A little surprised by the low ratings since I received one of the best Lavender Oat Lattes at this cafe. Like wow! That lavender syrup knocks it out of the park. It isn't too sweet and the lavender flavor did not taste artificial. I had a taste of my friend's vanilla latte and it was equally as solid. I'll admit $1 for syrup and $1 for oat milk seems like a steep price -- I paid $30 for four drinks. But I think the quality of the drinks was well worth it. There's plenty of places to sit (outside and around), so this cafe is a perfect place to have a chill start to your morning. Staff was super friendly as well, so I'll definitely be back here for another latte!

Coffee is solid, some of the staff is unpleasant and unfriendly enough to make me choose other places. If you want a dash of bad attitude with your coffee, come here.

This place is one of my favorite places to get an iced coffee. It wasn't watered down or acidic. You could add flavors and milk that you'd like. They have popular flavors but they also have unique flavors if you like to venture out with your coffee. The pastries also pair well with their coffee, especially the cookies. Their staff is friendly and the service is quick. They have a small seating area outside.

Due to the pandemic, I will be removing criteria that I had added to my reviews, such as restaurant ambience, mood, and wait time. This review will only focus on the dish.Quick Summary- Not sour- Smooth taste - Alleyway has tables and chairs to have time to sit down and have coffeeFirst experience was a good one. I ordered the vanilla latte. The milk foam was frothy and delicious. The latte had a pretty artwork on the surface, but I had to close the lid when I had to take it with me. The drink was really smooth, and I was very pleased it wasn't sour. Near the end, a sweet vanilla flavor completes the sip.

Have not been in the Temescal Alley for years. My friend wanted some coffee and I already had my shot of espresso. I usually would just try a cup of coffee. Wanted something different. Tried the Chai latte: creamy, frothy, tingling spice. Delicious!Like what they did with small amount of space. Great customer service and staff was wearing masks.

Love this place! Great little alleyway, tiny hole in the wall café. But the coffee itself was really excellent. The baked goods were fairly good, but not excellent (I was very surprised that the croissants were served cold, and not heated up). But definitely come here for the coffee!

You ever been to a spot so saturated by the sheer audacity and indifference of hipster entitlement that you run out screaming in horror? Well, it's not quite that bad in here, but it's awfully close. The entitlement is not so much the vibe emanating from the young guys managing the shop. It's the equally young, self-absorbed non-customers who hang out here. I say 'non-customers' because she didn't even buy anything as she needlessly shared she was fasting and selfishly bent the ear of the barista. So I had to listen to an inane conversation about where to get cool Ben Sherman shirts. That's what the young girl did as real customers like me waited and waited and waited for her to shut her trap and move on. She didn't care and frankly neither did the barista. The fact that I got a decent $4.50 Chai was secondary in the scheme of things (photo: http://bit.ly/2PukcJF). It's in too-cool Temescal Alley which I wasn't aware even existed before I ended up parking in the 'hood. Maybe I should wear a Ben Sherman shirt next time.CHAI - 4 stars...smooth elixir even if it came from a pre-mixAMBIANCE - 3 stars...hipster closetSERVICE - 1.5 stars...pay attention to all your customers, dudesTOTAL - 2 stars...barelyRELATED - Trippin' in Temescal? I really enjoy stopping by Temescal Alley and it was surprisingly my first time trying the CRO cafe. It was a beautiful weekend morning so what better way than to start with an iced vanilla latte? They have delicious vanilla lattes here that I will get again. Their menu is simple but if you're not craving caffeine they also have some pastries for purchase in their case.

A bit conflicted to give this mediocre review as my first few experiences here were great AND this place is within walking distance from my work to grab a quick cup on my break. One plus is I discovered Mother Tongue coffee, which is excellent and I even purchased a bag of beans for home, yay! Another plus is the alley it's located, lovely little walking/seating area to enjoy a beverage. Now to the not so great, staff is 50/50 on friendliness and service. I am always so surprised when people who obviously don't like other people work customer service jobs, and that is unfortunately what I found here. Not all staff, but one regular employee in particular is just really kind of terrible. Also, they don't take cash which wasn't clearly posted, so again, bummer. They do accept cash tips though so, yay? Lastly, my most recent coffee experience here was very disappointing, the barista pulled a really bad shot and it was the worst $6 latte I've had recently, blech. I'll be taking a break from going here for awhile due to my last experience leaving a bad taste in my mouth literally and figuratively.
