Thai Lao Restaurant

I have been coming to this place since they opened.Great food and Best service. ( Nam Khao) is my favorite at Thai Lao restaurant.if you want to try Lao spicy soup I would also highly suggested Curry Noodle Soup (Khao Poon). they made it with chicken, noodles,, veggies, red curry broth, and meat balls . It was AMAZING. 10/10Also they just add more menu (pho) and more I definitely will be back to try it

Sadly this is the turning point in the delicious history of the charming Thai Lao restaurant, which has been sold & is slowly transforming into another entity, the "Taste of Lao-Thai" !! ??Today there was a blessing ceremony by chanting monks & various offerings !!The new owners, a husband & wife team are already putting their own spin on the appearance & ambiance of the former restaurant, adding a photo backdrop & will be open 7 days a week w/no daily "siesta break" from 3-5 !! Service should remain somewhat seamless, as many of the original employees are staying on !! Stay tuned for future evolutions & developments !!!

One of several Thai restaurants within the Hercules/Pinole/Rodeo area.Ordered take out on a Friday night and unexpectedly it was a quick turn around completing our order. Semi-busy inside, as it was a cold night so lots of soup and hot items being ordered from what I saw being served and eaten by patrons.If a Thai place has nam Khao, I have to try it. Thai Lao's version is in my book, with plenty of veggies given to make hand bites.The tom yum and pad thai are also dishes for me to check out:Chicken pad thai was good, will have to ask if it can be made spicy, but majority of the noodles were broken up into small pieces, so not really a noodle dish.I wished the tom yum had more protein (chicken) and was a little sourer. It was more lemongrass forward.Papaya salad is a must try!

My friend suggested that we stop by here for dinner. I was told this is a new restaurant. Plenty of parking spaces and easy to find a spot. Here's what I ordered for the table:Lao sausageLao style papaya salad, add shrimpKhao soyPad see ewNam khao todSticky riceI was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of lao sausage. Papaya salad was spicy and has that kick I'm looking for. Khao soy looked spicy but the flavor of the soup was actually mild. Service was not as quick due to one person working in the front of the restaurant. I wasn't in a hurry though. Price wise I thought it was affordable! I was too full to order Mango with sticky rice. I'll be sure to try this next time. Server was nice and provided a good service. He refilled our water pitcher often. I'll be back!

The interior is nice and I can see that this place is run by a husband and wife duo only.The prices are reasonable and they're located in a decent location. We split two dishes which were pad kee mao & lao sausages. Honestly, nothing to write home about as the pad kee mao lacked flavor & the lao sausage itself wasn't strong as well with the rice being extremely tough and overnight instead of fresh rice. I think that there could be improvements to the rice factor and having more seasoning placed within their food. May come back again and hope it has improved in terms of food quality.

My review is mainly just for the food. We cameOn a weeknight, and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated right away. It's not super spacious inside. The service was good. Food came out fast. We ordered 5 different things, and yes it's a lot for 2 people. We always tend to order with ours eyes lol. But my favorite out everything we ordered is the ka soy! It's super flavorful! We ordered the papaya salad spicy, and it was actually spicy! I feel like most places, you tell them you want it spicy, but it's never spicy, but this place, it actually hit the spot and I got my craving fixed! Overall, I would continue coming back!

Excellent Thai food and soup in Hercules. Most of the items are great, however, there is only one we are not really like it is green curry, it's too watery with no curry with taste.

We went to try out this new neighborhood spot for lunch. All the food were pretty good. Will add to our local places to eat!

Called in an order on a Wednesday night and he said it would be ready in 15 min. It was sad to walk in and see the place empty especially with all the positive reviews. This place does not disappoint! We ordered:Tom Kha soup with chicken 5/5!! It was SO GOOD especially on a cold winter night. The citrus from the lemongrass was *chefs kiss and big enough to serve 2-3 people. Chicken satay 3/5 it wasn't too memorablePad kee Mao with tofu 4/5. So tasty and added their chili sauce that really elevated the dishTLDR: hidden gem in Hercules. Great food. Large portions. Definitely coming back for their Lao dishes.

I thought I wrote a review for this place but I guess it did not save? This happened more than a few times already. Summary: I'd come back again. Food is good, service is great (I keep forgetting her name, but she's petite young female who's always at the cashier and also getting orders and also serving ). Food: Pla Rad Prik #13. The fish I ordered was salty but if you eat it with rice, the saltiness is balanced out. Oh btw, rice is sold separately so I would say the price here is on the higher side. The veggies on the fish dish were fresh, I could taste its sweetness. The fish was cooked to perfection, not dry, just flaky and moist. The second time I came here, I ordered the Khao Soy. It was ok. I would order if it again I have other choices. It was lacking some flavor, could not pin point what it was. The portion is also on the smaller side. I'm used to getting a giant bowl of this soup. Though the bowl is on the smaller side you get a lot of noodles and decent meat. Parking: freeBathroom: cleanService: Superb! Like what I said, I know I wrote a review for this place and at that time, I still remember the name of that young lady. Unfortunately, now I can't remember, I can only describe her. She has the greatest customer service attitude I've seen. Always smiling, willing to serve, polite, approachable, checks on you just about the right frequency.
