Beautiful atmosphere with even better wine! Tasting: 5/5 I've been wine tasting here twice and I've loved each time. I strongly recommend getting the charcuterie board to pair with the tasting. Service: 5/5 The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. You will get seated quickly if you have a reservation. Ambiance: 5/5 Great place for photos! My friends and I felt very relaxed enjoying eachothers' company.

We loved our experience here at Wente Vineyards Tasting Room. We opted for the indoor tasting room which was beautiful staged with Holiday Decor. Our wine specialist Nancy was very informative and patient. We ended up purchasing a bottle of Cab Franc to enjoy with our dinner at home. Overall the tasting was a pleasant experience and I would very much enjoy returning for another tasting.

The most striking thing about this place is it's setting. It's gorgeous and an excellent way to spend a few hours. Their outdoor patio has lots of seating and offers a great view of everything, although there's abundant indoor seating as well. The servers love their job and their passion is infectious. They are great at offering suggestions for those of us (myself included) who really don't know what they want. The glasses are a little on the pricey side but are very good. Maybe something like half the menu you can only get here, so it's worth the extra price for connoisseurs!

Went to both the grill at the golf course and the wine tasting room and leaving two separate reviews on each of them (5 for the tasting room and 2 for the grill....) I would definitely recommend going to the tasting room and unfortunately wouldn't recommend the grill. Service at the grill was actually pretty good, but the food was not. Both burgers were extremely dry. The golf course view and wine were the highlights and I'd honestly tell you to eat first and just head to the tasting room instead. We went over to the tasting room after and had an awesome time! Our host was fantastic; informative about the history of Wente, the different wines, and recommendations based off what we like. We went with "The nth degree" and wow. It was a little spendy, but worth the price. So much so that I bought a couple bottles to take home. To sum it up I'd go back & try the golf course and visit the tasting room, but not the grill unless they make some improvements.

My friend and I made a brief stop before my flight back home . I'm so glad we stopped by Wente Vineyard. The vineyard is very large and beautiful. There is a golf course located on the opposite side of the vineyard and a golf shop for golf equipment and other golf related items . Wine tasting is available as well as a restaurant for dining . Due to my personal time constraints. I ordered a glass a wine and enjoyed sitting out for an hour overlooking the vineyard and golf course. Would I recommend and return definitely!

I'll start with the one unsavory experience before getting to the highlights. Before leaving the vineyard, me and one other person in my party purchased wine bottles to take home. The man who brought over the bottles entered my friend's credit card information manually into the iPad to check out. The receipt was sent to her email, which is where she saw the man tipped himself 36%. If you scroll down to another person's review, they also mentioned another staff member tipping themselves. As for our earlier experience, we had the Cave Tour & Barrel Tasting experience which was $75 per person. You take the tour with other parties unless you choose the private tour option. We first had a white wine while in the waiting room before starting the tour. Portions of this tour is held outdoors, so be sure to bring a hat or sunglasses. Inside the cave we tried a handful of red wines and the tour ended at the starting location where we tried 2 more red wines. If you take the tour, you get the option to purchase wines at a discounted price (this may or may not also be true for when you do the other wine tasting options). The grounds are scenic and there are lots of places to sit and they mentioned there was a walkable restaurant, though no food is served directly at the vineyard.

One in our group wasn't drinking at this spot, so we only did 5 tastings and one had a glass of wine instead. By this time, some were hungry, so we ordered some food as well. Not sure why we got a discount on the tastings. Maybe since we bought some wine? But I won't argue with a percentage off anything.I got the cellar flight. I'm into reds so was happy this was all reds since I'm not that big on whites. I can't recall the white they initially put in the glass, but the red pours were generous as they each come in a baby carafe.Service was fine. It feels a little chaotic here since it was so busy, but we didn't have any issues getting more water, our food, wine, etc. Maybe I'm just too old now, but I preferred the vibe of the last winery we were at more. Chill and quiet. Or maybe I just need something in between. Since we sat inside, the noise and everything was amplified.Glad I finally checked off one of the more busy / popular wineries in Livermore.REVIEW #3451

My goal is to try all the wineries in the Livermore area and Wente Vineyards was next on my list. Came on a Saturday afternoon for a tasting and we did not make reservations. It's recommended on the website but the winery is pretty big so there's plenty of seatings in the lounge. Jack was our sommelier and he was so knowledgeable and friendly! The tasting was $30 per person for 5 wines and my favorite was the Brut sparkling wine. Im not a huge wine drinker so quite honestly, I don't know what's good and what's not. Most importantly for me, it has to taste good and easy to go down. We tried a variety of white and red wines. Overall, the experience was great and we really enjoyed the ambiance. At the end, I decided to get myself a bottle of the Brut ($50) to enjoy at home. Note: they also have a huge golf course here and occasionally would host music concerts and events so definitely check them out!

The experience here is nothing short of amazing. From the beautifully manicured grounds that feel straight out of a magazine to the friendly sommeliers who know their stuff--great pours and fascinating history too. We've been to Wente more times than we can count, and every visit has been flawless. In fact, we love it so much that we're making it our wedding venue! We couldn't be more excited!

My friends wanted to go wine tasting, but we needed to eat lunch first. They wanted to go to Wente as our first stop and tried the Grill. We sat outside because the weather was nice. However, there were cobwebs interwoven in the table, and slats of the chairs which left a feeling of unease for spiders crawling on you. My friends ordered the lobster grilled cheese and the chicken salad sandwich. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I am not a fan of shrimp but I'm a picky eater and didn't want anything else on the menu. For the shrimp and grits, the grits or a little too creamy and the sauce did not offer enough flavor, even though they were diced up bits of andouille sausage in it. The shrimp was OK.For the lobster grilled cheese sandwich, my girlfriend said that the lobster didn't taste like anything and the cheese barely had any flavor. She would not order it again. For the chicken salad, my girlfriend said that the seed bread was too hard and cut up the roof of her mouth like it was Dutch crunch, but it wasn't. She will not order this again. The service was very friendly, however, our water was only refilled once after we received the bill and we did not see our waiter to refill our water glasses between the first initial pour to the second pour after the bill was received.
