The View Bar & Grill

Great spot to stop for lunch on the way out of Napa! The view is amazing; golf and vineyards. The food was very good, better than what you would expect for a golf course bar restaurant. The only negative was on the homemade mozzarella sticks, they came out after the main meal, and they were just ok. That aside, I would definitely go back. Hopefully I can play a round of golf next time.

My family (party of 8) had a lunch at The Vineyard Room at Chardonnay Golf Club. We had birthday/pre-Mother's Day celebrations and put them together one day. We decided to do it on Saturday because Sunday would be too crazy. It was a good choice and my sister made reservations. Chardonnay is a favorite of my mother's.The Vineyard Room is a small dining area adjacent to The View Bar & Grill (another restaurant at the golf course). I'll jump right to it.Things I liked: beautiful area and on sunny days the view is spectacular. There is ample parking. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The food itself is quite good. I had Reuben sandwich with french fries and it was deli-wonderful.Things to know: this place hosts a lot of wedding receptions--and I think weddings--and this can affect what you order. For example, I thought I could order breakfast food slightly after 12:00 pm, but was informed that I could not. I believe the kitchen was switching over to lunch. So, I ordered the fried chicken by was later told that they no longer made that. My guess is that they will eventually update their menu. Our server, Skylar, was apologetic and since my sister was also a No-Go on the fried chicken, offered to check if the kitchen would make breakfast items. Sadly, the answer was still "no" and I told Skylar my second option was the Reuben. My sister had fish tacos. I know that Skylar was only passing along what she was told, so I don't blame her. She also comped me a beer and our table an order of nachos. This was a gracious offer and we accepted it.I'm not an order-off-the-menu guy and I try always to be patient and understanding. I've been in Skylar's shoes before and have had my share of difficult situations. In this situation it is helpful to know that it is a bar & grill and while they have a decent amount of options, it is a little different than a full-service restaurant. Given the fact that it's a destination for wedding parties, it is good to know that your menu options might be limited. Meaning, you might be told that they do not have your first choice. I've always found that being a little understanding goes a long way in your enjoyment of the meal.I tip my cap to Skylar for remaining courteous and friendly even though she kept having to come back and tell us the kitchen couldn't make this or that. This is still a good place to eat. I'd recommend asking what they are out of at the beginning.

1-person show in the dining room. Yet she was pulling the weight of three, performing the tasks of a bar tender, cashier, and server. Lunch hour at the club with a good amount of patrons for one person to operate. While attending to us in a timely manner and to other patrons, she carried a pleasant smile the entire time and exhibited such professionalism in a warm and friendly manner that makes a person really feel welcomed. And believe me when I say genuine. She made us feel we were part of the scene, although we came in a bit shabby for a golf club area with my hair looking as if the storm just left my head. These days, many places lack the skill of demonstrating decent customer service. But not this day...not here. She had my heart smiling. Our food came in a timely manner, beginning with our appetizer of Buffalo chicken wings. Meaty, tender, and juicy. I was definitely pleased with these wings! Just as we were getting to the end of that dish, our entrees came. Tempura fish with fries and a steak sandwich cooked medium rare also with a side of fries. The capsule covering of the fish was crunchy to the bite, met with the moist and sweet flavors of the white fish meat within. The large cut fries are lightly preseasoned with subtle spices to give a nice flavored crunch with eat bite. The steak was perfectly cooked to my request, and tender. The experience of great service and food made me forget the awkward feelings I had when I first walked into this bar & grill. And of course, what many would like to know...the dining area is enclosed with large windows giving each diner a beautiful view of the golf course with an option of outdoor dining equipped with patio heaters during chilly days. This spontaneous lunch outing find away from home was definitely worth the drive. Great service, food well done by the chef, and for a great price, considering that it comes with a view and a nice drive away from the city. Definitely will be coming back!

