W XYZ Bar

This lounge at the Aloft hotel in Sunnyvale is both classy and casual, the setup not as nice as the Santa Clara location which is my fave, but still an inviting space with its own perks. We came by on a Wednesday night and enjoyed some delicious cocktails along with amazing service. Not only did the bartenders help guests sitting at the bar, but they walked around checking on everyone in the lounge seating, and showed that they cared about the customer experience. They messed up on the first pair of drinks we ordered, but comped our second set of cocktails which they made ten times better. We really appreciated this. Adding to our lovely evening, the live music created just the right vibe. Mike Annuzzi, who plays here weekly, showcased some incredible talent on the guitar and vocals, performing great tunes including a jazzy rendition of Michael Jackson's Human Nature, Fly Me to the Moon, as well as some Richard Marx, Now and Forever. Sometimes we take good music for granted, but I don't want to forget the simple moments that create smiles. W XYZ in Sunnyvale features not just an awesome musician, but an excellent sound system too, with suitable volume and clarity, to go along with soothing melodies that ease your mind. Everything about my recent visit makes me wanna return to this spot. And you don't need to be staying at the hotel to take advantage of all this place has to offer.

I am torn. Great specials but regular drink menu is just ok. There is no food! So disappointing. It was boiling hot inside with no ventilation. My suggestion is to go Monday through Thursday for happy hour. Friday before dinner it was dead. I added a 3rd star for the awesome bartender who was very friendly and fast!

Absolutely ridiculous that this place is so highly rated here. The fact that I took business guests here based on Yelp and my lack of local knowledge has become a standing joke. It's a hotel bar, and not just that but it's without a doubt the most soulless, corporate little bar I've ever been in. Avoid.

After a celebratory bday dinner for my BIL, we were in need of continuing the party. Being that this bar was located a few miles down from us, we decided to check it out.W XYZ Bar is located in a hotel and although we were in search of something kind of low key, this place was just dead!! Not dead in the way that no one was here but dead in terms of no liveliness.There was 3 other parties already here as we arrived- 2 at the bar and one couple cupcaking in a booth. There was one gentleman handling the bar and we immediately placed our order for some cocktails. Drinks didn't come pretty like they were shown on Yelp, they were pretty basic. No pretty flowers, rimmed glasses, N A D A.Shots started coming into play and the night just got better from there. The bartender [Salvé??] started to warm up and our party of 4 ended up making our own fiesta.2 stars overall but one additional star thanks to the polite bartender. Just wished the drinks came out prettier, especially since the cost wasn't cheap.

I LOVE this bar!I have to travel up to Sunnyvale for work every few weeks. I usually stay at a different hotel, but this time around, I stayed at the Aloft Sunnyvale and I'm so happy I did! W XYZ Bar is attached to the hotel and is a hidden gem. It has a beautiful and cozy layout, and the drinks are affordable and insanely well-made. Eryn is an incredible bartender. She genuinely knows her stuff and is an absolute sweetheart. I highly recommend trying one of her specials. They're out of this world good. I genuinely can't wait to stop by again the next time I'm in the area!

bar tender is EXCELLENT! Sam made my day (and everyone else's too by what I saw in his interactions with everyone!!!)... The ambience, service and EVERYTHING is excellent at W XYZ!! - but for me - Sam made it even more wonderful!!

W XYZ Bar was an unexpected and refined stop nearby downtown Sunnyvale. Located in the renovated Aloft Sunnyvale, it has plentiful seating, a chill bar area, and multiple television screens topped by a mesmerizing ticker tape. The bartender was nice and friendly and gave some solid recommendations. Their drink menu is legit with craft libations and artisanal ingredients that match most bars in the area. Obviously the hotel is a popular stop by work and business travelers but with the solid food scene in downtown Sunnyvale, it's nice to have a cocktail bar you can stop by afterwards for just a night cap. W XYZ Bar accepts credit cards including American Express.

Eryn is a great bartender. She was informative, thoughtful, helpful and engaging to talk to. I was there on business and was working through the night, at one point with my boss at a table. I had a drink or two, a protein bar I had on me and she later arranged for me to have food from a neighboring restaurant. It was so thoughtful of her. Great guest service.

Low energy environment with mediocre drinks. Wasn't bad, but we probably wouldn't go again.

An amazing little local spot!If you haven't been you MUST give this place a try!!I misplaced my wallet and Lauren at the front desk spent a lot of time and energy hunting me down to return it fully intact. I am SO GRATEFUL!!Great drinks, safe and fun atmosphere and friendly people. I 11/10 recommend coming here.
