Coffee spots are sure different nowadays, at least compared to my ancient Cal undergrad days. They used to be converted storage closets, and the usually burnt coffee was served in styrofoam cups with folded handles. There would be canisters of CoffeeMate and certainly no sugar-free sweeteners. However, much like their space on Oxford, this spot was truly a cafe.It featured a complete breakfast and lunch menu as well as the expected slate of coffees and coffee alternatives. The key difference was that it appeared set up like a study hall. Shhh... It was very quiet with earbuds epoxied on young students intently staring at their laptop screens. I silently sipped my $4 Cafe au Lait - although I may have squealed when I bun my tun (photo: https://bit.ly/3ZNzlsZ).COFFEE - 3 stars...coffee was sitting too long on the burner to enjoy my au lait AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...quiet pleaseSERVICE - 3.5 stars...not much interaction TOTAL - 3 stars...a caffeine-fueled study hall for the coeds...presumably sponsored by QualcommRELATED - Exploring Berkeley? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2CbVh8u

Sweetest workers ever. I just ordered a simple double shot of expresso over ice and this kind middle aged worker frothed up some milk for my drink after seeing that it looked like I was having the expresso plain. Granted I am lactose intolerant, so I packed my own creamer from home. I appreciated the kind gesture and it truly made my afternoon!

I love the Caprese Panini from here! The size was of a sandwich is in picture, just enough to fill you up for a quick bite. Honestly for the price though, if you are hungry you might grab something more filling (might just have been my appetite at the time though so don't let my bias prevent you from trying this yummy sandwich especially if you don't want to go off campus.)Update: I actually came back. Despite my comment of it being a quick bite, I think it was because there was no meat in the caprese sandwich. After trying the Turkey Melt my eyes lit up at the amazing flavor and noticed how it actually filled me up. Good portion and wrapped nicely to eat to goIf you are looking for matcha maybe not this cafe, they offer the Green Tea Latte but it is not the strong matcha flavor I prefer (extra charge for milk substitute btw!)

Great menu selection with coffees, smoothies, sandwiches, salads, and pastries. But goodness, it took me 33 minutes to get a panini during lunch. I understand they are understaffed and it's the lunch rush but it didn't make sense seeing the lady prioritize cold sandwiches first. The people way ahead of me we're also waiting and longer because she made the panini in batches. Service is nice and workers are friendly. Coffee is decent but $6 is kinda alarming. Plenty of seating even during rushes. Would I recommend, no not at all but this is one of the few places to get coffee on campus so by default I'll return. $20.85 for a panini and iced coffee says it all. All their meats are heated up in the microwave. Not sure why it's priced so high in that case.

Cute cafe with great study vibes and decent food.I tried the Tuna Melt Panini for the first time. I really enjoyed it. The tuna wasn't overly salty, the bread was crispy and warm, and the tomato and avocado were fresh as well. I'd say price was pretty normal, maybe a little pricier. Petition for sandwiches to be less than $10. I'm just a broke college student. I see myself coming back here frequently to study. I can't wait to try more items on the menu.

I'm a big fan of this Yali's. The location is huge, great menu selection (admittedly a bit pricey), kind employees, A1 pumpkin bread. It's a bit loud, so I don't recommend it if you have some serious work to get done / no noise-cancelling headphones. Loads of seating indoors and outdoors. Pumpkin bread has bits of chocolate in it as well, soo good. Other favorites include the regular drip coffee, orange juice, and tea bread. Definitely recommend!

Today is Opening Day for the new Yali's in the space that was formerly known as the Qualcomm Cyber Cafe. You'll find it on Instagram as @yaliscoffee/ . I was Customer Number Two.Because I was on my way to a workout, I ordered no food. However, I do want to point out that this new Yali's carries Firebrand pastries as well as pastries from Semifreddi's. The coffee is from Equator.I had a small cappuccino "for here" (i.e., in a ceramic cup). It was perfectly made. As you can see from the photos on Instagram (and I'll add two for this review), the space has been remodeled beautifully. The personnel today included members of the Yali's A-team. If the quality can be maintained as the months wear on, this may become my favorite campus cafe. Go Yali's!

I come here so often.Every time, I think to myself, gosh -- I should go somewhere else. The lattes are hit or miss, the service is mostly miss, and the prices are high. Alas I am a creature of habit and the vibes are good. If you order an egg bagel, they microwave the bagel. Microwaving bread (that isn't even frozen) is so wrong, I have to give 2 stars. Otherwise, it would be a 3.

I arrived on the first day of class to take my online lecture on campus and Yali's was an ideal study spot in the morning. The cafe was largely empty at 10am and the service was fast. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and veggies (spinach, onion, tomato, maybe one more?) and it was great. The cream cheese and fresh veggies were an unexpectedly delicious combo and I plan to come back for the rest of the menu. The cafe started getting full around 11am and in the afternoon it was packed with absolutely no seating given one group per table and some attempt at social distancing. I highly recommend checking out Yali's in the morning, ideally before 11am, because of how crowded it gets in the afternoon. However, if it's this crowded, they must be doing something right!

A fairly normal Yali's, but with a few perks:* Lots of modern seating. There's usually a free space somewhere, and the vibe is very chic.* Fresh squeezed orange juice. I mean, I haven't tried it, but I really like watching the orange squeezing machine.* Avocado toast. The seasoning is not great, but it is rather large for an avocado toast and is topped with a large amount of fresh avocado. There's probably more, but that's what stuck out to me. Otherwise, there's all the standard Yali's stuff like fake frappuccinos, super sweet smoothies, and quirky quiches (they aren't actually quirky I just was trying to continue the pattern).Good place to get coffee on campus.
