If they cut their prices in half it would be much easier to shop regularly. The convenience is what keeps us returning on occasion. Have been here once in a while in the last 10 years we have lived in Rockridge.There is a lot of items stuffed onto the shelves of the small space. You can find items in most categories you would find at the bigger grocery stores. Fruit section is in a tent outside. There is also a ice refrigerator outside next to two tables for outdoor eating.Carts and baskets available. There is a deli and fresh seafood counter, along with a small cheese nook. In the very back there is a shelf with sale items.There are compostable bags that you can put your vegetables and quite a few ready-made items like sushi, salads, and dips. The isles can get crowded, especially where people are standing to get to the cashier. Magazines line the shelf on the way out of the place. Bring your own bags!Parking is easy but keep in mind that it is one way, enter on Broadway and exit the other way.

I love anything family owned. My family loves coming here for the garlic Parmesan bread . It's to die for ! I love finding local goods here which never dissapoints and I love getting my New York Times here :)

Village market is exactly what a local grocery store should be. The whole staff is friendly and helpful. They listed to requests and many times after requesting I have been able to pick up a special item that I can't find anywhere else. That's something that makes coming here and avoiding Safeway way worth it. Support small businesses run by friendly people. Vote with your dollar.

So...the aisles are small, the prices are a little high, and the checkout line system makes me crazy, BUT....they have the quirky 15 items I need on my shopping list, they're super friendly, it's easy to park, and they actually follow up by calling or emailing you when you put items in the suggestion box.Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving, got there about 11am and needed some specific types of mushrooms, plus green beans, a dessert, port for a recipe, etc....bam, bam, bam....all items were there and fast and easy to find. Yay! I would have been in and out in in record time, except that I picked the wrong line.... Anyway, you don't want to do all your shopping here, as it really can be pricey, but sometimes it's absolutely worth it for the sheer convenience and quality options they have.

Love this neighborhood market with their beautiful produce and complete selection of groceries. Expensive but good meat and fish, often with items you can't find elsewhere (wild salmon). The people are consistently nice and friendly and happy to help. I only wish they carried some car magazines. But I do love this store.

I like their bbq. I call ahead and order the meat and they have it ready for me in the warmer to pick up. I also like their selections of produce.

First time customer...went in and bought some pork bbq ribs...now I am long term customer.

Was there last night. Creepy check-out guy made a point of picking up each alcoholic beverage I was buying, closely examining the label and then commenting to me on the alcohol content on my purchases. WTF is up w. this?

Love this local market. They have every random thing you need. They answer the phone and put it by the cash register. Today's strange item - spring roll wraps! Love them!!
