There are a lot of sushi restaurants out there but I would say this one has a slightly more elevated feel. It is right by the beach so it's a really pretty spot. They offer indoor seating, bar seating, and semi-outdoor seating. I thought the prices were really high when looking at the menu but once the food came out. I understood why. The portions were hugeeee! I came hungry but I still wasn't able to finish my food. It all tasted amazing as well. They have their own parking so it's easy around there. The service is nice, they all checked on us multiple times. It can get busy on weekends especially during lunch time so I suggest you join the waitlist before coming.

The food portions were great, however taste has dropped a a bit in the last couple years. However, that isn't the reason for the 2 star review. We came here with our party of 10 and the service was awful - the server disappeared most of the evening and it was hard to get simple things like water and the bill. A good example, she dropped off the check and left without taking the card...we couldn't find her for a good 10 minutes then had to flag her down when she reappeared.

I've been coming to this spot since I was 15, and it holds a special place in my heart. I even celebrated my high school graduation night here with dinner, which makes it all the more meaningful. Honestly, I hesitated to write this review because this place feels like my hidden gem--one of my favorite escapes. Who knows you might even find me tucked off in a corner booth Some of my absolute favorites are the Spicy Tuna, Orange and Cherry Blossom, and a custom-made Spicy Hamachi roll. The reasonably priced Bento Box is perfect for sharing, and the sake bombs make it a great spot for friends to gather. The waitstaff can be hit or miss--some are incredibly friendly, while others, not so much--but the food truly speaks for itself.Beyond the food, the ambiance and view elevate the entire experience. While the place has changed over the years, the delicious flavors have remained consistent. I almost don't want to give too much away because I like keeping this place to myself, but if you do visit, make sure to try the Bento Box--it's great for sharing, especially if raw sushi isn't your thing.Everything here is reasonably priced, making it a perfect spot for any occasion. Cheers to great food, amazing vibes, and maybe even keeping this gem just a little under the radar!

We came on Sunday a little after noon and saw many people waiting. We signed up on the Yelp Waitlist, which estimated about a 5 minute wait, but that was completely inaccurate. I then checked in with the hostess and she said our table would be ready in a couple minutes... it ended up taking a full hour. There was a large party taking up most of the tables, which is probably what led to the huge delay. I felt bad for the waitstaff since they were clearly busy, but I think they can set better expectations. The hostess also offered patio seating, but the heating wasn't on, so it didn't sound very appealing for a meal in early January! By the time we got seated, there were almost 30 people waiting to be seated. The food came out fairly quickly. I like that they had the Korean "ade" drink options - the green grape ade was really sweet but it was nice and refreshing. We ordered the Rock and Roll, Lion King, and Bay Oyster. Honestly, I think all of the rolls are extremely excessive and very American. It was impossible to eat one piece in one bite, and the flavors were too mixed for me to enjoy. I felt like the rolls were too carb heavy. I thought the Sashimi Lunch was alright; the fish did not stand out and it did not taste very fresh. The item I enjoyed the most was the Roe Mix, a bowl of rice with uni, ikura, tobiko, and kazunoko on time. Once you pour the sauce on top and mix it up, it's a really great dish with creamy bites due to the uni. Towards the end, it got too salty, though.Overall, I did not have the best experience. The waiting situation was really frustrating and the food did not make up for it (although it was fine).

Sushi House has been a go-to spot for my family's sushi cravings over the years, and for good reason. This place offers something for everyone at a price that feels like good value for what you get. While the wait used to be notoriously long, I've heard it's gotten a bit better recently--which is all the more reason to stop by.The menu is versatile, making it easy to satisfy all kinds of cravings. You can keep it simple with a bento box, teriyaki, or chicken katsu, or go for something warm and comforting like a bowl of udon. If sushi is what you're after, their roll selection is massive--plenty of options to explore. For a special treat, the sashimi boat is a standout, featuring freshly prepared sashimi that's a cut above.Even my 3-year-old had a blast, happily digging into his tempura shrimp and chicken katsu. Sushi House really knows how to cater to families while still delivering quality and variety for all tastes. It's a place we'll keep coming back to time and time again.

