Taqueria Morena

This place is the truth. I lived in LA for 15 years (grew up here in the bay area) and the one thing I miss most is the authentic Mexican food that my bestie's mama used to make. Met the owner Beto and he's a chill dude. He's got the aunties in the kitchen hooking it up. I've had their enchiladas, burritos and tacos, as well as the elote tamales. My kid LOVES their birria tacos and especially the birria grilled cheese (a once-a-week requirement to keep her happy ). The service is amazing and the environment is pleasant. Check them out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

In the past (maybe) eight months, I've been here three times. Once just to buy a drink to get change for the laundrymat next door. The second time with my child. We purchased a quesadilla for her and just guacamole and chips for me. Quesadilla was a generous size. However it was bland and the texture was a bit hard to the bite, not very appetizing. The guacamole was not bad.At my most recent trip this week, I decided to try other menu items and ordered a few things for my family's dinner (carnitas super burrito, ground beef enchiladas and the birria taco plate). Again the food looked delicious but was bland, no real flavor. The birria was decent, I would have it again. Also as with my other visits, the lady at the front who took my order acted as if I was wasting her time. She obviously looked as if she rather be somewhere else. She always looks upset. It's unfortunate because this place has a pretty good location with a lot of visibility. I wish they would put a little more effort into their interaction with folks, as well as trying to make their food enticing to eat. Not sure if I want to go back :(

Quickly became my favorite "go to" Tacqueria. The ladies are very friendly. I believe I have had everything on the menu with the exception of the Pizole and the Menudo. A must stop for their Taco Grande's on Tuesday.

Randomly stumbled upon this place and it did not disappoint. The quesobirra was great - fresh, crispy, and it came with awesome jus. The shrimp tacos were also delicious, especially with the salsa verde!

That absolute AUDACITY to charge $10 for broth, onion slivers, carrot chunks and zucchini is ASTOUNDING. I am beside myself

MORENA TACOS - our new favorite local taqueria thanks to door dash for the recommendation! They are ready for Covid . They have all the tape for social distancing and they have plexi glass as well at the cashier.My daughters love their vegetarian tacos they come with Spanish rice and super flavorful! I usually order the carnitas tacos with cilantro and onion or crispy with cheese. Both ways are delicious and they have a winning recipes.Highly recommend them if you're in Pinole. Will try more from their menu

My family wanted Mexican food and we found this place just a short drive from my daughter's home. We first ordered their pupusa meal. This meal comes with a pair of pupusa with pork inside. You sprinkle them with cabbage on top and when you take that bite, it tastes so good. The pork was soft and the pupusa taste like it came out of the pan. I tasted the Salvadorean pupusa before and this one is right there on the top. It also came along with rice and beans The tamale meal is also good. The corn husk is thick and the chicken in between has a big portion. You'll love this meal if you have tamale as your favorite meal. Their wet burrito is something else. It was served with a sauce scattered on top of the burrito. It replaces the salsa that we usually ask to top off the burrito. When you add some hot sauce to it, that will make the burrito perfect. Burrito is so huge that it'll take me both lunch and dinner to finish the whole thing. Our family enjoyed the meal we ordered and was satisfied that we found this place for a Mexican food fix.If you want a quick Mexican meal and grab a good lunch or dinner, drive down Appian way in Hercules.

Ordered online picked up in store. Pictures on website menu are from just pulled from somewhere online not their food. Tastes alright but for old school burrito but missing ingredients in description and too basic for me for the price. I recommend Taqueria Maria instead.

I ordered the birria sandwich- not appetizing at all. The rice was ridiculously mushy and tasteless. My wife got a pupusa and it was very not appetizing she took two bites and threw it away. Overall the quality is low and the customer service is horrible. I think the man that was running the show was rude. I arrived and ordered and paid while we waited I'm assuming the owner arrived with a group of ppl assuming more of his family and they received their food first and idk why they were mugging. My wife and I were customers you'd expect them to be nicer. First and last visit. Clean your tables!

This is the worst Mexican food I've had in a while. I took one bite and threw my burrito directly into the trash. The woman taking my order was also unpleasant to say the least. Rushed my order only to get it incorrect. Did not offer to remake my order when I mentioned it. I felt ripped off already and they overcharged me on guacamole as well $7 for a tiny portion. If you've made it this far in my review, I promise you are much better off going a few minutes away to Taqueria Maria down the way!
