Looking for an awesome place to romance the bottle? Tala Wine. Super late on this review but Tala Wine is an under the radar gem in The Excelsior worth trekking to. Opening in June 2023, Tala Wine is a boutique wine bar, wine shop, and tea lounge. Free WiFi so perfect place to bring your laptop and wine down for the day with a glass or two, or three. W I N E S H O PCurated wine selection with bottles you will NOT find in big box stores.Tell them your budget and taste preferences...and they got you! On my most recent visit, I was able to get a great bottle of wine for a colleague. They also have a wine club and members get 10% off everything and free corkage for any bottles consumed in-store. W I N E B A RArray of wine, craft beer, saké, tea (red blossom tea company), coffee, and juices. Wine flights: 4 two-ounce tastings for $20.For the drunchies: BYO charcuterie or snack plate, artichoke dip, baked brie, and tinned seafood. P O P U P SKeep an eye on their IG for food pop-ups! D R I N K SI can't drink wine so yay for offering saké!I've tried several of their sakés and my fav is the "Cuveé Mosaic", Matsunotsukasa Junmai Nama ($14/glass), a unique savory saké.S E R V I C ETala and her staff are welcoming, warm, and very knowledgeable.A M B I A N C ECharming Victorian lounge vibes with crystal chandeliers and gold textured ceiling.Great 90s R&B playlist (heyyy SWV, 112, Jade, etc.).P A R K I N GUnfortunately, parking sucks but that's the city for you. More reason to don't drink and drive, and take an Uber/Lyft/Waymo. Looking for a full meal afterwards? My favs within a 1 block radius:- Dim Sum King (not related to the one in Daly City)- Cafe Guatemalteco (Guatemalan)- Mexico Tipico- The Korner Store (Korean bar food)- Chef Hunan (Cantonese)Overall, don't sleep on Tala Wine. It's the perfect place to start/end date night or GNO, and/or if you're looking for a special bottle of wine!

Tala wine is such a hidden gem. A wonderful addition to the excelsior. If you're ever in need a glass of wine or sake. This is the place to be. Love the friendly and clean atmosphere. Pop-ups are fun and Lauren is a sweet heart. Can't go wrong.

Nestled somewhere between a bakery and a bank, this wine bar is unassuming from the outside, but so delightfully cozy and cute once you step inside. We came on a Friday night with ~45 min left before closing, and there were quite a few groups still inside. You could tell they have a lot of regulars, as well as others like ourselves, excited to try for the first time. The 3 of us got the wine flight; each wine was so delicious and unique. Who I assume was Tala came by to explain a few of the wines, and you could immediately tell she was super passionate/ a wealth of wine knowledge. She even pulled out a wine map for one of the pours, showing us exactly where the small Jura region is in France. They also have a few board games/cards, which we enjoyed, but it's also a great place for great conversation. So grateful to have this delightful wine bar only a single 14R stop away from my house. We'll be back often!

This is truly a unique gem in the Excelsior and San Francisco as a whole. If you're not familiar with the Excelsior, we have quite a few gems so check the neighborhood out! Tala is a natural wine bar which is refreshing in a region so familiar with wine country. The natural aspect adds a fun twist to any palate (you'd be surprised!) They have themed nights with flights. It's a great chance to check out different varietals and regions. Who else does this?! Expand your horizons... As of now, Thursday is a "blind" tasting complete with brown bag bottles. You get a map, your senses, and sommeliers who encourage you to scratch your wine brain. Friday is a guest sommelier or wine veteran who specializes in the wines being served. It's a unique way to try wines you'd never think about. You can always buy a bottle and drink it there with a standard, affordable corkage fee. If Tala is around, she's a wealth of knowledge and will steer you in the right direction. Lauren is a breath of fresh air from other places. I love her candid and encouraging demeanor when trying new wines. They usually have some single bottles open for by-the-glass purchases. They recently got an entertainment license so expect even more from the space! Live music, events, shows, and more. *The prices are ludicrous for SF.*Wine not your thing? They have so many amazing beers from local breweries like Barebottle, Laughing Monk, and more. Alcohol not your thing? They have coffee, tea, and non-alcoholic beverages as well. The food plates are always worth it too. They offer carry-out and wine club memberships as well. It's really a one-stop shop here in the E, and I'm so happy to have them here. Dogs are allowed, depending on the food offerings there can be vegetarian options, and since they have a specific license, under 21 is not allowed.

Very cute and quaint wine bar in the Outer Mission. They offer wine flights so you can taste a little bit of everything. The owners are super nice and are very enthusiastic about wines and love sharing information about where the wine is grown and what makes the wine you're tasting especially good. Great place to meet with friends! They offer a bunch of board and card games.

Our neighborhood is very excited to have Tala Wine opening on Mission Street! This will for sure become a go-to hangout spot.I went to the soft opening in early June. Tala, the owner, is incredibly welcoming, easy to talk to, and just a sweet personality. She's knowledgeable about wines and recommended and let us taste a few before deciding which glass to get (about $7 a glass). She offers a discount for teachers and healthcare workers, woot. She also sells beers from local breweries like Laughing Monk (about $20 for a 4-pack). She takes card or cash (she uses Square on her iPad). The spot is cute, with plush sofas, tall ceilings for tons of natural light, and bar seats. Somewhat minimalist but also artsy. She also offers a wine club, and the biggest draw is you don't HAVE to get wines weekly or monthly. You can choose how often your delivery comes, and you can pause anytime. She understands that everyone has different needs and financial resources.

Cozy wine bar with an amazing selection of yummy natural and organic wines. Plenty of non-alcoholic options too. Also some pretty inexpensive "snack" plates. Prices were S.F.-reasonable. Lauren was a wonderful host--very welcoming and knowledgeable about wine. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return! Tala wine is perfect for a party of 1 or even a party of 12!

Nice to have in the neighborhood. Has some great wine, music and ambiance. Got the flight of four for $20, which amounted to a 4 oz glass. Kinda pricey for four oz. And as it filled up with more guests I had to go up myself, interrupt conversations to get the other pours. Probably best to bring them all at once to avoid this. Will go back.

Friday night special of curated wine tastings (from a local vendor) in a flight were all delicious. Good charcuterie and nibble options; thoughtful and right-amount-of-attention service. Peaceful room with great vintage music. Wonderful little neighborhood spot that we'll be going back to frequently.

Tala Wine is amazing. Their cheeses, meats, appetizers/small plates, wines, and herbal teas are all top quality. The atmosphere inside the wine bar is chill and non-pretentious, decor is elegant, and it's an all around comfortable vibe. The owner Tala is so nice too and provides great customer service. I'll definitely be coming back and would recommend this wine bar to anyone.
