Went to Yammy Sushi last night. I ordered their unagi bowl with lettuce instead of rice. It came with a wonderful bowl of miso. The miso soup was delicious and warmed me up. It had a great depth of flavor... it was just delightful!! The unagi bowl came with 8 pieces of unagi and a yummy sauce over fresh crisp lettuce! It also had a dab of wasabi and some pickled ginger. My DH had a spicy tuna roll. I snuck a piece. It was fresh and delicious. BTW... their wasabi is the really deal. I almost couldn't handle it... Service was good the food came out quickly and was great! The restaurant is super clean. The service was pretty good tho we had to ask for our water to be refilled. We really enjoyed the visit!! We'll be back when we're in town.

This is a super small sushi spot on the corner in the El Cerrito Plaza by the Trader Joe's but it does it not skimp on quality and customer service! I discovered them in the pandemic and glad to see they are still here. They don't have the largest menu but they have all your go-to's and for those that like to classify their sushi by "raw" or "cooked", they've got you covered on the menu. The place is always clean from what I've seen, and they are also quick! The wakame salad was fresh, and the sushi was so good I forgot to take pictures of any of it!

This is average or a tiny bit below. Ordered a bunch of items and the vinegar in the sushi rice was too strong. You can smell the vinegar and all the rolls tastes sour. The roll size are big and will fill you up quick. I have had many lion kings rolls and this time was not good at all. Vinegar was too strong

Yammy Sushi is Yummmmmmy sushiWe had to get 2 orders of the Veggie Kimbap.The veggies, tofu, and rice all come together in an incredibly tasty way.The key to the "yummyness" stems mainly from the specific family recipe they use in preparing all the ingredients. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.Our household has always been bullish on Yammy Sushi for lunch but now it's on our go-to dinner rotation too!

This was an impulse stop. They're located by Trader Joe's, and while I was headed to grocery shop, I knew I didn't want to cook dinner that night. I ordered a selection of rolls that were likely to hit our palates - we enjoy some spice. We were really pleased with each roll. The fish was clearly fresh - smooth and buttery in texture. The rice was also bright and of proper texture. The seaweed was good quality and sufficiently dry so it wasn't chewy. I was given a sample of a new roll they're testing, it had egg and sweet potato, and when I asked if it should be dipped in soy sauce, she said no, to eat it in its own. It was really flavorful, and something I'd order next time. It can sometimes be hit or miss with shopping plaza restaurants, and I was so glad this one was a hit!

Checked out this spot for their soft opening today and ribbon cutting and it truly is a hidden gem! It's run by a family so the experience is very welcoming and intimate, so perfect for all kinds of occasions!The food is easily a 10/10. The rolls are super fresh and the perfect serving size so you're not too full! The Bay Area roll was definitely the show stopper. It had the perfect spice level so it's a definite must try for anyone who visits.The decorations are also super nice! I can see people easily taking great pictures here if they celebrate something with their dinner because of how cute the interior is. Overall, you definitely gotta try Yammy!!

Hours posted are 11:30-9pm. I drove across town to have lunch here today. I arrive shortly after two today and was told I could not be seated because they were going to take a break. Either you're open 1130 to 9 or you're not. Person at the door was rude and not the least bit apologetic for not wanting to see me for lunch. I won't waste my time again.