A little more upscale than cafeteria food with a cafeteria setting. Nice views of the golf course. Ordered the spicy cauliflower bites....and I thought it would be just that....bites, we were served practically a whole head of califlower, nothing spicy about it pretty bland/unimpressed, just too big and chunky. Nothing really wowed me to say "I must eat here again"

For a restaurant located within a golf course, I have to say, this place definitely caught me by surprise- a good surprise ;D! The restaurant is centrally located, overlooking the practice t-hole and private driving range. The view is absolutely gorgeous especially if you find a seat outside on the open patio. We were seated right away...Our server Justin was very helpful in giving food recommendations and throughout our visit he provided the perfect amount of attentiveness while still giving us our private space. Thank you Justin! The food selection is quite large, which in my opinion is great! The variety from the menu is able to attract different likes and dislikes, also meaning there is something for everyone on the menu. My husband ordered the Salmon special, which was probably one the best salmon dishes we've ever tried. The salmon sat atop a bed of perfectly cooked mash potatoes and smothered in a delicious savory sauce. It wasn't too sweet nor was it to tangy, it was tasty. The sautéed veggies were also cooked to perfection. 5 stars on this one, allllll the way! I ordered the Chicken Radiatore. I love saying that, "Rad-deeyuh-tore-AY." If you love pesto, like I loooove pesto, then this is what you need in your life, stat! The noodles were a different shape I've never seen before- but they absorbed the pesto sauce so well, the dish is going to be one of my favorite pasta dishes of all time! With just the right amount of chicken pieces my dish was complete with a few pine nuts on top. After a few dabs of Tabasco, I was in heaven! 5 stars. So between the excellent customer service, and deliciously-satisfying food, it's easy for me to give View Bar and Grill 5 stars. Stop by for food (or a round of golf) on your next Napa visit ;)

My family returned to The View Bar & Grill today to try out their breakfast items. Staff was again very friendly, down to earth, and we loved seeing how they all work together to help each other. It creates a pleasant atmosphere. I tried the breakfast burrito. It is a very American burrito, which I did not mind. All ingredients were very fresh and it was nicely displayed. I liked the salsa served on the side. My guy ordered an omelette with bacon and cheese. I was surprised to hear that it did not come with toast but only choice of potatoes. This is a place for members coming off of the golf range and not well known for folks coming off of the street so we did not forget that. Service is exceptionally friendly so it makes up for them being mildly green. We did wish that coffee was served hot and that they had checked back shortly after food had been set down. And on a completely side note--I wish they had more choices in mustard like they do with hot sauces. But that is just me being a fan of brown mustard!

Great food and service. Prices are good and the view of the course on nice day is the best.I highly recommend going a little off the tourist trap of downtown Napa and give it a try. They also pour a good glass of wine.

I was looking for a lunch place to get take out on the way to the Tesla supercharger and stumbled upon this place. I didn't realize it was on a golf course until we arrived but too late, we're committed at that point. The restaurant has lots of seating and if you're wondering, yes they do take out as well. There are lot of lunch specials to choose from. I got the fish taco (comes with 2, nothing else) and hubby got their steak salad. I wish I had gotten that instead as the portion was huge and steak was perfect medium rare. My tacos were soft tortilla with fried fish. Very tasty stuff but watch out for the salsa, it was extremely spicy. Service was friendly and very fast. Wish we had time to stop by the driving range, but some other time perhaps. There is seating outside as well but they have huge windows which is just as good to enjoy the view.

Grabbed some lunch here while at an all day industry event at the Chardonnay Golf Course and couldn't eat the provided lunch due to dietary restrictions. The menu was very limited in gluten and dairy free items, but the staff were all very accommodating and modified the seafood salad to fit my requirements. While it wasn't the best salad I've ever had, it got the job done and tasted pretty fresh! With the modifications, it came out to over $20 for my meal which I consider pricey for what I got but that was to be expected at a club like this - also my company was paying for it so I didn't mind too much this time!

Came in Sunday and had the calamari Frito. It was tasty I definitely reccomend it. Chardonnay never disappoints
