My family & I have ordered from Sweet Pipers for years! We're so happy that they now have a storefront close to our home. Lucky us!!They've done a great job of coupling popular Filipino & Hawaiian flavors- their mochi bites and cassava are a must try!! We frequently order their buko pie & egg pie as it's a staple for holiday (or really, any) parties. Looking forward to trying out more treats from Sweet Pipers :) Support your local small businesses!!

Growing up in Pinole, I'm always so excited to visit my parents and see new spots in town that have opened. Sweet Pipers has definitely made the list of places I'll come back to, but for now can only spread the delicious word on this Ube-sweet & family owned Filipino/Hawaiian bakery! With a quote inside that reads "good vibes and good bites", they've nailed both and then some. From homemade Ube spread (amazing on pancakes/waffles/toast), Butter & Salted Egg mochi bites straight from the oven, silky Cassava Dulce de Leche, fresh Cantaloupe and Lychee drinks packaged in adult Capri Sun sleeves, and the pies..oh, can't forget about the pies! Such unique and delicious flavor profiles from Buko (coconut) and Ube, Cashew, Egg and more! With plenty of parking and prices that can't be beat for a quick stop in/grab & go, there's a little nosh for everyone here. Something fun: Taking treats next door to the Fernandez Park picnic tables. One of the best parts of my visit was learning more about the love that goes into each of their desserts here & the ingredients used from one of the owners, Jack. Such amazing people, service and story. Cant wait to share more items with friends/family soon!

OLD REVIEW FROM A PREVIOUS YELP LISTING:In searching for Vietnamese food on Facebook, I stumbled across a Filipino Facebook group that had a lot of people selling their specialties. One of the first people I bought from was Rowena. Ever since I visited the Philippines a few years ago, I have been craving a good Buko (young coconut) pie. Based on the reviews from different posts on that Facebook page, her version is the one not to miss. While Sweet Pipers bakes from a commercial kitchen (Obviously, they have their own shop now), she sells her pies all across the Bay Area at different events. You can check out where they will be from their Facebook or Instagram page.As for the pie, it was simply great! Mind you, while I am Filipino, I am no buko pie expert. However, it tasted like the ones I had over there in the Philippines. It is not overly sweet, which is good, because it would pair perfectly with a nice vanilla or vanilla bean ice cream. You can heat it up if you want, but I personally like it cold. While this pie was good, they also have a variant with a layer of ube below the coconut (I'm more of traditionalist, so I stick with the original). The menu changes every so often, but you can find the likes of Egg Pie, Cashew Tarts, Cassava De Leche, Scones, and Butter Mochi Tarts. I've tried all of them and it's hard to pick a favorite.Again, make sure to check out their social media pages to see where they are and what their menu will be that week/weekend. Rowena and Jack are the best team and you won't be disappointed with any of their desserts.

I've been following sweet pipers since Rowena was selling her pies at parking lot meetups. Stoked she's got a brick n mortar bakery. Too bad it's not closer to me otherwise I might be having too much pie lol. But seriously, one of the best buko pies in the bay and if that doesn't tempt you the the ube buko pie will definitely get you.

Wow.... Just wow! Where shall I start with this place? First, we've been following sweet pipers for years! We heard that they had finally opened up their very first location and we couldn't be more happy for them! These island based treats just remind you of the islands and simple living. Their desserts pack that Ohana flavor made with tons of love. When we first met the owners, what stood out to us were their kind hearted and energetic demeanors. It was just sucking us in to try out their desserts and I'm glad we did! My favorite is everything! Lol seriously everything is delicious here folks, but my all time favorites would be the buko Ube and cashew pies! Wow wow wow just packed with flavors that remind me of home. My wife loves their Ube cassava and always tells me to grab her a tray. Yes a tray, not a slice but always a tray lol. They are located in Pinole which is about an hour away from us, but worth the drive. It's located in I guess a downtown area in Pinole next to a park. Their location is pretty nice and had a chance to visit when they had a car show. Once you walk in to sweet pipers, you'll be greeted by smiles and the smell of deliciousness! Aside from their awesome dessert selection, Rowena and Jack are just a breath of fresh air. While Rowena is the energetic spunky one, Jack has a cool calm vibe and super friendly! Perfect dessert duo! Lol also got to meet some of their family members like the hard working kids they have who help their parents on the dream of opening a shop. They have bright futures ahead of them. Please stop by and visit to be able to imagine going on vacation locally and enjoying bursting aloha flavors!

Spring Food & Craft Fair [Elk Grove]This was my first time seeing Sweet Pipers at the Spring Food & Craft Fair in Elk Grove. For this event I wasn't "recruited" by my daughter (who is also a vendor) to help out so I got to take my own sweet time visiting with the other vendors. I love butter Mochi but this was the first time I saw a variation of it like the Salted Egg Butter Mochi. I purchased one which came with 4-pcs in a clear container. I also got a slice of the egg pie for my daughter. The slices were huge! I had a taste of it and was impressed. This sweet Filipino dessert is similar to the egg custard and is delicious. We were given a sampling of the cassava cake and a whole drink of cantaloupe juice for my daughter (free complimentary). That was a super nice gesture and my daughter (who was born in the US and have never visited the Philippines yet in her almost 21 years) she was so excited. They hail in the Bay Area (Richmond) so I'm not sure when they'll be around in our neighborhood again but they can be followed in Instagram for their schedule. Instagram: @sweet_pipersReview #2908

Sweet Pipers just opened up a few weeks ago in Pinole and it's a must go place to visit and try their pies and other other great tasting desserts. I truly recommend to try their famous buko ube and cashew pies. The flavor is not overpowering with just the right amount of sweetness. I fell in love with the cashew tarts that are a bite size with magnificent taste of its nuts and the pie crust is just yummy! They have ube and dulce de leche cassavas or you can have both the flavors in one order. It was a perfect combination that wants me to come back for more. In addition, the mochi bites were extremely pleasing to the taste. I believe you can choose the flavors of ube, dulce de lech, salted egg, pineapple. Come visit the place where you can find great Filipino and Hawaiian distinctive homemade delights.

You must stop by! I'm super happy. This place is super close to where I live. To me, it is the best Filipino/Hawaiian dessert place I've been. I actually loved all the dessert they have. Mochi and Haupia pies, it's like taking me back to my Island of Hawaii. The dessert reminds me of home. Miss the island food. Owner, I met super nice. Everything that I bought I ate it all. Didn't share, not 1. Lol, Cause it was so good, and I feel like I'll never have that island dessert again. Lol, my only issue with this place. I need them to tighten up a little bit. I know the area itself is super small. So it makes the place not look welcoming. 1st impression is everything! If i didn't like the food, I would not come back. Cause I didn't like the inside, how the lay out, and how clattered it is. Besides that, the food is what I'm rating for.
