Stopped by for the first time on a Sunday, ordered a salami sandwich on sourdough roll with everything on it + peppers & avocados. The staff, was very quick and attentive as soon as I walked in. Terrace Deli is in a shared space with a different business that carries beverages, snacks, etc. Keep in mind, there are no tables to sit and eat. That was not an issue for me as I just wanted a quick take out deli sandwich. At first, it was quite difficult to eat my sandwich since it was fully loaded, but I made a way and needless to say that it was everything that I wanted. The veggies were super fresh. I paired my sandwich with my favorite jalepeno kettle chips and it was just perfect. I paid $23 for 2 sandwiches which I thought was very reasonable.

Terrace Market is a go-to sandwich shop, plenty of choices, customizable. Not skimpy on the meat. I prefer to go here than Lucca Delicatessen in Castro Valley.

Customer service - great, location - convenient with lots of parking, sandwich - really hearty but taste-wise just ok.We were on the hunt for a new sandwich spot to check out and found Terrace Deli (inside of Terrace Market) on Yelp. NOTE that the hours here are for the **market**. The deli closes much earlier. So no, this is not an open-late deli. We checked lol.But we came back again when they were really open during an early lunch hour and only had a couple of people ahead in line. We ordered our sandwiches easily (follow the directions on the menu board) and only had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes for it to be prepared.I ordered a tuna sandwich with cheddar on dutch crunch. Maybe I got it on a low day since many other reviewers are raving, but overall, I thought it was just ok. The flavor was good, but the bread (or tuna?) was pretty grainy and crumbly. The sandwich fell apart pretty easily. I think it could've done with a little more toasting to keep it together. It is a pretty good price for what you get and it is loaded. I'll try it again if I'm in the area craving sandwiches.

Terrace Market is a standout spot for sandwiches! Their offerings are not only delicious and juicy but also generously packed with protein. The prices are surprisingly affordable, and the owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Ordering ahead is a great idea to save time, and they have a variety of sides like macaroni salad and tuna salad to complement your meal.However, one thing to note is that they don't have seating available indoors or outdoors, which is why I didn't give them a full five stars. But honestly, it's not a big deal - you can easily enjoy your meal in your car or take it to go. My wife and I found a lovely park about a mile away where we enjoyed our sandwiches. So don't let that deter you from trying out this hidden gem for your sandwich cravings!

Food: 5/5 Every bite of the sandwich was scrumptious and to be savored. Mmm...Mmm...Mmm... The bacon was crispy and thin. I omitted the tomatoes and lettuce. Requested extra onion and hot peppers. The Dutch crunch roll was fresh and soft. The toppings were properly portioned so everything married well together. I didn't think I'd eat the whole sandwich but I did. Too tasty to put down. Besides, I had a liquid protein shake and arugula salad earlier. Something heavier was warranted. Service: 3/5I came into the store and no one was at the deli counter. Hence, no greeting. I made my presence known by saying hello. I could see the gentleman behind a partition and heard he was on the phone. He gets up while still on the phone and proceeds to help me. To keep it professional I feel the appropriate thing to do would have been END the call and solely focus on the customer. Nonetheless, I received my sandwich made as requested. Ambiance: 3/5 The store and deli counter appeared clean and well maintained. Just congested and oddly structured. When I lived close to this market years ago I'd come often. I happened to be in the area and decided to stop in for the amazing tasting sandwiches I remember. The quality is still there. During lunch time you'll find many of the sheriffs or police stopping in for a sandwich.

Was in the area and in the mood for a sandwich. Decided to give them a try after finding them on Yelp. Glad I did, food looks like the pictures and tastes as good. Service and food was excellent. I saw a sign in the window saying they have been open since the fifties. I can see why. I got the turkey/avocado/bacon with pepperjack cheese on Dutch crunch roll. Their sandwiches are massive and reasonably priced. Will be back! (Have already been back once)

I would really like to give a rating somewhere between 4.5 - 4.75 but to avoid penalizing this business I have rounded to a rating of 5 stars. It may sound like a bit overly precise They are a solid 4.5 stars but not quite a solid 5 stars.My neighbor was nice enough to grab my order while he waited for his smog test next door. So if you are in need of a great sandwich and smog close to each other, this is the location.I had a Poor Boy on a soft roll which was excellent. The meats were sliced thin which allows the flavor to give you a nice blended taste where thicker slices tend to allow one meat to dominate the taste. My wife had a Rueben which she said was very good but they were out of rye so the overall flavor without rye made it fall short of a solid 5 stars.The macaroni and potato salads did not taste homemade but rather like the pre-packaged store versions. This is where Terrace Market fell a little short of having great tasting everything My neighbor liked all of his sandwiches and said the people are very nice. He thinks it is a family run business.Definitely, definitely stop by here for great sandwiches and services. I will definitely be back.

Love this deli and been going there for years. Quality food and wonderful people. While I don't go as often not working close by, I try to grab a bite there when I can!

Mom and pop shop hidden deli inside this little market. Ordered a hot pastrami and it was delicious, the sandwich was packed with meat and all the fixings, definitely beats the chained sandwich shops and by far the best sandwich around this little area up the hill.
