Sam and his team were amazing, far exceeded my expectations! From designing the menu to handling things on the day of the wedding, everything was flawless, and the food was delicious! He even sent over a plate of appetizers to us during cocktail hour to make sure we didn't miss any of the food we were paying for.

We had a wonderful experience hiring Trumpetvine to cater our wedding at UC botanical garden. Even though they have a small team, Sam's clarity in communication allowed us to not worry a bit about the process.Come the wedding day, they executed without a glitch from the cocktail hour with passed appetizers, helping serve the cocktail that we (partially) prepared, to bartending, to the buffet dinner (which many of our guests commented on very favorably) and dessert. We even get to enjoy some of the leftovers in the following days (which was both delicious, and also much appreciated when we recover from the wedding weekend ;)I highly recommend Trumpetvine for your catering needs.

As an update, the current owner of Trumpetvine has reached out to insist that I'm reviewing a different company. I am not confused. From the website it looks like ownership has passed from mother to son. It was his mother that we worked with, so maybe things are much better.

I used Trumpetvine Catering for my bridal shower event at the Shoreline Center (they are an approved vendor for the EBMPD) and I highly recommended them! My mom and I met with with Sam at their Berkeley kitchen, who instantly made us feel as if we had known him for several years. I was interested in their Mexican food menu and thought we were going in for a food tasting but were treated to a full course meal (they even packed us leftovers to take home!). The day of the event, they set everything up, made sure all my guests were comfortable and their service was EXCEPTIONAL! The food was DELICIOUS and presented in such an elegant way! Everyone commented on how yummy it was. I cannot say enough great things about Sam and his team.

I got married a couple of weeks ago at UC Botanical Garden and hired Trumpetvine Catering that is one of their approved caterers. I contacted a few caterers from their list and they were the most friendly and responsive to all my emails and questions. Sam and his team are so nice and the food was fantastic. We did a buffet and all guests raved about the menu. The venue and table set up looked gorgeous, exactly the way we dreamt it! The bar was perfectly tended, we brought our own wines and alcohol and their staff took care of all set up, service and break down. We also did dessert through them, the chocolate mousse is to die for!

We just had our wedding at the Piedmont Community Hall in October and it was catered by Trumpetvine. It was all vegetarian (with mussels and shrimp app). People are still raving about the food. It really was excellent. The service was too, bartending, setup, decoration, etc. The owner Deborah was there to help with the day and it went as smooth as possible and we couldn't be happier with how the day went and much thanks to them. The reason why four stars and not five was because of the challenges we had before the event. Communication was usually very difficult, delayed or confusing. And we had several challenges with the invoice all along the way. There was no malice on their part, just disorganization it seems.Either way, I would still highly recommend them to work with as Deborah and Sam are good people to work with and really care about their product and offering a good service (they just need to be bit more organized and slightly more tech savvy - eg, a PayPal/Venmo account).

We had an amazing experience hiring Trumpetvine for our wedding at the Brazilian Room. Sam is definitely very experienced and made us feel at ease before the wedding. He sent us a long list of suggested dishes to get us started on crafting the menu, we chose a bunch we were interested in, and from there he designed a cohesive menu, taking into account dietary restrictions and even some last minute subs. The food turned out incredible - we had a buffet and a lot of guests went back for seconds and thirds! Some guests who have been to over 20 weddings said this was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. His staff was very professional and personable. We would highly recommend using Trumpetvine for your wedding or event!

Our recent wedding celebration for our daughter and son-in-law was a great success in large part due the stellar work by Trumpetvine Catering. The event took place at the Brazil Room in Berkeley, and it was a magical evening under the full Harvest Moon. Sam worked closely with us through two Covid-induced reschedulings without skipping a beat. He and his team provided an excellent, well-orchestrated meal and beverage service in a very professional and friendly manner. The staff is delightful and attentive, yet discreet.All our guests raved about the food and the whole experience. Trumpetvine Catering was wonderful, food and service, at my wife's Celebration of Life after postponing due to Covid. It was held at UC Botanical Garden and had some challenges around scheduling of food given that it began at 1p.m but Sam was wonderful in the planning stage and during the event. We partnered with Sam at Trumpetvine for our two-part wedding celebration (an intimate, post-ceremony family meal, followed by an all-inclusive reception later that evening). Sam went above and beyond from day one with an impressive assortment of dishes and small bites to choose from. On the day of the wedding, every detail was dialed in beautifully and service was spot on. Sam's team is a wonderfully fun, kind, and caring crew.
