BEST DAMN BURRITO I've ever had. Huge portions for reasonable prices, clean café, very friendly staff. My wallet is going to take a hit with this place being so close to my office. I went back after my first experience (and thinking about the food for a good 12 hours)- and randomly got to talk with the owner. He told me everything is make in house- which comes at no surprise b/c it all tastes super fresh. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

Updating this review as the last few times I've been here the food has been underwhelming and the portions are much smaller than it used to be. For the pricing, it's just not worth it for me to come here for lunch as frequently as i used to. However, my recent negative experience is one of the main reasons I am updating my rating to one star. I came here with a coworker a couple of months ago for lunch and we both ordered the philly cheesesteak sandwiches and there was a small amount of meat for a $15 sandwich which we weren't too surprised about since the quality and quantity of food has been declining the last few years. Unfortunately, our cashier at the time, Rima, was very rude while we were ordering as well. My coworker couldn't hear her questions as she was speaking in a low voice and when she asked Rima to repeat the questions, Rima answered each time very rudely. It was very off-putting and my coworker and I both decided that we weren't coming back at all. It's one thing for the declining food portions and pricey menu but to be met with poor customer service as well, just made the decision easier for us not to return. This place used to be packed 5 years ago and is not as crowded in the last few years and I can see why. There are other options such as Cafe Jolie, Oscar's Grill, and Freckles Cafe nearby which I'll gladly choose over Why Cook.

I work in the same plaza as Why Cook and I can't say it enough, I love their food! The customer service is always on point. The location is convenient and there is always open seating in a clean dining area.

The new renovations are great! The ambiance is great. I always come here for the self serve salad which is reasonably priced! Have gotten smoothies as well which are decent. Not amazing but not bad.

How do you mix up ham with grilled chicken breast? My order got messed up , which is ok BUT the manager who was so damn condescending. She asked me to send her a pic by email, ok done BUT then says "its hard to tell" like why would I make up getting the wrong damn meat but it's cool. I just won't be going back.3 stars are for the previous times I went.

Why Cook catered my birthday party for 50 people on a Sunday afternoon. The food was so much better than a typical restaurant! They provided great variety for a table spread that I didn't expect. No quickie dishes. These were like home cooking Mediteranian style. I won't hesitate to use them again. We also go down to the Alameda location for lunches. The outdoor setting is very pleasant and relaxing. Good work, Why Cook!

Slow service. Expensive for what you get. And they serve generic or Hunt's ketchup. Might go to them more often if they carried Heinz ketchup. Only thing is the nice seating area inside and out but for some reason every time I've gone someone is listening to videos or music without headphones.

The owner was RUDE and ARROGANT. He shouldn't run a business if he does not know how to manage his anger, I had a miss understanding with an order I had and the way he handled the situation was terrible. He was yelling at his employees in front of customers, and not to say the way he yelled at me, I had to tell him to not yell at me and to relax. I also mentioned he shouldn't be yelling so rudely to his employees and what his response "ITS MY COMAPANY I DO WHAT I WANT" no employees should be treated terrible.

Why cook is located within in an office environment. I actually work within the offices located at this place. I'm always looking to have a nice matcha or cup of coffee during my breaks, so I frequent the place. I must say I was very impressed. I believe the person who made my iced matcha was new, since I hadn't seen her before. So, good job to her ! Overall, the matcha was very delicious and lived up the expectations I had. It's sometimes difficult to find a good tasting matcha sometimes. I will be returning much more often, it's a hidden gem and a must try !

The location of the facility is nice considering your surrounded by office space and the food is edible. I highly recommend the salad bar, however they are not very friendly. A server (gentleman with a bald head) asked if he could help me. I was minding my business charging my phone. He asked again, if he could help me because apparently i wasn't buying anything in the establishment to "support" the business. I said calmly, " i'll leave" not wanting to argue. I work in the area and purchases items plenty of times. Impression is everything, i will never "support" this business again.