So delicious! This place has been consistently tasty for the last 20 plus years! It is right across the street from the beach, so most seats have a scenic view!It can get busy, but there is a waitlist you can utilize on Yelp!

3.5/5 Overview: Pricey but large portions, hit-or-miss serviceIt is always busy here, so sign up on their Yelp waitlist before you go to the restaurant! Once you get to the restaurant you MUST CHECK-IN with an employee or else they will not count your sign-up online as valid and you'll have to wait even longer.----The quality of service definitely depends on who you get as your server. It's been a toss-up each time I go, but my last time there, Henry was the best server! Super attentive and welcoming, all around awesome. I've been coming here for more than 10 years since I was a kid and it's always been on the pricier side. While the price is a little steep, the portions are pretty large as well. ----My go-to rolls are the Lion King or the Bay Scallop ($18 each), they are very similar in terms of taste. Both use a California roll base (imitation crab and avocado) with similar toppings and sauces: baked salmon for the Lion King and baked scallops for the Bay Scallop, then topped with unagi sauce (I think).Thai tea ($5) is a good price and size, comparable to boba shops. Edamame ($8), it's just regular, plain edamame, I like to dip it in soy sauce. The taste of the sushi here is of similar quality to the other sushi places here in Alameda. Price-wise it's a little bit more expensive than places like Yo Sushi in Marina Village, and about the same as Yojimbo on Park Street.----I don't know if they still do this anymore because it was banned in July 2024, but they used to charge a mandatory service fee in addition to a having tip line, with no explaination of what the service fee was for. It was a bit confusing to see that on the bill and so we tipped on top of that, but later we found out that service fees don't even go to the workers, and is just an additional fee to cover the cost of doing business? Hopefully they no longer charge their customers an extra automatic fee (that doesn't even go to their workers) just for eating there.----It's a little loud to eat here because it's always busy. TV has closed captions on and they usually play sports or the news. There's both indoor (sushi bar, regular tables, and booths) and outdoor patio seating. It's located right by the beach so the views are beautiful around sunset times. ----Overall: Solid food, sizeable but expensive; inconsistent service

This is a great place for locals and everyone loves it. There's a parking lot right outside so it's very convenient to find parking. Came on a Friday evening and it wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. You can also join the waitlist on yelp ahead of time which is a great hack. Highly recommend checking out the menu before cause their menu is pretty expensive and big. I always love getting the sashimi and a few of their roles like lambada, island, and super prawn. Another favor is the Greene muscle as well as their tempura. Everything is really yummy. Highly recommended.

We've been coming to sushi house for a few years now, because it's a warm and homey spot after some golf at corica. I enjoy how generous the portion sizes are! I ordered the sukiyaki beef, which came with rice, miso, and a side salad. I thought it would be small given that it was only $20, so I got a California hand roll as well. Boy was I wrong -- everything was huge! My friends felt similarly, with trouble finishing their portion sizes as well. My complaint was the sukiyaki was just pretty bad. The base was really sweet and the beef was wayyy over cooked. It hurt my jaw to chew on it. That was really disappointing. Another disappointing thing was how hard it was to get the staffs attention after we got the food. We wanted to wave them down to get a fork, which took forever. We wanted some more tea, but just didn't ask since we thought someone would check on us eventually. Towards the end of the meal, I noticed the kettle of tea close by so I ended up serving us. Great place to come for good value, I would just definitely order some other stuff next time...

Very flashy and stylish sushi fresh off the stove. This one is most definitely worth sharing. My friends and I ordered a variety of sushi dishes, and the ramen was also delicious. One dish that truly stood out was the Lion King, a sushi roll topped with baked salmon that's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The service was friendly and occasionally got very chatty with waiters/waitresses. I'd say that it is a very nice touch to the experience. The interior was clean and authentic, blending Japanese and Western cultural elements in a mixed-style interior design. The Tempura Udon was also fantastic, the dish features crispy tempura paired with Udon noodles, the two makes a very satisfying combination alongside the Lion King roll. The atmosphere was friendly and buzzing. My experience at Sushi House was memorable. People are friendly, dishes are fantastic, it is a cozy place where I would chill with friends and enjoy food. Great dining experience overall. I will definitely be coming back to try out more dishes!
