The bartenders provide good service and are friendly. The venue also has a few pool tables, which adds to the experience. However, my main issue was with the owner. He is the person upstairs responsible for handing out the pool balls. When I picked up the balls, I specifically asked about the hourly cost of the pool table. He assured me that there was only a single fee and that I could play until I was done. Since it was around 11 pm and several tables were empty, I thought that it was a nice gesture. At around 12:15 am, the owner came downstairs and asked if we wanted more drinks. We declined at first, but after 15 minutes later he came back and asked the same, we decided to order another round, knowing that the establishment was advertised to close at 2 am. However, at approximately 12:50 am, he came downstairs again and abruptly informed us that they would be closing at 1 am. When we received the final bill, we were charged for 1 hr & 45 min of pool time at a rate of $15/hr, contrary to what he had initially stated. Plus the expensive drinks that we were not able to fully enjoy. This experience was disappointing, as the lack of honesty and transparency felt like an intentional attempt to overcharge customers. I believe businesses should prioritize integrity, and unfortunately, this left a negative impression.

I popped in after a conversation with the charming bouncer. My uber was being weird and I was trying to pass the time. I came in and ordered a double. The guy bart tender talked about how it was a true double. I talked about ACL. (The bar was not full at all)It's a kinda regular pool bar so definitely not the snotty attitude place. (That's not ok)Anyway I am still trying to get an uber but all the normal people have left and I am alone with a person who doesn't want to look up from her phone. She was so rude that I abandoned my expensive drink to walk 4 blocks.

I didn't even know this place existed. I came here and it was a very chill vibe. They also have drinks and ambiance is nice. Very big on the lower level I'd say there were at least 6 tables from what I remember. Service was great you can order and they bring the drinks over. Restrooms were clean. Overall great experience!

There used to be another pool hall at this location so I'm glad that a new one has popped up. It's still the same layout. Full bar at the 1st floor and then the pool tables are downstairs. There are TVs showing either a live stream of someone playing pool or just sports in general. The tables seem to play at a normal pace and the pockets aren't too tight. Staff here are pretty friendly too as they will ask you if you want to order food or drink from time to time. It's great to have a pool hall with great food and drink selection that's also close to public transportation too.

I am very glad to see the reopening of this place. While parking is challenging but that's not new for the Bay Area. What I like about this place is the space and decor, not your usually pool hall. There are a plenty of space around the tables to sit and for a group of friends to hang out. It has a full bar upstairs and downstairs. And food. What I don't like: tables are really dirty and the balls too. This suggests that the owner may play pool but isn't a "real" pool player. Even though it has a full bar upstairs and downstairs, the one downstairs is only open on weekends. Note that all the pool tables are downstairs. So if you are there playing pool on a weekday, you have to go upstairs to get a drink or wait for someone to come downstairs when they deliver someone else's drink. They have no cocktail waitress. I don't know how much business this place is losing because it is so inconvenient to spend money here. This place is literally next to the Berkeley campus. Hire some college students. Clean the tables and balls and hire some cocktail waitresses if you choose to not open the bar downstairs, where all your customer are.

I went here for the first time two weeks ago, and I really liked it. There are several billiards tables, karaoke, and a full bar. Don't come here if you're looking for a good meal or snacky snacks, though. They only serve pizza right now (1/2 star off), and it does the job when you're having drinks. Unfortunately, I do not drink, so I was left disappointed. I hope they expand their menu a bit more because I really like this place. So, let's talk service: The server was drunk. Another 1/2 star off. No, seriously. I saw her guzzling and taking some drinks by the bar. She was nice and did her best to be attentive, but her slurring and the fact that she didn't blink when speaking with us (while attempting to take our order) was very off-putting. I'm unsure how the rest of the staff didn't notice her weebling and wobbling. She also almost fell down the stairs, which could be a worker's comp disaster if she continues the behavior. That server wouldn't deter me from going again because we did get some laughs about it. The rest of the staff was really nice, the manager as well. They've only been open for a few months, so I can understand that they're still getting in the groove of things. Ambiance: The place is clean. I didn't use the bathroom, so I can't tell you about that, but everything else was clean. The place didn't have the grimy feeling many places have in DT Berkeley. They had adequate seating for those not playing pool and even a lounge area near the karaoke. The place was chill for a Friday night, but I'm sure when it gets busier, it'll be different. I want them to get the business so they can stay open, but selfishly, I hope it stays low-key. They even had some board games and a giant Jenga which our group thoroughly enjoyed!Price: I didn't pay for anything, so I have no idea about the cost. Maybe next time, I'll update the review if I do.

I love the BreakRoom. Clean, well lit and fantastic staff. There is a bartender named David who is top notch. Super kind and attentive to everyone. I look forward to coming back often thanks to his great hospitality and cocktail making skills. :)

I met the manager, August, while waiting for some take out near the BreakRoom, he gave me a flyer worth a free hour of pool. Thought I'd check the place out with my wife, was pleased with the level of service and the pool tables as well. Layout is spacious, they have other games like chess, checkers, darts. Communication between the waitresses and bartenders could be better sometimes, drink orders being missed or having to ask for something twice. Place is pretty new so that is understandable. They serve a Fieldwork hazy on tap, would recommend. I've only been in on Fridays and it's great every time. Shoutout to the karaoke DJ (can't remember his name) who puts on a great show. You might even win a free drink if you request to sing at the right time, cheers!
