WHEN I POLITELY COMPLAINED- fried rice wasn't fried and it had a lot of hard overcooked rice bits -tea is from a store bought tea bag not leaves-portions are small and every plate is $20 - workers serving us are on their phones and have air pods in ignoring patronsPros:- the Mongolian beef was tasty- even though it is cheap poster I enjoyed looking at the traditional wall art
