Really tasty tamales with a kick! This is a cart on a one way street. Parking was easy right in front. Wanted 3 dozen tamales for a party so called to make sure they would have it and it was not a problem. $45 for 3 dozen = $1.25 each. So a nice discount from $2 each when you buy a dozen. Got pork, chicken, and cheese. My favorite was the chicken and least was pork. The pork was a bit too greasy for me. The cheese had big bits of jalapeno. Wrapped in banana leaves and moist. And it's been good reheated as leftovers a few days after. Easy to pay with a QR code - Zelle, Venmo, or cash.

These were pretty good. My favorite were the cheese ones. You can find them in the Cardenas store parking lot. I see that they also do Doordash which is really cool!

Muchas gracias Dona Lupe, your tamales are so, so good and so reasonably priced. This is a food cart in the parking lot of Cardenas. Cash (or venmo) only. When I was there, a young guy was serving it up and mentioned his mom was Lupe and she makes all the tamales. While I was there, quite a few local guys were walking up for their tamale fix and ordering in Spanish, a good sign, for sure!I picked up 18 tamales (for $22) to bring to a potluck, and you can bet I was a beloved guest. I went with the three options they were serving up: spicy pork, chicken and cheese and jalapeno. My favorite of the three were the chicken smothered in that green salsa that provide. The cheese one would have been incredible if I ate it when it was more melty. I ate them a few hours after the fact and the cheese was a bit hardened by then. The tamales are "small", but they are filling. I ate three (don't judge me!) for lunch and was fully satisfied. They were so good: not dry, no chalkiness. While they were dense, they still had a super spongy consistency. For the price, I don't think you will be disappointed.Cheap eats at its finest all the while supporting a small, family run local business!

Firstly I love that they are hustling and have many options for Tamales! You will find the cart located most likely on the right side of Cardenas parking lot on the sidewalk. The prices are great! The size is a normal tamale so get a coupleI appreciate that they have a variety to pick from when it comes to flavors. The downside for me is that the Queso con Rajas (cheese with chilies) is a pass - the cheese, even when the tamale is hot is hard and no melted. I would come back for the convenience and price

Tamales Dona Lupe is a food cart on Bancroft ave. in front of Wyss. they are here every day. weekends the whole day. weekends scheduled for 12:30 but not showing up on time lately.offerings: tamales (1.5 or 12 for $15) pollo (chicken). puerco (pork) queso con rajas (cheese with whole chile), elote (corn)-tamales are smaller than other vendors, has a good amount of tasty stuffings. less masa, spicer salsa. -not sure they are mexican tamales, they could be salvadoran or honduran. they are tasty.4.5 good value. tasty. small tamales.take outs:-no dining area.-parking limited.

This is a no frills tamale cart, so leave your BS about plating and utensils at home. Come to eat the best moist tamales, have Carlos speedily hook you up, enjoy stuffing your face, and then buy 12 more tamales for $15 to take home. Real bang for your buck. I really enjoyed the corn tamales, but I couldn't get a picture in because I was too busy eating them. They take cash, Venmo, zelle. No credit cards, but don't whine because the tamales are worth it.They're located on the south side of the Cardenas market, if you can't find them it's your loss.

In the Cardenas parking lot and now on DoorDash with pick up or delivery options, but it's $25 per 12 there, so just go pick up w/o the app! Masa is great. Good size. Nice and warm. The pineapple is so delicious, but the cheese and jalapeno is my favorite. Everything is so flavorful. And the Green Sauce!!!
