My experience was exceptional!! They are very pleasant, the music was jammin. My husband saw what looked like filled donuts he inquired and we found out they are a Hawaiian donut calls Malasadas. They make them fresh, daily. They said they pretty much nailed it. We bought one of each to try. We were informed that they have other Hawaiian pastries at the Farmer's Market in Alameda. My husband wanted a breakfast sandwich which brought us here. They definitely nailed the Breakfast Sando!!! I did substitute the black truffle cheese for their Monterey and Jack combo. (I'm not a big fan of truffle flavor) Our sandwiches were BOMB !!! Yes, we put some Tapatio hot sauce on it. Mmm mmm good!!! My husband actually said "This is the BEST breakfast sandwich I've had in a VERY LONG TIME!!!"We will be back, AND they are working on expanding their menu even more!!! We're here for it!!! Till the next time!!!

Used to be a great spot. But it has really gone down in terms of service. I will never step foot in there again. Here's why: New management is atrocious! I was sitting at a table eating my fries and drinking a soda while working on a project when the GM abruptly and suddenly came over with my check and said "you need to leave. we need this table." I replied "excuse me, what?" The she proceeded to say, "yeah i need to give this table to those men over there." As a long standing customer who has actually really positive exchanges with the GM and staff in the past, I was totally stunned and flabbergasted. There were other tables with other solo guests who were working on their stuff. So I couldn't comprehend why she had come over to my table to single me out. I couldn't understand why I was being singled out and treated so rudely. So I replied, "now? Why? Are there any other tables?" And she said, "yeah now. Our trivia night is happening and those men need the table. You can sit at the bar." So I asked, "This place is only for trivia right now?" And she responded flippantly, "yeah"I literally had to hold back my tears as I've never been treated so poorly before there or at any cafe. Couldn't even look her or any of her staff in the face bc I felt humiliated and angry. Still can't believe I was rushed out and my tab closed without me asking because the men wanted to sit in my seat. I wasn't asked if I wanted to stay for the trivia. It was assumed that I wasn't going to play along when I actually would have considered staying and participating. Again, used to love that place for its ambiance (food has never been so great) and the friendly staff that used to work there under the old management. Never again would I go or recommend bc that's not how you treat a customer.

Wow, I see a lot of positive reviews so I don't want to be a bummer, but this was terrible. 1. Bloody Marys: The drink was fine but the olives tasted rotted... I don't know how olives go bad but they were soft and mushy and tasted like vomit. When we mentioned it, the bartender came out and told us that's how they were supposed to be. It's funny when you complain about somethting and then they come out and tell you you're wrong... then continue to talk to you until you literally have to say, "Alright, thanks... please let us continue with our meal now."2. Wedge Salad: I guess I didn't look closely at this on the menu but when it came out, there was no blue cheese or bacon. Instead, it was a sweet, onion-ey dressing and crumbled... tortilla? When I asked, they said it was like a "Southwestern" style wedge salad. Seriously flavorless and bad. Really weird choices by the chef on a traditional staple3. Green Goddess Salad: They were out of the goddess dressing so couldn't make it. How do you run out of dressing? Can't make more?4. Lox toast: Instead of toast this was literally prepared on 4 Hawaiian bread rolls. Yes, the kind you get from the store. Not toasted, just raw rolls out of the packageOverall, really terrible menu choices and preparation... one of the worst in Alameda (I can only think of one other place with an equally poor experience). To their credit, the wait staff was very understanding and one of them agreed wholeheartedly that the menu in general was terrible. We got discounts on the food and drinks but still somehow ended up paying over $60 with a 20% tip (Naturally I didn't penalize the wait staff)If you go here expecting to get what you see on the menu, you're gonna be disappointed. Fire the chef and serve more straightforward dishes--don't drizzle honey on top of lox over a Hawaiian bun and think you're getting away with something. Bottom line: The whole experience felt like I was at a friend's house for a thrown-together lunch, replete with leftover ingredients that didn't quite fitOne star for decent parklet and friendly servers (except one of them lingered too long while trying to convince me the olives were fine as is and I was wrong to dislike them)

Very cute bar with great tasting foods! Names and descriptions on the menu sound pretty normal like any other brunch places, but they tasted abnormally good :-) Our favorite was chicken & mushroom skewers. Slices of scallion, creamy & salty sauce go very well with grilled Shiitake mushroom and this becomes great addition to chicken skewer. We also liked Roast beef sandwich - juicy roast beef with buttery croissant. But I actually really liked salad that comes together. There's no extra special additions, but its lime cilantro dressing makes salad simple but extra refreshing. Also had malasada donuts - I was able to try both passion fruit and peach ones (thanks to very generous staff) and I highly recommend passion fruit one.I was first bit sad to know that dinner menus that I saw from older reviews are no longer available because this place is going through management and menu changes, but very soon I got happy with the new menus I tried.Hope they continue to make more hot and heavier food options as all food we tried tasted great so far! Staffs were very friendly, and provided great suggestions. Want to revisit again on more brunch time to try other menus.

