Such a chill coffee shop. I love the 2 areas with sofa chairs in the front, as well as the variety of regular tables + high boys. I had the matcha latte with a cookie - delicious! Service was quick, simple, and pleasant. Will be back!

Support Local, pun intended.Had time to kill before our 10am meeting so I decided to get breakfast for my wife and I can always drink more coffee.Quality/Quantity - Small coffee (yes, I hit Starbucks in SL this morning...) and a Spinach Mushroom Croissant for my wife. All was good.Atmosphere - Small "local" business.Indoor and some outdoor seating.Metered street parking, but I parked 4 blocks away to get free parking as I will be in the area for a few hours and did not want to worry about the meter.Books and games, probably more for the evening crowd. Seemed like everyone was working here this morning.Service - Good, professional. Counter service.Need a bathroom code, but after I asked, my wife noticed the code taped to the door; see picture. Clean bathroom. Also see the picture of the toilet sign. Why why am I seeing more and more of these signs everywhere???Price - $8 + generous tip.Owner Comments - Congrats on your success since 2017, we always try to support "Local," lol.

Nice brunch spot with classic breakfast fare - the breakfast sandwich hits the spot and isn't too salty or heavy. The drinks are fantastic as well, with some fun and unique options. The Yuzu Espresso Tonic is refreshing and has a strong yuzu flavor. It's lightly effervescent but a little bitter, and benefited from adding sweeteners. The Strawberry Lemonade was tangy and fruity (give it a good stir!), perfect for a warm summer day. It's a nice spot to spend some time in, with a shelf towards the back full of books and classic games like Taboo and checkers. With so many other shops in the area, The Local is a great way to start your day.

Just had a great time at The Local in Alameda. This place is a gem, especially if you have a dog. It's awesome to find a spot where I can chill with my pup and enjoy some good food. Their frappuccino is on point - super refreshing and tasty.The whole vibe is really laid-back and welcoming. Plus, the staff are friendly, which always makes a difference. If you're looking for a dog-friendly spot to hang out and grab a coffee, The Local is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back for sure!

Local coffee shop on Park st in downtown AlamedaI'm writing mostly because of the layout and ambience - I love the long community tables and the open yet darkish study hall feel which reminds me a bit of old English libraries for some reason. Not sure how old the furniture is but I probably wouldn't camp out there in my best outfits. Just got coffee here to go which comes in a smallerthan expected sized cup.

Come for the coffee, stay for the vibes ~ if you're working/studying that is.My family and I stopped by The Local for a weekend morning coffee. They have so many options. Besides the regular menu, they also have a few other written menus that show other drink options.I went with the Neptune - a frappe with double espresso, half & half, chocolate, vanilla, and banana. Except I opted to get it without chocolate. It was a good frappe, but I expected more of a banana flavor. Overall, it just tasted like a regular coffee frappe with a subtle banana syrup. Price wise, I'd also say it's more expensive than it's worth.The looks like an awesome space to work though! Lots of tables and couches to study. If working isn't what you want to do, they also have lots of games and books to borrow while you're there.

I guess I need to get out more and grade essays at coffee shops! In addition to Wi-Fi and plugs, this place has coffee and adult beverages ranging from canned beer to in-house-made mimosas. Yes, grading went smoothly once I ordered my beverage of choice. I will let you figure out what I ordered to drink! This place on Sunday is not crowded, for there's a decent amount of places to nest and get work done or chat quietly with a friend. There are books and board games if you get bored or need a mental break. Cool little addition! Overall, I was more than pleased with this place! This place is teacher-approved!

I am a big matcha fan and this place might be best matcha I've ever had!Loved how it was hot and not warm when served and just right amount of sweetness where it wasnt so bitter or too sweet.The food was good too! I always love visiting Local Shop because it makes me feel at home. The delicious taste of their coffee gives me the energy to power through my entire day. Their tuna sandwich, with its crispy bread and flavorful filling, is both satisfying and hearty it keeps me full and energized. Thank you for always providing such a wonderful experience!
