Suruki's Sushi & Teriyaki Grill

Yay! Suruki's is back to form. Chicken is tasty again and the tempura was crispy and not just doughy. Read my more positive review.

Tried this place in hopes of finding a quick and reasonably priced sushi/noodle option in town. Plenty of ramen or udon noodle restaurants but not Yakisoba.Was impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant; small lobby with a few tables but nothing fancy. Prompt service, plate delivered to the table!Unfortunately the food was just ok... First time trying and likely the last. The sushi was ok, not terrible just not wow'd. The noodles were very dry, blan and lacked a bit of everything. I prob liked the spring rolls most but needed sauce besides the heavy "yummy" sauce it was served with.Underwhelmed, unimpressed and hoped for more.

So many businesses have closed but I am so happy to see that Surukis is surviving! Food gets out pretty quickly and honestly I can say that their teriyaki sauce is THE BEST that I have ever had. It's not too sweet like other places. I haven't ordered from Surukis in so long but I was craving their chicken teriyaki bowl before a workout and had to go. My food was ready in less than 10 minutes from ordering and I also ordered some shrimp tempura. I was a bit ambitious, I was only halfway done with the bowl and had to force myself to eat the tempura because I knew it wasn't going to be as good if I put it in the air fryer later.It sucks that the place isn't as packed as it used to be. I know so many people order via DoorDash. Hopefully soon I'll be able to enjoy sushi at the restaurant when I have more time.And the employees are always helpful with suggestions.

I thought the Pork Tonkatsu was well prepared and hot in temperature upon delivery. I love the side salad's dressing. I think it's one of the best. The serving is huge and very tasty. This is my recent favorite from this place. I'm surprised how it's rated only a 3 star by others. Give this little gem another try if you're local.

I liked them because they have affordable Japanese food for what it is but like everywhere else, everyone is raising prices regardless of quality. I see deals inside the store so maybe I can change my mind when I come back but $19.04 for this katsu chicken curry plate isn't impressive to me. What curry there was is good but ate it in mostly 8 spoonfuls. This dish is like 2/3 rice and chicken, 1/3 curry.

Suruki's is always a must stop for me when I am in the Vallejo area. This is definitely a rating that is impacted by the consistency and reliability of their food. Because I have gone here a lot it is also a reminder of home and warmth.I have gotten the sushi a few times, and some other bowls, but the star of this review is the beef don.Beef Don: 10/10This bowl is such an amazing combination. It's hot and just fills you with a warm and happy feeling - especially on the winter. The egg and beef are so flavorful together with all the juices of the onions. The juice of everything together drips down onto the rice making it moist and adding extra flavor. The chicken don does not have the same rating because the chicken soaks up a lot of the juices and can be dry. Here, the is flavor everywhere, and I love it! A must try for sure! Before you know it you'll be craving it too!Unagi Don: 9/10The unagi Don is extremely good as well. The sauces that is on the unagi is amazing and makes the rice less plain.Spam masubi: 9/10I love spam masubi and will always get one here. It tastes like any other spam masubi and they make it fresh! I will caveat that sometimes the seaweed can be a bit soggy from the heat of the spam and rice.I've gotten the sushi here too and it's pretty decent. You can now do takeout by ordering on the phone, or by walking in and ordering at the register. They also have a few tables for dining inside. Everything is always done to order, so sometimes it takes some time.Overall, Suruki's will always have a special place in my heart. The staff are so nice, and it's a local restaurant that deserves a lot of credit!

Food just isn't good here. Tried it a couple times and I just didn't like their sushi. Rice is mushy and there really isn't much of a variety. All the rolls seem to contain similar ingredients. The chicken karaage was like popcorn chicken and was mostly small hard pieces of the coating. Service is friendly you go to the counter and order your food and pick it up when called. Ambiance is very fast food like. Better off going to Yo sushi or for a little more, go to Matsuri's.

Ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box with tempura. It was okay. Salad was made of iceberg lettuce, tempura was a good amount but a thicker tempura crust than I'm used to. A good amount of rice. Chicken teriyaki, I would pass on. It was burnt and had a lot of skin vs meat. Miso soup was more on the watery side than creamy.However, my son looked like he enjoyed his CA Roll!5 tables are inside.The workers were very friendly and helpful!

Attention to detail and great employee's attitude. Food was flavorful. Other the 2 item Bento Box. Lots of rice, salad, my chicken curry needed a bit of kick but hot sauce was available.

Went here for a quick lunch. It's been a while since I ordered from this restaurant. Food was alright. I ordered the 2-item special bento with mixed tempura and pork katsu. The pork katsu was extremely dry. It tasted like it was cooked already before I ordered. Service was fast. The staff were nice. The place looked clean and well maintained.