My Buddha's Bowls is good. All my veggies in my bowl is fresh and good. My godmother said her BLT was good, and the service is good, they just forgot to put avocado on her BLT.The Turkey sandwich is really good. The corn fritters was good and the sauce that come on the fritters is amazing if you love aioli.

Been eyeing The Preacher's Daughter so was so glad to come here for a work lunch! When we arrived at around 1:30 PM for a late lunch, there weren't too many people there. This was the first time I was stepping into The Preacher's Daughter after seeing it so much in passing / online and I love the space. There's a good amount of tables inside with plenty of seating at the bar as well. They even have quite a few tables outside if you'd like to enjoy the fresh air/sunny weather. It looks like you can order at the bar, but we ended up finding a seat outside and were given menus. From there, we had table service and our orders started coming out pretty quickly. I ordered their BL-Tea ($18.50), with the avocado on the side (avocado is not my fave - unpopular opinion, I know). It came with a choice of side salad or fruit for an additional $2. I opted for the side salad. Overall, a pretty good sandwich. I liked the aioli that came with it and I was pleasantly surprised that it came on a croissant (I should've read that in the menu). However, $18.50 for bacon and veggies on a croissant definitely feels steep. I could've bought all of those items at the grocery store for less and made more, but that's true for eating out at most places. I also got a hot cappuccino - no notes! It was delicious. Not sure I'd come back for breakfast/lunch as the prices are quite up there for what you get, but I definitely want to come back for a night to enjoy what they've got at the bar.

I don't know how I haven't been here sooner! This super cafe is right across the Alameda marketplace so parking is ample. The decor and ambiance is super chill and perfect for a cute date or a girls brunch. The fact that the outside of the cafe looks like a typical old Alameda Victorian house adds to its charm. The menu is pretty small and limited but that means the food is delicious! (The manager said they're working on expanding) There's a separate brunch and dinner menu, but all the food I've had is so well made it doesn't really matter what time you come. Any of the croissant sandwiches are amazing and the charcuterie board is almost too pretty to eat!!There's a full bar, but the specialty cocktails always hit. The tiramisu-tini is my favorite! They also have delectable malasadas! There's also a cute outdoor section! Coming here will always result in a good time!

Service and ambiance were great! Our server was friendly and made some great recommendations. We had our dog with us so had to sit outside but they have a small patio which worked out great. She even brought out a water bowl and treat for my pup.The espresso martini was strong and delicious. The Bloody Mary was tasty and refreshing with all the accoutrements. The waffles were soft and the omelette had a good amount of cheese and chorizo. The preachers daughter croissant was tasty too. The ground mustard, green apples, and thyme onion jam was a good combo, but needed a little more sweetness from the jam. They have live music on Sundays which was a nice touch to a Sunday brunch. If you find yourself in the area, have a big group, or your dog with you, come and try it out!

I've come across this restaurant on yelp before but was never intrigued to try it. Just yesterday I was looking for a place that does Belgian waffles since my boyfriend wanted it for weekend brunch. I came across this spot and looked at the menu photos and it shows a good variety of breakfast and brunch items. Today 6/23/2024, my bf and I came to dine in (sat outside in the parklet) and we were given a small menu that had maybe 6-7 main items and appetizers/drinks. (Sorry I forgot to take a photo of it.) I was a bit confused when I saw the menu after seeing a different one on the yelp photos. I'm guessing they have a rotating menu or completely changed menu?Since we didn't order that much between the two of us, it was a quick visit. Our waitress was nice overall, service was average, and the food came out at a decent time. The food tasted good and fresh. I enjoyed sitting out on the parklet. Inside has a bar area. Restrooms are cute with blue/teal walls and brass gold accents lol. Overall 3.8 stars; I wish they had other pastries and dishes to try on this day that I went.

Went for brunch with some friends. The staff was nice, food came out quickly, had good outdoor seating for us and our dog. The menu for brunch was small and the food was fine but I think this might be a better spot for drinks than a meal. Would come back but with different expectations.
