A unique and cozy venue for great Vietnamese, you're going to love their Bánh Cuốn options, a dish I don't often see at other Vietnamese restaurants. The food options here are solid, with generous portions, flavorful, aromatic, with pleasant textures. The service is friendly and the cocktail menu is a lot of fun. I had the Bánh Cuốn House Special, which has these thin rice-flour rolls filled with various stuffings. The cured beef, sweet potato fritters, and crispy rolls were fantastic. Drizzle some of the house fish sauce over the rice noodle rolls and it's perfection. I highly recommend you trying the House Special! We're definitely coming back again and again!

Tay Ho in Oakland is a vibrant spot for authentic Vietnamese cuisine that offers a cozy and casual dining experience. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. We tried a few dishes, and overall, the food was solid. The pho was flavorful with a rich, aromatic broth and tender meat. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty, with a nice balance of herbs and dipping sauce. The service was friendly and attentive, though the restaurant can get busy, especially during peak hours, so be prepared to wait a little if you come at a busy time.If you're craving a casual Vietnamese meal in Oakland, Tay Ho is a solid option.

I took my mom to Tay Ho before a concert at the Fox. It is a very convenient walkable location for events there (.4mi). The vibe is very cozy and cute. The bar is really beautiful. The dining space is comfortable with mood lighting. The service was extremely prompt and accommodating. I asked a lot of questions because I wanted to try dishes that I'd never had before. Our server held my hand through it and my goodness I fell in love with one of our dishes. Unlocking new hyper fixation Let me tell you about this excellence$ The Mekong Turmeric Cake - Bánh Khọt! It was truly the perfect balance of crunch / veg & decadence / comfort! The shrimp, with the coconut cream, the crunch of the egg, the cilantro, mint, pickled carrots etc all just came together for the perfect bite. We also got the Cơm Tấm Tàu Hũ Ky - Broken Rice Special. It was also really tasty and fun to try the shrimp mouse wrapped in bean curd. Another highlight was their cocktail menu! I ordered the SPICY "D"! It has vodka/ancho reyes chili liqueur/passion fruit/lemon/basil/jalapeño/pandan syrup. These are a few of my favorite flavors, as I recently discovered Pandam I knew I had to try it. My mom who isn't really a drinker also tried it and said it was dangerously good. Overall, I was really impressed with my experience and I look forward to my next visit. I swear I will be ordering 3x the Bánh Khọt.

Cute restaurant that gives me a family vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our server (I can't recall if her name is Bae or Bi) but she was great. Everything we had was tasty and fresh. The house special is a must, it's like a sampler and was a lot of fun to try. The pho was good but I don't think it was worth getting the oxtail version. The spicy soup wasn't very spicy but they gave us more chili to add. I absolutely love the green Thai tea.

The restaurant is located in a corner, nice interior with a small bar. Service was good and attentive. But the foods we ordered were tasted different from other Vietnamese restaurants. Soup base was plain and not the right taste, BBQ chicken was dry and house specialty was weird. I do not recommend if you want real Vietnamese foods.

Great dinner, great cocktails! Perfect way for us to start the evening and go to Fox Theater for a concert. No wait on a Friday at 6pm. They got busier throughout our 2 hours but we never saw a wait/line.$133.57 total for dinner for two, including tax/tip.* Soaring Goddess cocktail ($16) - 4 stars. Refreshing & tasty, not as much egg white foam as past Yelp photos promised.* Ban Xeo - Grandma Crispy Crepe ($20) - 3 stars* Bun Dac Biet - Bourdain Vermicelli Bowl ($25) - 4 stars

Love that Tay Ho is near the office I work so I can go when I have a longer lunch break. I got my food togo but I would normally eat the restaurant if I had time. That being said, my order came out fresh, but did take a little bit longer as things are made to order. Keep that in mind if you're in a rush.I got the fried summer rolls and banh cuon plate. Summer rolls were so crispy and hot on the inside. Lots of fresh herbs and lettuce to eat it with. The banh cuon is super soft and silky, but not so much that it breaks apart. They include 3 kinds: 2 with different filling, and one plain, topped with the steamed pork, sausage, sweet potato fritter, cucumber, etc. Definitely recommend this one - Love contrasting textures in my food so I'm game for this. Drizzle that fish sauce and you're ready to go. Service was friendly and the interior is very cute.

This is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants here in the Bay Area. My favorite lunch go-tos are the house special and Anthony bourdain's vermicelli bowl, simply out of this world. This place also has a very nicely curated list of spirits that I really enjoy. Try a shot of Cenote blanco with your meal and I would say that a perfect parring. During crab season we would come here for a card feast IYKYK type of deal, last time we ordered 4 crabs on 4 heads! lol love this place, cheers!

Tried a few dishes from here. We ordered the banh cuon rolls (steam rice rolls), rice plate (broken rice special), and the bun rieu. Everything was good but the bun rieu for me lacked a bit of flavor. Overall enjoyed and may order other items next time. We ordered to go through doordash but I hear the ambiance inside is nice. I will say it is more of an elevated viet restaurant so it is a bit pricier than your usual viet restaurants.
