The Brass Haas is a ghost kitchen* that serves up open-faced sandwiches, sides and drinks. In particular, they serve a variety of Avocado Toast sandwiches. I've seen The Brass Haas listed on local food delivery apps for awhile now. I wasn't really sure what they serve because there's no description and the photos are terrible. But this morning, I saw Doordash offering a "50%-off " promo to try this place. Ok, I'm taking that deal! So I order the " Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast" and a hashbrown. The Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast has avocado, smoked salmon, onions, capers, and creme fraiche. The sandwich is actually pretty tasty. Also, presentation and appearance was nice too. Although the smoked salmon did slide around a little in transit. The open-faced sandwich dates back to the Middle Ages. It's simply a piece of bread, used as a platter to hold all kinds of good ingredients. But they must be placed with care and skill. How is looks and tastes are both important! The proper way to eat an open-faced sandwich is with a fork and knife. But we are in America, so freedom of choice says I'm using my hands! And of course, the onions and bits of salmon fell off the toast. So overall, a 4-star experience. Doordash delivery was prompt, direct, and friendly.-----------------------------------------------------------* The Brass Haas is ghost kitchen at the Oakland Food Hall. A ghost kitchen has no dining room or table service. Everything is pickup or delivery. All sales are done thru delivery apps or a website.

I don't know if they've improved since I ordered but I tried the avocado toast one time it was disgusting soggy bread covered in butter (I'm vegan) with a tiny bit of smooshed old avocado. One hash brown for four dollars. Total rip off.
