Slow Service, Nice food presentation [Fairfield CA]My daughter chose this restaurant for her birthday lunch so my Mom and I drove halfway to the Bay Area on her birthday to celebrate. This is her go to sushi place in Fairfield. Cozy dining room with a small sushi bar.When we arrived we were seated immediately. We were given menus. The restaurant was a bit busy and one server was running around taking care of the entire dining room. After about 15 mins another server came to take our orders. Then another 20 mins later our meals are being served... I can't say I was happy with that part of the dining experience. We ordered the following:Salmon Lover RollLion King RollCrazy California RollBento Box - Beef Teriyaki and Mixed TempuraBento Box - Chicken Teriyaki and GyozaUnfortunately, the teriyaki beef on my bento box was not tender, a little on the tough side. The salad and the mixed tempura were delicious though. The miso soup had a generous amount of tofu. Everyone else enjoyed their sushi and bento meal.3.5-Stars!Review #3685

Really sad with how the last two times we have come here have been. This is our local sushi restaurant and the food is consistently good. We usually come here at least once or twice a month but we will likely choose another place further away based on the service recently. We expect to wait to be seated on a Friday or Saturday night, but last time we were there we waited 35 minutes for a table and the staff was totally flustered by the amount of people. The young girl helping us was very sweet and kept apologizing for how long our food took, but it was another 30 minutes to get our sushi. An hour and 5 minutes from when we arrived until we got served any food.We decided to come again today, chalking up last time to just a rough night. We added our names to the list at 7:20pm. Again, it's Valentine's Day so we weren't expecting to be seated quickly, but a large party left and we waited for 30 minutes for anyone to clean the open tables and seat us. Ok, fine, it took a while. Then we ordered and the real wait started! We ordered sashimi and a couple sushi rolls, nothing crazy. We waited an entire hour for our food. So at 8:50pm, an hour after being seated and an hour and a half after arriving, we finally got our food. In all the time we waited, no one came to offer us a bowl of edamame while we waited and barely checked on us. We also saw multiple pick up orders waiting at least 30 minutes for their orders. I get it, it's busy, but I think they need to work on staffing better for weekends and especially holidays and maybe not take as many to go orders when the restaurant is packed. If you're planning to go on maybe a weeknight or for lunch, the food is good, no complaints there. But unless you are ok wait in an hour to an hour and a half for sushi, I would not recommend going on a Fri/Sat.

Hidden Gem with a Personal Touch We heard whispers about this spot, so naturally, we did a little Yelp-sleuthing. The reviews were a bit of a mixed bag, but hey, when in doubt, let's try it ourselves, right?We ordered the Bluefin Combo, and here's where things got chef's kiss incredible. The chef himself came over and told us he wasn't totally happy with how the leanest cut of the bluefin looked at the moment, so he swapped it out for something even better. Talk about going the extra mile! We were so impressed by his honesty, thoughtfulness, and commitment to ensuring we had a great experience. Each piece was like butter-- it melted in your mouth like it was meant to be. This guy knows exactly what he's doing.We kicked things off with the tempura appetizer--crispy, light, and dangerously addictive. We paired it with a bottle of sake - perfectly smooth. As for the rolls, we got the Green Valley, and the Country Girl (It's a roll that's unique, like a little flavor bomb.)Now, just a teeny complaint--water service was a bit lacking. Not a deal-breaker, but a note to the team: hydration is key!Cliff's Notes (a.k.a. my boyfriend's two cents in response to the Yelpers reviews):* No more carpet, folks! It's been a few years since I last ate at sushi king but when I had the opportunity to celebrate a birthday here I had to say yes. We made a reservation for 12 so we got the small dining area in the front of the restaurant. It's a pretty small area that if someone needed to use the restroom a lot of people would need to get up. The service was great. Some got their food on time while others, it did take a while. The food itself was delicious and the presentation was awesome.

I came on a rainy day because I was craving sushi and didn't feel like driving far. I was seated right away which was nice. I ordered the negihama maki and negitoro maki. I wanted to order nigiri but was told they couldn't make nigiri because they ran out of some ingredients. The food took a little while to come out. the negihama roll was ok. I liked the negitoro roll better. I love that they use pickled wasabi here. The waitress didn't refill my drink at all while I was here. I wish she checked on me once or twice but she didn't. The ambiance is cozy. There's nothing fancy about it. It's your average sushi spot. The location is very convenient though.

Sushi King far exceeded our expectations! The service was excellent; the staff was attentive, timing each drink, appetizer, and sushi dish perfectly. While the pace wasn't rushed, you could tell they took their time to make sure every dish was prepared with care. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the shrimp nigiri--served with the head--was a standout favorite. We were so impressed with the quality and experience that Sushi King is now a must-stop for us on our trips between Sacramento and San Francisco. Highly recommend!

Good sushi and a nice atmosphere! Would go back again-- especially for the green valley roll.

After a long day came to eat dinner, sat by the bar Got all the great stuffs and the best part the Chefs have specially prepared us off menu specials. It was delicately prepared like art.The sashimi, hamachi belly, and salmon belly were all so buttery smooth texture. Everything was top notch, great Chefs and attentive staffs. It's one of my favorite local Japanese restaurant.

Guess we ordered a lot of food but everything is so good! We thought the service will be slow but everything we ordered come in phases. The place is small but can accommodate enough people. This is a gem in the area

really enjoyed their salmon lover roll, it tasted great and the salmon was delicious. The place was also well decorated and very quaint when I got my food.
