So many options of veggies, meats, noodles, etc. For my bowl, I got a good mix of cabbage, spinach, fish balls, ramen noodles, and beef slices. For my broth, I chose the beef bone with mild spice. While your bowl is being prepared, there's a sauce bar to make your own dipping sauce. My food was ready within 5 minutes and once I took my first bite, I was in love! The price would depend on which broth you choose and the weight of your ingredients. My total came out to about $23. The restaurant was clean and service was speedy. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Personally I am not a big fan of Malaytang but I came back to this place 3X for the last 2 weeks.Ingredients were fresh and staff filling them full constantly. Soup base choices were great, chicken for the non spicy youngster and beef for the adults with mild mid or super spicy. Food came out super fast and hot. All items were cooked well, not overcooked, not raw. Little shop, but they didn't rush us out, there are seatings also outside seatings. I rather eat this than some overrated Ramen or over stuffed ourselves with AYCE hotpot. Everyone is satisfied when we walked out. Cold rainy winter must try.

Food - 3.5 I had the mushroom broth while my family chose the beef broth. The mushroom broth was just ok and a little too thick (oily) and murky. The beef broth was quite good and tasty if you order mild spicy and like peppercorns taste. I felt the medium spicy level tend to cover up its taste with the stronger heat. I was told that Malatown has better beef broth (lighter clearer base and less peppercorns.. ). So may check that place out next time. Ambiance- 3 this place is tight, small with little wiggle rooms between tables. So it's not as comfortable if you have more than 4people in your group. Service - 5 since you move through a line of fresh ingredients to choose to add to your bowl and then you select the broth of choice (beef broth, tomato, mushroom broth) and pay. The food was ready in 5-10mins.

Met up with friends on a Wednesday and it actually got packed around 6:30 after working hours! It was easy to choose what meats, veggies, and noodles you wanted but I didn't realize there was a weight minimum so I had to go back in the line when I tried to check out. I got the mushroom soup base which was a little too salty for my liking, but still packed with flavor. I've been to other malatang places with more variety so giving this one 4 stars.

Pricey but well worth the selection. I love getting the oyster mushrooms here as they are so good and absorb the beef flavor well. I just wish the beef broth had a non spicy option as mild + the hotness of the pot can be overwhelming. Service is decent but ambiance is not great. Very loud and crammed seating. As a promo gong on they are offering $2 coupons per pound of hotpot which is nice.

Definitely worth the hype!YGF is cafeteria style and you're able to choose how much meat, noodles, and veggies you want! It can be pretty inexpensive if you don't eat too much. It's hard not to try to grab everything when your eye is telling you to!This has been one of my favorite malatang spots in San Jose! I got there around 6 and it was not crowded, but around 6:30-7pm it got insanely crowded. So make sure you join the waitlist early if you plan on eating during their busy times. There are four different broth levels and I got mild spicy. It definitely has a kick but is tolerable. The restaurant is small so you may be close to other parties but isn't anything unbearable.

This place was so yummy!! I was in the mood for some noodles without something as heavy as soup with it, and this honestly hit the spot!! I got the Dry Mix and it was soo good. They had such a wide variety of ingredients to choose from + a sauce making station! This is also super good for meals where you don't want to interact with anyone!!

The wait for this spot can be long. We waited for 15 minutes for our party of 3. There is a waitlist tablet at the front. This method of seating customers is efficient. I got a text our table was ready and see the host. The host provides your table number. They offer a variety of vegetable and noodles. Their protein options are minimal but offer more seafood. There are raw octopus, boiled crawfish, squid among other seafood. There was only two meat options. The mild beef bone broth is delicious and flavorful. I like their servings bowl, reminds me of ramen bowls. The sauce options are limited but they carry the basics, garlic, sesame oil, cilantro and green onions. The restaurant has a quaint interior seating and offer several outdoor tables. There are two heaters outside but I wouldn't want to eat outside with all the foot traffic.

Words cannot describe my love for this place. The broth is sooo good compared to other similar chains nearby and has all the ingredients i need to make the perfect bowl for myself. The store is small but wait time is pretty quick.

I do like their broth and the food are fresh. I wish they can have more variety of food. I thinkZhang Liang in MV is more organized. The only thing I was not happy about is the sauce and topping bar. We were there around 7:45pm and almost all the sauce and topping are gone. I understand they might not want to refill them and waste, but they don't even refill the soy sauce. I even asked the staff can they just refill the soy sauce and the staff said no more. Soy sauce is not like the garlic and onion, I don't understand why they can't just refill the soy sauce. It is not that bad and hard to just refill small amount of soy sauce for the customers. The restaurant close at 9pm.
