Had some coffee, a breakfast sandwich, and a lemon bar. They have a wide variety of things on the menu. Very friendly service. If I need a quick stop for something to eat or drink, I would definitely come here as an option if in the area again.

The Rotisserie Deli is located in Frank Ogawa Plaza, near Oakland City Hall. The other day I grabbed a couple of sandwiches there before heading home at around 10-10:30 AM. My order included:- Pastrami on sliced wheat w/ cheese, Dijon mustard, peppers,onions- Turkey on a French Roll w/ cheese, peppers, cranberry sauce, and onions. My sandwiches were not very impressive. The Pastrami sandwich was very salty. It had a generous amount of meat, but there was a wad of gristle that was totally inedible. I will never order that sandwich again. Grade (1/5).The Turkey sandwich was much better. The french roll was initially hard to eat. The bread was a bit tough. So I zapped it in the microwave for about 20-secs, and the roll softened up. There was a generous amount of thick sliced turkey, a layer of cranberry sauce, onions, peppers, lettuce and tomato. The slice of cheese practically disappeared in the mix. But it was a large satisfying sandwich! Grade (4/5). Service was prompt and polite. There was a bit of a wait, as it seemed like the early lunch rush was starting. Still better than a Togos or Subway, but I'd pass on the Pastrami sandwich.

This is my breakfast burrito to go place, their burrito is huge and juicy. I have been eating this from $4.25 to now $7.25 including tax. It is still worth compared to other store around. Service is friendly and fast.

The Rotisserie Deli has been a mainstay of Frank Ogawa Plaza for years. Surviving Covid when Saigon Restaurant and Ed's Cheesesteaks haven't must have been tough, probably surviving off of government employees and construction crews hunting for a quick meal before heading back to the site. But there is a reason to still hit it up.They do still offer their noteworthy hot bar and salad bar. As you enter they have a station for hand sanitizer and plastic gloves, which does provide a piece of mind. The hot bar includes chicken teriyaki, fried egg rolls, curry chicken, fish, fried rice, and veggies. The salad bar is your standard salad bar. Pre-covid I would hit this place up on the rare friday when I couldn't decide on a single thing for lunch. But they also have a full order menu - a huge variety of options for sandwiches, tacos & burritos, breakfast dishes, and of course the namesake rotisserie chicken. I've grabbed a few sandwiches from here - they are decent enough, definitely pick them over North Beach. What I also like is their daily specials, ranging from dirty noodle bowls, chicken katsu, fish tacos, super nachos, and daily soups. On my most recent trip I got a crab salad sandwich and an order of the pork & shrimp wonton soup. The sandwich was okay - their crab salad is a bit heavy on the mayo dressing. Otherwise the bread and veggies were solid. The wonton soup was actually pretty good - a 1.5 pint/3 cup container of soup with a lot of cabbage and onion and I was honestly impressed with the amount of wontons. I was expecting like maybe 3 or 4, but no, I had like 10, it was great.I wouldn't say this place is worth going out of the way for, but if you are in the area and looking for a hot bar lunch, a salad bar, sandwiches, daily specials, basically just a lot of options if you can't decide on one thing, I can recommend it.

Wonton soup for the win! I haven't really tried other things but maybe I will soon. The steam fished and green beans are pretty good as well.

I'm in Oakland on a work layover. Staying downtown and was looking for a quiet spot for a bit of breakfast. This place fits the bill. They have breakfast sandwiches, lox and bagels, some pastries, as well as lunch time items. I just ordered a sausage, egg, cheese sandwich on a croissant. Pretty chill atmosphere, but for the working district, I imagine this place is a go to during peak breakfast and lunch hours. They close early afternoon.

I found this place off Too Good To Go, the box meal was good price. However, if I have to pay full price, the food is just very average. It tasted like food I could have gotten in any place in Chinatown, nothing spectacular. I didn't try the sandwich or other items though.
