Disappointed that they didn't have tripa, so I ordered the burria, and that was very flavorful. I asked for hot sauce, and it was very spicy. The service is still fast, and the ambiance is a food truck outside of a climbing gym

Been seeing this truck for years, finally made a stop, got a carne asada taco w/no cilantro for $3.50, very tiny shells they are doubled which helps and it was really good. Next time I'll get super taco it's $7.50.

Tacos El Rey usually has excellent food but today the food was bland. service was quick, no lines.offerings: tacos, burritos, quesadillas, hot dogs/links, hamburgers, nachos, eats: lengua taco @3, al pastor taco 2.50-plenty of proteins but bland. salsa wasn't apparent-carrots, radish, jalepenos and fried tortilla chips aplenty.3.5 stars. 3 stars quality, 4 stars quantity.

The food here was actually good but they were not prepared for long lines of people, since they took a good 15 m-25 minutes to take our order and then get the food to their customers. They were outside of the shops at Emeryville mall and lines formed but they could not really accommodate the lines and thus very slow.Additionally, they put very little rice and beans in the plate, not even filling up the box as it should be. Other than that though, the rice and beans were flavorful but there just should have been more of it.The only options for enchiladas was verde, which was fine since the sauce was good. However, the corn tortillas themselves were difficult to chew and thus overcooked.

One thing I use to gauge Mexican is the consistency, and flavor of their basics like beans and rice. I'm a little disappointed that they're not quite what I'm hoping for. Needs better texture and flavor. Makes the burritos a little flat.

Being a San Francisco native means that my knowledge of taqueria delights is extensive, attending High School in The Mission definitely classifies me as burrito elitist, a taco snob, quesadilla - connoisseur, if you will. So, I'm super picky about my taqueria food and I won't try or trust just any burrito, (in fact there are only 3 places that I'll trust for Mexican food in the east Bay and they still do not compare to my beloved Poncho Villa). I greatltly appreciate Tacos el Rey, the ladies that work in this truck make the most consistently great quality tacos, burritos, tostadas and the like

Amazing tacos. The truck was manned by two ladies whom were nice and helpful. The carne asada had a nice sear on them which added a crunch to the bite. The al pastor was my favorite. It was a bit spicy but i think it brought out more flavor and smokiness to the meat. The tacos were topped with all the fixings. The plate came with tortilla chips too. Definitely will be coming back to this truck when in the area.

I had a super burrito al pastor( spicy pork) One of the best burritos I had in a while that was al pastor. Al Pastor had a kick to it but wasn't over powering it had a little sweetness as well. Burrito filled me up for the whole day. Came with chips and fixings like pickled jalapeños and carrots.

El Rey parks outside Pacific Pipe climbing where I climb regularly. For me this place is hit or miss. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The food isn't always unfortunately. Sometimes the rice is mushy, the tortillas have tasted stale and the meat just isn't consistently good. My best options here tend to be the tortas with chicken. The asada/beef is hit or miss and I got a lot of tendon/fat pieces in there, more often than other places. I felt my burrito today was overly salty and it wasn't my best experience. Some days it's a 4, others it's a 2. Giving a collective rating for the times I've eaten here.
