The Gregangelo Museum

I went here with my family (we were a part of 11) and we had the whole place to ourselves! I had no idea what I was getting myself into, as my Aunt, who booked our visit, said we were just going to the "Gregangelo Museum" nothing more, nothing less, and so I assumed it was your average museum. This museum is far from average. When you enter the neighborhood, you'll easily find their house sticking out among the other homes, and because our group was so large, we were divided into two. My group and I started outside and made out way out, while the remaining group started inside and made their way out.This less of a museum, was more like an immersive experience throughout the home that Greg lives in, where you're guided by someone who asks you riddles, and questions that prompt you to open up to those in your group. (Fun fact, I cried at one point, and JKSHDFJKDHFS I didn't expect that I would be doing ANY reflecting, especially out loud lol)The house is made up of art and materials that were either donated, recycled, or found, and has been about 40 years in the making. The garden in the backyard is beautiful, and all of the rooms inside were breathtaking. I definitely recommend checking it out at least once, and bring some friends!

I experienced "Phantasma: Embrace Your Fears" during Halloween season a couple years ago, and what an adventure into the afterlife! Cool sets, awesome props, even a live snake, and of course great actors and performers to captivate and intrigue guests. They made great use of the outdoor space around the property during COVID, and it was interactive, so actors would ask questions that inspired creative thought and imagination, and of course included commentary that incorporated a bit of humor while still staying in character.Fast forward two years, and I'm able to journey "Into the Rabbit Hole" and finally explore the inside of this one-of-a-kind museum. It's actually a home in a residential neighborhood, but that just means parking is pretty easy to find, since the shows/experiences are by reservation only, and limited to small groups. Gregangelo is the owner and also founder of Velocity Arts and Entertainment, a traveling circus troupe. He was also the guide for our journey into the rabbit hole last week, where my party of two joined another party of one, to transform into three bunnies, as we entered the premises. The outdoor decor and props were partially covered, perhaps being renovated/changed. But inside was a whole 'nother story."Into the Rabbit Hole" is basically a tour of 8 out of 27 rooms in this museum, where pretty much everything is art... the decor, the paintings, the furniture, the lighting, even the quotes and words hidden in various places. But there's somewhat of a storyline being followed (because as I mentioned, you are a bunny as you enter). It's definitely unique, I'd describe it to be something like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Except, instead of Willy Wonka, it's Gregangelo. And instead of a chocolate factory, it's this maze of art and color, and symbolism, and stories behind the various props and items presented, strange corridors, choices to be made, plenty of thoughts and ideas for reflection. And you don't get to the next room without some kind of exploration or sharing of personal beliefs and feelings, or perhaps solving some sort of riddle. I liked not knowing what to expect, while also being able to appreciate the art all around. Some themes included a room full of musical instruments, a room focused on the circus, and an earth room. My favorite room was the Falling Star Room with a swing for sitting, and love tarot cards in Arabic but translated to English with words like "friendliness" or "attraction" to define a component of love associated with each guest (or bunny, lol).No there are no Oompa Loompas here unless you count the writers or other staff, but I swear Gregangelo is just as genius and mysterious as Willy Wonka, and the various rooms we ventured through were odd and whimsical, evoking curiosity, and challenging us to turn our dreams into reality. Maybe the song Pure Imagination should be playing, while exploring the little details of Gregangelo's humble abode!?!I've enjoyed my experiences at the Gregangelo Museum. In the end, I think we are inspired to become better versions of ourselves in some way.

For someone who has loved the landscape and beauty that is San Francisco ever since my first visit over two decades ago, someone who continued to return time and time again, so much so that she made the move just this year, witnessing Gregangelo's was an unbelievable treat.This review may be difficult to piece together, because truly there are no words to describe the experiences meant for your senses, ones we are aware of and ones that perhaps take some digging to activate.The installations are separated by rooms and various areas of the house. They capture the vision and translation of local artists, while painting pictures of not only San Francisco's rich history or interpretations, but guides us to ponder hidden thoughts about the walks of life. The passion for the history, the arts, and just this wonderous wild flare only San Francisco knows... radiates intensely from the Gregangelo team, and I hope Gregangelo's continues to see the support it deserves.It is quite an impressive and sensational ride, and for those who desire more, a step in your spiritual journey.I am so very grateful for the opportunity to visit with an awesome group (what a lucky stroke!), and intend to come back, seeing more of their creations, continuing my adventure with this resilient city, and celebrating its history and future.I am hopeful that many more will get to experience the same.

