I'm a big fan of The Alley in SoCal. This one not so much. Limited menu, unsanitary/dirty, there's always 20 flies flying around. And the few times I came here, I ended up waiting 40+ minutes for my drink. Not sure what they're doing back there since it's always empty in the store.Don't think my friends and I are coming back when there's plenty of great options nearby.

Please please come to South Bay! I can't drive all the way to Berkeley just for my brown sugar boba fix haha. I have tried so many different brown sugar milk tea places and still no one compares to The Alley; their brown sugar is so tasty without being overly sweet, and all of their locations throughout both Asia and the U.S. have been consistent in quality and taste.Like I mentioned, I've ordered brown sugar drinks from multiple other boba shops before and also from multiple Alley locations in Asia and the U.S. This Berkeley location continues to uphold the standard with quick, friendly service and good quality drinks. This time I ordered the matcha brown sugar milk tea which was so good; quality matcha that blends well with their brown sugar. The boba pearls were fresh and hot (probably because I came at opening). As of June 28, 2024, they still have their SpyxFamily collaboration, but if you've never been here before, then I suggest to skip the collab and go for any of the brown sugar milk teas.

I visited The Alley in SoCal yearsss ago and had a good experience so I was excited to see a Bay Area branch pop up in Berkeley. I haven't been to this location in person, but when I work in Oakland, I will sometimes splurge and have it Door Dashed. My friends recommended I try the Ube Brown Sugar Deerioca Creme Brulee Milk and the ridiculously long name is worth trying to spit out because the drink really is that good. My husband tried their Brown Sugar Deerioca Creme Brulee Milk and declared it one of his favorite bubble tea drinks EVER. There are a number of other drinks that look/sound appealing, but I may just stick to the tried and true because it was just that delightful.

Phenomenal vibe. Great service and nice music for catching up or getting work done. Touch expensive and drinks may take a bit of time.Heard lychee smoothie is very good.

Pretty classic boba in the Bay, this location has unique limited edition collab drinks very often (currently has the Spy X Family limited drinks, they used to have Jujustsu Kaisen collabs too), and while the drinks don't particularly stand out as unique they're very enjoyable!I ordered the Matcha Brown Sugar with boba, and the boba stood out to me as exceptionally soft and chewy which I adored. The matcha brown sugar flavor was good but not remarkable or unique compared to all the options in the Bay. The Lychee Yogurt drink was refreshing with a strong yogurt taste, but more akin to children's yogurt than yakult yogurt drink taste. I wasn't personally the biggest fan of the yogurt taste, but the frozen blended drink was refreshing on a hot day!Service is standard self checkout and reasonably timed, and ambiance is clean and modern if a bit sterile looking. There's several indoor seating small tables. Overall, I think this place is great for fun IP collabs and limited drinks, but the boba options don't stand out and I wouldn't go out of my way to choose this over all the other options in the Bay.

Brief Summary:- Good tea and fruit combination- Has anime collaborations- there are tables and seats to sit insideI drank one of their drinks a couple months ago and I love their strong fruit flavor mixed well with the tea. When they announced that they are having a SPYxFAMILY collaboration, I scheduled one of my weekends to attend it. According to their social media app, this is the first wave and the second wave will come later in the month. I'm hoping that the second wave contains merchandise.I believe these anime collaborations last a month. The one I didn't attend to was the Jujutsukaisen collaboration, and that one was also a month long if I recall. Since it was the SPYxFAMILY drink, of course I got two of the limited edition drinks, which were Loid and Yor's theme. I feel The Alley has a good taste in matching the tea with the character because it indeed fit the color and the flavor choice. A refreshing and light drink for Loid and a deep dark color with a round sweetness for Yor. I'm looking forward to see what they will plan to create for Anya's drink.

We tried the plain and matcha purple rice yogurt drinks, but they were quite disappointing. The yogurt had a strange sour aftertaste, and it seems that it was blended with a lot of ice which diluted the flavor a lot as well. Furthermore, as seen by the color, the matcha quality was very dismal and the flavor was unenjoyable. However, I think the other milk teas and fruit teas may be more promising. You order at a kiosk and the drinks come out decently fast. There is also a lot of seating inside.

It's my first time here. I got the Ube Brown Sugar Deerioca Creme Brulee Milk. It was pretty and delicious! The boba was soft and chewy just the way I like it. I would like more pudding in the drink but that's an extra $0.95. The drinks can get pretty pricey here if you want to add more toppings. There wasn't a line when I went so I didn't have to wait long for the drink. Not only do they sell drinks, they have croffles and interesting merch. Next time I return, I would like to try their other drinks and croffles.