I met Greg Angelo at a networking event at the Bridgeyard and he graciously invited me to check out the "museum"I wasn't sure what to expect so I invited my friend along and we got to share lunch with the staff. It demonstrated how the place operates, everyone chips in and they value the time they share with people. The tour guide told us we would be given the short version of the place, just under an hour. It's unlike any other museum you may have been to because the art is created by people who have come to visit over the years and is an ongoing evolving display. Each room is themed based on past, present and future. You may leave with more questions than you came with. I loved the experience at this place and would definitely love to return and continue exploring

Words cannot begin to describe this wonderful, zany, eclectic museum which one would never know is located in the St. Francis Woods neighborhood. My visual senses were in complete awe of the evening that my wife, son and I experienced seeing Jade the Magician. This was the second time seeing Jade's performance with the first one being probably 7 years ago in a avant-garde bar/theater for small performances. Greg Angelo and his host of costumed performers delighted us throughout the evening with Jade's performance being the main event. This museum is actually a residence where Greg continues to evolve each room in the house with even the bathroom which is not spared in terms of normalcy. I highly recommend attending a performance if it is here as he hosts various local performers and artists. Definitely recommend seeing Jade wherever she is performing and i guarantee you will get your moneys worth. Thank you Greg for allowing us to experience a truly magnificent Winter Solstice and to Jade for presenting new acts which we did not see the first time.

Unfortunately, it's a no from me. I was quite excited to visit the Gregangelo Museum, but the 'Into the Rabbit Hole' tour turned out to be quite cheesy. What could have been done in 10 minutes stretched into a 90-minute tour. By the end, we consoled ourselves with the fact that we supported the artists who created some of the artworks. Throughout the tour, we couldn't help but wonder if we had mistakenly booked the kids' tour.

Terrible place. They took my money and wouldn't give it back to me even after I said I can't use the service anymore -- my friend had left the area.In response to your comments: no, I haven't visited because I moved away. And when I asked to please get my money back for an attraction I can't use, I was rudely denied.

First of all, we were late and the guide held the beginning of the tour for us. So grateful. I enjoyed the whimsical, fantastic art work and the stories of Gregangelo and the community of artists and how they have created this space. I enjoyed the Mad Hatter through story much more than I expected. It was just enough. Our guide was excellent at maintaining that balance. I did not expect the tour to be so thought provoking and self-reflective. That was a bonus.

I Just checked this place out with my brother yesterday, and to be honest, I wasn't impressed. Throughout the tour, the guide will ask you life questions in each room and will expect an answer from each person from your group. I guess this is ok, but I felt it became more like a group therapy session than a tour. I feel they should concentrate more on the history of the house and the owner. Furthermore, I also think the art around the home was ok, nothing too incredible. Be aware there are no pictures allowed or public restrooms. What's up with that? I would recommend you check out other fascinating museums around the Bay (legion of honor) and save your hard-earned money.

This experience is located in a very unassuming yet gorgeous suburban neighborhood 7 miles outside of downtown San Fran. Uber took 25 min each way ($25) plus the cost of the ticket. More of an experience than a museum, we were guided by a facilitator, along with another couple, through 4-5 rooms of the house as we shared our observations (both external and internal) along the way. Think of this as a guided escape room on imagination steroids with a bit of 'self-discovery' sprinkled in.The only option offered during our visit was 'Down the Rabbit Hole'. Our facilitator was just lovely and did a great job of keeping us each engaged. The imagination infused into every aspect of the house: the experience, decor, the storyline, costumes and concept is beyond impressive! A one-of-a-kind experience.I've given 4 stars as was a tad disappointed that we were only guided through a handful of rooms and not allowed ANY opportunity to take photos or have photos taken... Phones were to be tucked away as-to remain present so that is good but, in my opinion, an opportunity was missed to infuse photo opportunities as part of the overall adventure. That being said - a great activity and one well worth planning into your visit-if you are looking for something fun and unique to do.
